<Format>:

[player]-[player] [result] [# of MOVES]

==4 Different Scoring Methods==

Standard Moves Ranker (1st place-Over[3pts], 1st place-Under [7pts], Exact [10pts])

Bonus Ranker (3rd place-Over[1pts],2nd place-Over[2pts],3rd place-Under [5pts], 2nd place-Under [6pts]

Standard Moves/Bonus Ranker [Add all to together]

1st place Ranker [how many 1st place you have in Standard Moves Ranker]

For example:

<Note: Participants 3, 4, and 5 are predicated on nobody scoring an exact as Participant 2 did. If someone hits an exact, the closest score under and over will score the points for second place.>

Actual Game: [player]-[player] 0-1 45

Participant 1: [player]-[player] 1/2 45
Participant 2: [player]-[player] 0-1 45
Participant 3: [player]-[player] 0-1 44
Participant 4: [player]-[player] 0-1 43
Participant 5: [player]-[player] 0-1 46

Participant 1: No points even though 45 is correct. Results must be correct. If Result is wrong and moves # is correct...you get no points whatsoever

Participant 2: 10 pts rewarded for correct Result/moves #

Participant 3: 7 pts rewarded for closest under (1st-Under) to 45 moves

Participant 4: 6 pts rewarded for the 2nd closest under (2nd-Under) to 45 moves.

Participant 5: 3 pts rewarded closest OVER(1st-OVER) to 45 moves.

Again, the description of Participant 3, 4, and 5 are based on there being no exact prediction as made by Participant 2.

<IF> there is an exact or an under closest, the highest scoring over participant will be 2nd over. The second closest over will be 3rd over. The <ONLY> time there will be a first over is if there is no exact or under winner.

Jul-18-18  WinKing: Tomorrow, Thursday July 19th, is a rest day. Play resumes on Friday, July 20th.
Jul-18-18  Count Wedgemore: This tournament sucks :)
Jul-18-18  Count Wedgemore: For some reason I'm not doing well..at all. All my predictions are horrible. Talking about being in a slump, both in this contest and in the Chessbookie. I've lost my touch!

Last season I was like Germany's footballers in the 2014 World Cup. Now I'm playing like Germany2018, losing to Korea(!) in the WC. I guess that just like the Germans, the winning got to my head.

Thanks for listening in to my completely unnecessary ramblings. As you were.

Jul-19-18  WinKing: I don't ever remember 5 different members hitting an Exact before although it may have happened awhile back. 4 of those Exacts coming in one game. A good showing by the group. 118pts. scored in all for Round 4.

  OhioChessFan: ** Round 4 Recap **

We had an exciting round, with a total of 5 people hitting a perfect. Clearly, <OCF's> chiding and <Winky's> braggadacio had a motivating impact on the contestants. After it all shook out, <WinKing> still leads in 3 Rankers, and <OhioChessFan> leads in the other.

In other news, <CountWedgmore> took his life in his own hands when he nearly sent <chessmoron> into a rage by mentioning that "this tournament sucks." <chessmoron> went looking for him with blood in his eyes until Legendary Peacemaker <OhioChessFan> convined <cm> that <Count> meant the chess tournament, not this contest. <Count> would be well advised in the future to be very careful in his words when the administrator of the contest is 7' 6". <offramp> is facing a civil lawsuit and possible imprisonment for revealing the secret recipe of Kentucy Fried Chicken. He's hired <Penguincw> as his lawyer in hopes that <Penguin> will give such a long-winded opening statement the judge declares a mistial just to get it over with. <Penguin> almost missed turning in his picks that round as he was too busy wishing a Happy Birthday to several hundred of his closest friends in the chess world. <wordfunph> has spent 4 rounds convincing <juan31> not to pick Croatia to win.

We're over halfway through our contest (<OCF> figured that out in his head if anyone is impressed) and <Winky> is strutting around as if he owns the place, which he apparently does. Can <someone> step up and challenge him? Will <OCF> suffer through another agonizing contest where he takes an early lead and staggers to the finish line? Will <offramp> reveal KFC's secret recipe for fried rat? We'll have to wait for the answers to these and many other penetrating questions, as our exhausted contestants need a day off. Here's hoping our contestants take today to recharge, think about what they've done wrong so far, vow to correct it, and move on toward cyber fame and fortune. Only 3 rounds to go in our exciting contest.

Jul-19-18  WinKing: Just to make you feel better <OCF> you actually have 3 in the 'Moves Ranker (# of 1st place UNDER/OVER)' & not 2.

You had two 3pt hits one in Rd.1 & one in Rd.2. The one 7pt. hit came in Rd.4.

<chessmoron> has it right in the 'Moves Ranker':

Jul-20-18  Count Wedgemore: Finally a decent round by me. By the way, thanks <WinKing>, for putting all our predictions in your forum. Nice to have an overview of the situation during the games.

<Peacemaker <OhioChessFan> convined <cm> that <Count> meant the chess tournament, not this contest.>

Ehhmm..I meant Dortmund of course, not this terrific contest.

Not wanting to have a 7' 6" guy coming after me, I just wanted to clarify that. Now, he may have questionable music tastes (given a persistent rumour about enthusiastically attending a Bruno Mars concert), but his handling of this contest is beyond reproach, of course.

Jul-20-18  Count Wedgemore: Round 6:
