<Format>:

[player]-[player] [result] [# of MOVES]

==4 Different Scoring Methods==

Standard Moves Ranker (1st place-Over[3pts], 1st place-Under [7pts], Exact [10pts])

Bonus Ranker (3rd place-Over[1pts],2nd place-Over[2pts],3rd place-Under [5pts], 2nd place-Under [6pts]

Standard Moves/Bonus Ranker [Add all to together]

1st place Ranker [how many 1st place you have in Standard Moves Ranker]

For example:

<Note: Participants 3, 4, and 5 are predicated on nobody scoring an exact as Participant 2 did. If someone hits an exact, the closest score under and over will score the points for second place.>

Actual Game: [player]-[player] 0-1 45

Participant 1: [player]-[player] 1/2 45
Participant 2: [player]-[player] 0-1 45
Participant 3: [player]-[player] 0-1 44
Participant 4: [player]-[player] 0-1 43
Participant 5: [player]-[player] 0-1 46

Participant 1: No points even though 45 is correct. Results must be correct. If Result is wrong and moves # is correct...you get no points whatsoever

Participant 2: 10 pts rewarded for correct Result/moves #

Participant 3: 7 pts rewarded for closest under (1st-Under) to 45 moves

Participant 4: 6 pts rewarded for the 2nd closest under (2nd-Under) to 45 moves.

Participant 5: 3 pts rewarded closest OVER(1st-OVER) to 45 moves.

Again, the description of Participant 3, 4, and 5 are based on there being no exact prediction as made by Participant 2.

<IF> there is an exact or an under closest, the highest scoring over participant will be 2nd over. The second closest over will be 3rd over. The <ONLY> time there will be a first over is if there is no exact or under winner.

OhioChessFan: And I thought Higgs Bossin' and Fake News would finish 1-2 in the Pun of the Year.....alas. I kind of liked A Dima Dozen and Mortel Error also. And by people other than me, Efim Radio and The Ballad of Jan and Gulko were far better than all of the nominated puns.
Jan-20-19  Count Wedgemore: "The Ballad of Jan and Gulko!" LOL, who comes up with this stuff?

I have some puns ready for release, but I don't want to overwhelm the admins by submitting them all at once.

  OhioChessFan: ** Round 8 Recap **

A stunned group of contestants sat shellshocked as the results rolled in. Their worst nightmare appeared on the horizon as <Penguincw> charged to the lead in 3 Rankers and second place in the other. <lostemperor> quickly became everyone else's favorite contestant, much like whoever is playing the New England Patriots automatically becomes the favorite team of all NFL fans. Some of the contestants openly discussed signing a petition pleading with <Switch> to come back to the contest to forestall a 10,000 word victory speech if the unthinkable happened and <Pengo> won a Quadruple Crown. A misguided reporter started to approach <Pengo> to ask for his views on the contest, but <chessmoron> quickly stepped in and glared at the reporter, who smartly left the building.

In other news, <juan31> apparently played the worst game of Guess the Move in site history, so bad in fact, that he broke the internet. <Count Wedgemore> continues to irritate everyone by whining about how bad he's doing in Bookie. Not to be outdone, <OhioChessFan> is incessantly whining about Kramnik and is running for President of the I Hate Kramnik Club. Defending his main man Vladdy, <wordfunph> began a shouting match with <OCF>. Fortunately, <chessmoron> stepped in and grabbed each one by the neck and lifted them to eye level, and glared at them. <OCF> very smartly said, "Sorry to bother you sir." <word> quickly added "We apologize for disrupting your contest, sir." Meanwhile, <offramp> blamed his poor performance on the site's outdated programming language. <juniper anole> inexplicably missed another round. It's uncertain if he was at the "Chess Club" or the Symphony Hall.

The contestants took a well deserved rest day, and plan to come back well rested and eager to stop <Pengo>. Can <Pengo> hold on to a Triple Crown? Can heaven forbid, he win a Quadruple Crown? Can <lostemperor> save the contest and maintain his lead in Bonus Ranker? What kind of creative excuse will someone come up with next to explain their poor performance? Stay tuned for the answers to these and many other interesting questions. 5 rounds to go in our exciting contest.
