<Format>:

[player]-[player] [result] [# of MOVES]

==4 Different Scoring Methods==

Standard Moves Ranker (1st place-Over[3pts], 1st place-Under [7pts], Exact [10pts])

Bonus Ranker (3rd place-Over[1pts],2nd place-Over[2pts],3rd place-Under [5pts], 2nd place-Under [6pts]

Standard Moves/Bonus Ranker [Add all to together]

1st place Ranker [how many 1st place you have in Standard Moves Ranker]

For example:

<Note: Participants 3, 4, and 5 are predicated on nobody scoring an exact as Participant 2 did. If someone hits an exact, the closest score under and over will score the points for second place.>

Actual Game: [player]-[player] 0-1 45

Participant 1: [player]-[player] 1/2 45
Participant 2: [player]-[player] 0-1 45
Participant 3: [player]-[player] 0-1 44
Participant 4: [player]-[player] 0-1 43
Participant 5: [player]-[player] 0-1 46

Participant 1: No points even though 45 is correct. Results must be correct. If Result is wrong and moves # is correct...you get no points whatsoever

Participant 2: 10 pts rewarded for correct Result/moves #

Participant 3: 7 pts rewarded for closest under (1st-Under) to 45 moves

Participant 4: 6 pts rewarded for the 2nd closest under (2nd-Under) to 45 moves.

Participant 5: 3 pts rewarded closest OVER(1st-OVER) to 45 moves.

Again, the description of Participant 3, 4, and 5 are based on there being no exact prediction as made by Participant 2.

<IF> there is an exact or an under closest, the highest scoring over participant will be 2nd over. The second closest over will be 3rd over. The <ONLY> time there will be a first over is if there is no exact or under winner.

  OhioChessFan: ** Round 5 Recap **

It's total chaos in the arena after the staggering events of Round 5. As first announced, 109 points were scored, and the crowd erupted. <chessmoron> accepted the congratulations of all the contestants for his "encouragement" to do better, which exceeded even his wildest dreams.

But then <WinKing> yelled out, "We can do better than this! I'd like us to have five 10's scored that round!" <chessmoron> commented, "You're right, let me talk to someone about this.", and headed off to chessbomb to "encourage" them to change the game results. Meanwhile, <CountWedgemore> began to chant in the arena, "10, 10, 10, 10!" The crowd joined in, and soon all our contestants were chanting along.

Meanwhile, <chessmoron> went to the administrators of chessbomb and told them he wanted history changed. The admins replied, "We can't just change things like that." <chessmoron> glared at them. The admins nervously answered, "Well, uh, we need permission from the players to change their scoresheets." <chessmoron> glared at them even more menacingly. The admins said, "Oh, of course, sir, obviously, the game was 40 moves."

Back in the playing hall, the contestants and fans were continuing to chant, "10, 10, 10, 10, 10!" The bleachers were shaking from everyone stomping their feet. As <chessmoron> came back and stepped to the microphone, the crowd grew silent. <chessmoron> said, "Ladies and gentlemen, I'm proud to announce, that game is now officially 40 moves and we have five people who scored a 10 in that game alone!" The scoreboard wasn't big enough to list all 7 of the contestants who scored a 10 that round, reminding many people of the scoreboard being too small for Nadia Comaneci's 10's.

The crowd erupted and the chants grew even louder. <Penguincw> had hired the company that drops confetti at the end of the Super Bowl to come to our contest. As the streamers and confetti filled the arena, the owner of the company came to <Penguin> and said, "You know, we do expect you to pay for this. Paper doesn't grow on trees." In a panic, <Penguin> took the owner to <chessmoron> and said, "Uh, this guy wants to tell you something." The owner looked up at <chessmoron>, who glared down at him from his full 7' 6" height, clearly upset at him for interrupting the celebration. The owner of the confetti company said, "Uh, we hope you like the checkerboard patterns we included."

In other news, <juan31> joined in the fun by scoring his first points of the contest, in order to get <OCF> to quit talking about him. He commented, "Tal vez ese Yanqui se callarĂ¡ ahora."

When <DD> asked the contestants to explain the various categories, there was a bit of embarrassed silence, as everyone realized that nobody really knew. But showing the strategic sense of a seasoned veteran, <DD> decided his best chances to medal were in Bonus Ranker, and he focused all his efforts on that Ranker. He was rewarded with a strong 12 point round and hopes to continue in the second half. <OhioChessFan> continues to mumble incoherently about some Hall of Famer doing something he doesn't like. <wordfunph> commented, "Ese gringo ha estado afuera en el ardiente sol por mucho tiempo."

As for the medal situation, <Penguin> and <Winky> continue to lead 2 Rankers each, although the leaderboards have tightened up considerably.

Can the excitement and tension grow any more? Will the confetti company be stupid enough to try to send a bill to <chessmoron>? Can our contestants and <chessmoron> struggle through the exhaustion of 2 straight contests? Will Google translate work long enough for <OCF> to use it to figure out what the Spanish speakers are saying? Stay tuned for the answers to these and many other exciting questions. Only 5 rounds to go in our thrilling contest.

  OhioChessFan: ** Round 6 Recap **

It was another strong round for our contestants. Every single zero on the board got erased as our contestants apparently are overcoming their tournament fatigue. All that is, except for <chessmoron>, who slept through this round. The pressures of running the contest and making picks while living on the opposite side of the world have apparently left him in a pitiable state. <WinKing> made what appeared to be a noble gesture to take care of the scoring duties. But rumor has it he really intends to manipulate the scoring to slow down all the contestants catching up to him. <OhioChessFan> commends that kind of outside the box thinking and competitive spirit.

Shockingly, <Penguincw> has moved into the lead in 3 Rankers. <WinKing> is still holding on in the other Ranker. The field has bunched up and a number of people are very close to reaching the top.

In other news, <chessmoron> managed to post this round's results, then passed out on the arena floor. The tournament administrators thought it would be a good idea not to diturb him, so they called for a rest day tomorrow. That didn't stop <Winky> from repeatedly shaking <cm> by the shoulder, but with no response. <offramp> will use the day off to travel to Florida and knock on the chessgames.com office door and see if anyone is there. <GE> and <YouRang> have started a Mutual Admiration Society, and plan to compliment each other until someone begs them to stop. <CountWedgemore> is still trying to find what chess players are associated with the Frankfurt School, but with no luck.

We're rushing to the finish line. <Penguin> is now the man to beat, but <Winky> is right there if he falters. Nearly all the contestants still have a shot to win a gold somewhere along the way. Can <Pengin> hold on? Will <Winky> or someone else knock him out of the gold medal position? How long will <chessmoron> lay asleep on the arena floor before someone is stupid enough to try to wake him up? Stay tuned for the answers to these and many other interesting questions. 4 rounds to go in our exciting contest.
