 | | OhioChessFan: ** Round 1 Recap **
Bleary eyed, but determined to succeed, our contestants struggled through the first round. <OhioChessFan> and <WinKing> annoyed the contestants and spectators by repeatedly whining about how early the contest started. <amw> showed up 6 hours after the games ended and asked, "Have they started yet?" As for the contest, <CountWedgemore> took an early lead in 3 Rankers and <wordfunph> leads the other. All 8 contestants scored that round, which must be some sort of record for the first round of the Moves Prediction Contest. <OCF> was whining to anyone who would listen that he was only one move over the actual result twice that round, costing him 16 points in the process. Nobody cared enough to pay any attention to him. In other news, <bubuli> and <OCF> showed up with their arms in slings. While most people assumed that they had injured themselves in a blitz marathon, the truth was they'd both hurt their arms by patting themselves and each other on the back for their Pun of the Day submissions. <Count Wedgemore> continues to ignore his worried fans' pleadings to stay away from Rogoff. <Penguincw> was a stunning no-show. All the other contestants are worried he'll show up for the second round after a 60 minute speech explaining why he missed the first round. It's a short tournament, and will be over before you know it. Only eight rounds to go in our thrilling contest. |

 | | OhioChessFan: ** Round 2 Recap **
Another round far too early in the morning, but our competitors are struggling through. All of them except for <amw>, who for the second day in a row showed up in the arena long after the games were over. He got caught up watching videos on Youtube and forgot to turn in his picks. <chessmoron> had a huge round and moved into the lead in 2 rankers.
<Count Wedgemore> leads in 2, and <wordfunph> leads in Bonus Ranker. We still have 3 players with 0's in the Moves/#1 Ranker, and not much time to clear those up. Still no word from <Penguincw>, which concerns most of us, as we figure he'll make up for lost time with many words explaining his absence. We're almost at the quarter point, in a quick paced tournament. Can our early leaders hang on? Will <amw> finally get some picks submitted? Will <Penguincw> show up to thunderous applause from his adoring fans? (Maybe yes on the first part, but surely no on the second) Stay tuned for the answers to these and many other exciting questions. 7 rounds to go in our thrilling contest. |
