I recently started playing chess again online & I beat a guy ranked 2285 in blitz chess (w/ a 10 second increment) the other day! He’s the best player that I’ve ever beaten! I also actually came close to getting a draw vs a guy that u guys r familiar w/ (A J Goldsby) @ the Pensacola Chess Club @ the Books-A-Million in Pensacola, FL several years ago. The game lasted a long time but eventually he got up 1 pawn in a ♖ endgame, queened a ♙ & then I resigned. I felt bad that I came a little short of drawing a NM but he complemented my play so that gave me some compensation & then I didn’t feel so bad.
