<Format>:

[player]-[player] [result] [# of MOVES]

==4 Different Scoring Methods==

Standard Moves Ranker (1st place-Over[3pts], 1st place-Under [7pts], Exact [10pts])

Bonus Ranker (3rd place-Over[1pts],2nd place-Over[2pts],3rd place-Under [5pts], 2nd place-Under [6pts]

Standard Moves/Bonus Ranker [Add all to together]

1st place Ranker [how many 1st place you have in Standard Moves Ranker]

For example:

<Note: Participants 3, 4, and 5 are predicated on nobody scoring an exact as Participant 2 did. If someone hits an exact, the closest score under and over will score the points for second place.>

Actual Game: [player]-[player] 0-1 45

Participant 1: [player]-[player] 1/2 45
Participant 2: [player]-[player] 0-1 45
Participant 3: [player]-[player] 0-1 44
Participant 4: [player]-[player] 0-1 43
Participant 5: [player]-[player] 0-1 46

Participant 1: No points even though 45 is correct. Results must be correct. If Result is wrong and moves # is correct...you get no points whatsoever

Participant 2: 10 pts rewarded for correct Result/moves #

Participant 3: 7 pts rewarded for closest under (1st-Under) to 45 moves

Participant 4: 6 pts rewarded for the 2nd closest under (2nd-Under) to 45 moves.

Participant 5: 3 pts rewarded closest OVER(1st-OVER) to 45 moves.

Again, the description of Participant 3, 4, and 5 are based on there being no exact prediction as made by Participant 2.

<IF> there is an exact or an under closest, the highest scoring over participant will be 2nd over. The second closest over will be 3rd over. The <ONLY> time there will be a first over is if there is no exact or under winner.

Penguincw: Woo hoo, a gold medal. And <just> enough scoring in Moves Ranker to pick up another bronze.

Geez, last place in Moves Ranker. But congrats to the medalists!

Thanks to <chessmoron> for running this, <OhioChessFan> for hosting, and <WinKing> for keeping live scores on his forum.

Hope to see you at the next one, which might be next decade.

Aug-28-19  Golden Executive: Many thanks to the crew, <chessmoron>, <ocf> and <WinKing>, for another exciting contest and congratulations to all of the medal winners, especially to my good friend <WinKing> on his amazing two triple crowns in back-to-back tournaments. Way to go <WK>!!!

I finished with 2 silvers so I'm glad with this, I focused in the Bonus Ranker but <Penguincw> took a big advantage after a huge round 8. Kudos to our Canadian friend.

See you folks next time!

juan31: Thanks to < chessmoron and OhioChessFan> and Felicidades to my Amigo <WinKing> Again 3 gold medals !!!
Aug-29-19  WinKing: Thanks <chessmoron> for running & <OhioChessFan> for hosting this elite tournament.

Congratulations to all of the medal winners! I played rather well in this prediction game & was fortunate to come away with a Triple Crown. A 30pt 4th round got me going. Still, the competition was fierce. <OCF>, <GE>, <juan>, <CW> & <Peng> you were all playing well. Anyhow this time I was the lucky one & came out on top. So many good players here anyone of whom can walk away with the honors. I just gotta say <Penguincw> you protected that Bonus Ranker like a rooster looking over his hen house. Well done walking away with that Gold. You surely earned it. I never even thought a about challenging you on that front. Enough rambling for now. I enjoy all of your company.

Aug-29-19  WinKing: Thanks for the compliments guys! :)
Aug-29-19  WinKing: I am working on updating my forum so we can have the new medal counts. Gonna be a late nighter it looks like. Coffee & cigars that's the ticket. ;)

Diademas: Congratulations to all the winners, and especially <WinKing> for making it look easy.

Also a big thank you to our glorious host <OhioChessFan> for staging and his play-by-play commentary.

Aug-29-19  Count Wedgemore: Thanks <OCF> and <chessmoron>. Congratulations, <WinKing>, on your splendid triple gold victory! Also, congrats to <penguincw> for his win in the Bonus Ranker.
Aug-29-19  alfamikewhiskey: Congratulations to the medalists! Thank you, all. See you next time.
Aug-30-19  wordfunph: muchas thanks <OCF> and <chessmoron>!

OhioChessFan: Anyone else hoping the Jabberwocky puns will be over soon?
Nov-16-19  Count Wedgemore: I think we've had enough by now. Great puns, but as Mark Twain said: <Too much of anything is bad>. He was right.

Come to think of it, he also added that too much good whiskey is barely enough. He was right on that too.

BTW, I've had several brilliant pun suggestions that have never been used. I suspect foul play. Someone is clearly bribing the judges.

OhioChessFan: <Count> I have a fantasy that a group of the best pun submitters will each be given a month each for 30 of their chosen puns...
Nov-16-19  Count Wedgemore: <OCF> I like that idea. But a whole month sounds a bit much. I'd settle for <Elite Punster of the Week>; a weekly rotation of the best pun submitters this site has to offer. You and I are of course obvious choices. Others, like <Cheapo> (horrible puns) and <Annie> (conflict of interest), will not make the cut..

OhioChessFan: <FSR> and <Phony> for sure. I know I'm forgetting some. I still want a month. I've had some picked recently that I wouldn't rate in my top 50.

FSR: Yes, I'm hoping that the Jabberwocky puns will end soon. Enough. I have about 300 puns on my Pun Submission List. I recently got a message that I couldn't submit a pun because I still had 301 waiting in the queue - so I deleted a few. For my best ever, see my comment two days ago to N Littlewood vs B Brinck-Claussen, 1963.
