<Format>:

[player]-[player] [result] [# of MOVES]

==4 Different Scoring Methods==

Standard Moves Ranker (1st place-Over[3pts], 1st place-Under [7pts], Exact [10pts])

Bonus Ranker (3rd place-Over[1pts],2nd place-Over[2pts],3rd place-Under [5pts], 2nd place-Under [6pts]

Standard Moves/Bonus Ranker [Add all to together]

1st place Ranker [how many 1st place you have in Standard Moves Ranker]

For example:

<Note: Participants 3, 4, and 5 are predicated on nobody scoring an exact as Participant 2 did. If someone hits an exact, the closest score under and over will score the points for second place.>

Actual Game: [player]-[player] 0-1 45

Participant 1: [player]-[player] 1/2 45
Participant 2: [player]-[player] 0-1 45
Participant 3: [player]-[player] 0-1 44
Participant 4: [player]-[player] 0-1 43
Participant 5: [player]-[player] 0-1 46

Participant 1: No points even though 45 is correct. Results must be correct. If Result is wrong and moves # is correct...you get no points whatsoever

Participant 2: 10 pts rewarded for correct Result/moves #

Participant 3: 7 pts rewarded for closest under (1st-Under) to 45 moves

Participant 4: 6 pts rewarded for the 2nd closest under (2nd-Under) to 45 moves.

Participant 5: 3 pts rewarded closest OVER(1st-OVER) to 45 moves.

Again, the description of Participant 3, 4, and 5 are based on there being no exact prediction as made by Participant 2.

<IF> there is an exact or an under closest, the highest scoring over participant will be 2nd over. The second closest over will be 3rd over. The <ONLY> time there will be a first over is if there is no exact or under winner.

  OhioChessFan: ** Round 4 Recap **

It was another feeble effort by our competitors, as only 41 points total were scored that round, and 15 of them were by <Penguincw>, including 7 points on his ridiculous pick of a draw in Georgiadis - Carlsen. The contestants were quite nervous as they tried to slink away without <chessmoron> calling them out again. In any case, due to his stu-errr, creative picks, <Penguin> charged to the lead in 2 Rankers. <WinKing> is still hanging on to the lead in the other 2 Rankers.

In other news, <Penguincw> plans to pick England to win the World Cup. <juan31> still hasn't scored a point, which is becoming a source of major embarrassment. 6 people haven't picked a #1 yet, so there's 12 more 0's on the scoreboard. The crowd is getting rather upset with the contestants, as they are paying good money to watch what are supposed to be the chess world's best predictors. Instead, they are seeing the prediction equivalent of people who can't solve Monday puzzles. Here's hoping things pick up soon or <chessmoron> will trot out his Infamous Glare to "encourage" better performance.

When will someone start to perform? Can <chessmoron> afford to return the spectator's admission fees? Can we start to get all those ugly 0's off the scoreboard? Stay tuned for the answers to these and many other penetrating questions. 6 rounds to go in our thrilling contest.

lol...now that's funny!

Jul-25-18  WinKing: Hey <chessmoron> if you like I would be willing to take over the scoring after the rest day. That would be rounds 7,8,9 & 10. I figure you could use a break. Doing predictions back to back is tough. Let me know.
Jul-25-18  WinKing: <chessmoron> I'm assuming this is a typo in the 'Moves+Bonus Ranker':

<5, offramp>

Should be 15.

Jul-26-18  WinKing: <chessmoron> I think the Svidler-Navara game was 40 moves & not 41.

https://chess24.com/en/watch/live-t...

<chessbomb> has the game in 41 moves but I believe that is wrong. The arbiters place the king on e4 when a game is completed & the sensory game boards count it as a move when it is actually not. We have had this problem before. <chess24> has the correct score of the game.

Jul-26-18  WinKing: The 40 moves gives you & 4 other players an 'Exact' 10pts. instead of 7 pts. each.
Jul-26-18  WinKing: Of course if you only want 7pts. I won't argue. ;)
