<Format>:

[player]-[player] [result] [# of MOVES]

==4 Different Scoring Methods==

Standard Moves Ranker (1st place-Over[3pts], 1st place-Under [7pts], Exact [10pts])

Bonus Ranker (3rd place-Over[1pts],2nd place-Over[2pts],3rd place-Under [5pts], 2nd place-Under [6pts]

Standard Moves/Bonus Ranker [Add all to together]

1st place Ranker [how many 1st place you have in Standard Moves Ranker]

For example:

<Note: Participants 3, 4, and 5 are predicated on nobody scoring an exact as Participant 2 did. If someone hits an exact, the closest score under and over will score the points for second place.>

Actual Game: [player]-[player] 0-1 45

Participant 1: [player]-[player] 1/2 45
Participant 2: [player]-[player] 0-1 45
Participant 3: [player]-[player] 0-1 44
Participant 4: [player]-[player] 0-1 43
Participant 5: [player]-[player] 0-1 46

Participant 1: No points even though 45 is correct. Results must be correct. If Result is wrong and moves # is correct...you get no points whatsoever

Participant 2: 10 pts rewarded for correct Result/moves #

Participant 3: 7 pts rewarded for closest under (1st-Under) to 45 moves

Participant 4: 6 pts rewarded for the 2nd closest under (2nd-Under) to 45 moves.

Participant 5: 3 pts rewarded closest OVER(1st-OVER) to 45 moves.

Again, the description of Participant 3, 4, and 5 are based on there being no exact prediction as made by Participant 2.

<IF> there is an exact or an under closest, the highest scoring over participant will be 2nd over. The second closest over will be 3rd over. The <ONLY> time there will be a first over is if there is no exact or under winner.

OhioChessFan: <chessmoron> we really need a statement per the Naiditsch - Svidler 1/2 0-1 prediction by <amw> <WinKing> and I didn't count it while you were gone, leaving the final decision up to you. I don't care much what you decide, but so far, you haven't commented on it. If it doesn't count, fine, but please state that. If it does count, the scoring needs to be updated because we're getting close enough to the end people do start scoreboard watching.
Apr-23-19  chessmoron: <OCF> Apology to <alfamikewhiskey>, I agree with <WinKing> and <OCF> decision.

  OhioChessFan: ** Round 3 Recap **

In a disgusting display of <air quotes> Good Sportsmanship, about half the contestants <BEGGED> <chessmoron> to give <amw> extra points! It was shocking to see alleged competitors working to help someone else win! <OCF> longs for the days when <Karposian> would have given his first born child for the privilege of taking 2 points away from <Pengo>. That's the kind of Win at Any Cost mentality that has apparently gone by the wayside. Making things worse, <amw> gave an Academey Award nominated performance, with a long speech pretending he didn't deserve the points he doesn't deserve! And everyone fell for it, as they said, "Wow, what a swell guy. He says he doesn't deserve it, which proves he does deserve it. Or something." <chessmoron> got a standing ovation as he awarded those points to <amw>. It was a completely bizarre case of zero competitive desire. Here's hoping our contestants come to their senses soon and realize that this is a <competition> and not a Group Participation Ribbon event.

In other news, <wordfunph> manned up and made a bet that Vishy could draw Carlsen. In an attempt to be clever, <bubuli> waited until Vishy had blundered his way to a losing position, whereupon <bubuli> accepted the bet. To his immediate horror, Carlsen immediately blundered right back and <word> tentatively claimed their $50 bet. I say "tentatively", as <OCF> and <chessmoron> are in deep discussions about whether betting is allowed on this forum and in this contest. They concluded that if <word> were to cough, cough, show his apprecation a little bit, then he would be free to claim the $50. <cm> stated, "You know, does he really <NEED> $50? What if he like generously donated $5 to me? That would be a very generous thing to do. I'd hate to report him for illegal gambling." <OCF> replied, "You're such a great thinker, <cm>. Probably if <word> generously donated $5 to me, I could keep this illegal activity quiet. And he'd still have $40 left."

As for the contest, apparently all 4 Rankers have like 10 people tied for the lead. Our recent Quadruple Crown winner <GE> is so far having a horrible tournament. He blamed the onslaught of reporters and fans and groupies and ESPN cameramen for breaking his concentration. He would be well advised to focus on this contest instead of his fame and celebrity, as it would surely be mortifying to follow up a Quadruple Crown with a Quadruple Clown.

We're a third of the way through, and there is no separation at the top of our leaderboards. Who can step forward and make a move? Will <GE> recover his mojo and get back to his previous awe inspiring form? Will <wordfunph> show his appreciation, cough, cough, to <cm> and <OCF>? (There's no worries about collecting from <bubuli>, as one simply doesn't say no to the 7' 6" <chessmoron> ) Will our contestants realize that nice guys finish last and stop this (air quotes) Good Sportsmanship nonsense already? Which contestant will pretend they don't deserve points they don't deserve and thereby be voted by acclaim points they don't deserve? Stay tuned for the answers to these and many other pressing questions. 6 rounds to go in our thrilling contest.
