<Format>:

[player]-[player] [result] [# of MOVES]

==4 Different Scoring Methods==

Standard Moves Ranker (1st place-Over[3pts], 1st place-Under [7pts], Exact [10pts])

Bonus Ranker (3rd place-Over[1pts],2nd place-Over[2pts],3rd place-Under [5pts], 2nd place-Under [6pts]

Standard Moves/Bonus Ranker [Add all to together]

1st place Ranker [how many 1st place you have in Standard Moves Ranker]

For example:

<Note: Participants 3, 4, and 5 are predicated on nobody scoring an exact as Participant 2 did. If someone hits an exact, the closest score under and over will score the points for second place.>

Actual Game: [player]-[player] 0-1 45

Participant 1: [player]-[player] 1/2 45
Participant 2: [player]-[player] 0-1 45
Participant 3: [player]-[player] 0-1 44
Participant 4: [player]-[player] 0-1 43
Participant 5: [player]-[player] 0-1 46

Participant 1: No points even though 45 is correct. Results must be correct. If Result is wrong and moves # is correct...you get no points whatsoever

Participant 2: 10 pts rewarded for correct Result/moves #

Participant 3: 7 pts rewarded for closest under (1st-Under) to 45 moves

Participant 4: 6 pts rewarded for the 2nd closest under (2nd-Under) to 45 moves.

Participant 5: 3 pts rewarded closest OVER(1st-OVER) to 45 moves.

Again, the description of Participant 3, 4, and 5 are based on there being no exact prediction as made by Participant 2.

<IF> there is an exact or an under closest, the highest scoring over participant will be 2nd over. The second closest over will be 3rd over. The <ONLY> time there will be a first over is if there is no exact or under winner.

  OhioChessFan: ** Round 1 Recap **

We're off and running in the Sinquefield 2019 Moves Prediction Contest! We managed to (grudgingly) drag <chessmoron> away from the "Chess Club" and get the ball rolling.

It didn't take long for <Winky> to start complaining about that lousy, crummy Nepo, who couldn't beat an ELO 1000 if he got a Pawn and 2 moves. Not to be outdone, <OCF> was complaining about that wanker Carlsen, who couldn't beat Colonel Moreau if his life depended on it.

In other news, apparently <Diademas> has been eating a lot of Spam sandwiches lately in hopes a diet change will make him better at the prediction contests. <whiteshark> took time out of his busy schedule of helping German authorities overcome Russia as the biggest source of collusion in American elections. <wordfunph> took time out of his quest to set a site record for most kibitzes in one month to join the fun here.

Meanwhile, <GE> apparently wants to start beating drums in the playing arena to help the players concentrate. <juan> thinks it's a major catastrophe if Carlsen loses a game, and it can only possibly happen if he's so sick he's at death's door. <Count Wedgemore> irritated a lot of people by complaining about that lousy ELO 2350 Shahade commentating and wondered why they couldn't get someone better, someone who at least understood en passant.

In other news, <Pengo> spent a lot of time explaining his upside down prediction methods to anybody who would listen, and that it was just bad luck that the times he tried it, it didn‘t work, and the times he didn‘t try it, that didn‘t work either. Nobody has the heart to tell him he’s just a lousy player. In a strange effort to avoid controversy, <amw> has refused to post anywhere on the site in order to avoid <OCF> using those posts to insult him. Good luck with that!

As for the contest, <OCF> and <juan> are early leaders in 2 Rankers each, while <chessmoron> is tied for the lead in 1. Just 10 rounds to go in our exciting contest.
