<Format>:

[player]-[player] [result] [# of MOVES]

==4 Different Scoring Methods==

Standard Moves Ranker (1st place-Over[3pts], 1st place-Under [7pts], Exact [10pts])

Bonus Ranker (3rd place-Over[1pts],2nd place-Over[2pts],3rd place-Under [5pts], 2nd place-Under [6pts]

Standard Moves/Bonus Ranker [Add all to together]

1st place Ranker [how many 1st place you have in Standard Moves Ranker]

For example:

<Note: Participants 3, 4, and 5 are predicated on nobody scoring an exact as Participant 2 did. If someone hits an exact, the closest score under and over will score the points for second place.>

Actual Game: [player]-[player] 0-1 45

Participant 1: [player]-[player] 1/2 45
Participant 2: [player]-[player] 0-1 45
Participant 3: [player]-[player] 0-1 44
Participant 4: [player]-[player] 0-1 43
Participant 5: [player]-[player] 0-1 46

Participant 1: No points even though 45 is correct. Results must be correct. If Result is wrong and moves # is correct...you get no points whatsoever

Participant 2: 10 pts rewarded for correct Result/moves #

Participant 3: 7 pts rewarded for closest under (1st-Under) to 45 moves

Participant 4: 6 pts rewarded for the 2nd closest under (2nd-Under) to 45 moves.

Participant 5: 3 pts rewarded closest OVER(1st-OVER) to 45 moves.

Again, the description of Participant 3, 4, and 5 are based on there being no exact prediction as made by Participant 2.

<IF> there is an exact or an under closest, the highest scoring over participant will be 2nd over. The second closest over will be 3rd over. The <ONLY> time there will be a first over is if there is no exact or under winner.

<Ohio Music Fan>

He was a child prodigy and now he's an adult prodigy!

One day he will be an old prodigy, that's how good Michael Cleveland is amirite.

Luckily I didn't have to hit myself in the head for this one. 10/10 as good as it gets.

I'm guessing the <Michael Cleveland> performance was at this year's <Ohio State Fair>?

How many butter cows did you enter in this year's event?

We have a "state fair" here as well but we are only a hamlet, so we have to call it a "hamlet fair."

We don't have butter cows or <Michael Cleveland>, but we *do* offer small hams. Very tasty!

Ah, yes, the world-famous small hams from the land of Canadia!

McDonald's features slices of them on a breakfast sandwhich, which they describe as "Canadian Bacon".

My understanding is that the most common method of preparation is known as <Canadian Bacon Bakin'>

From Detroit, I suppose?

Yes, you are quite right, sir. It is a ghastly decision between dumb and dumberer. I think Black was strategically lost after 8 moves. NOT KIDDING.

OhioChessFan: Hey <eo> things are fine in Ohio. Got my second Pfizer shot 2 Mondays ago. Going to retire in a few months. Not sure if it'll help but I'll have more time for chess. What's up with you?

Due to zero-bail, looting, rioting, arson, "Crime Watch" is the only "watch" available in 2021.

eternaloptimist: <OCF> I apologize for the delay. I’m glad things r fine in Ohio. I was in Akron about 3 or so years ago. It’s a cool city & the people were friendly.

Btw what did u think about those shots?

Congrats on retiring soon! As u said that will give u more time for chess...& the other things u love as well. Which website(s) do u like to play on? I recently started playing chess again online & I beat a guy ranked 2285 in blitz chess (w/ a 10 second increment) the other day! He’s the best player that I’ve ever beaten! I also actually came close to getting a draw vs a guy that u guys r familiar w/ (A J Goldsby) @ the Pensacola Chess Club @ the Books-A-Million in Pensacola, FL several years ago. The game lasted a long time but eventually he got up 1 pawn in a ♖ endgame, queened a ♙ & then I resigned. I felt bad that I came a little short of drawing a NM but he complemented my play so that gave me some compensation & then I didn’t feel so bad. I used to play in tournaments a long time ago but they made me get nervous sometimes. I enjoy playing online a lot better.

OhioChessFan: <eo> I was thrilled to get vaccinated. I went the first possible day. No side effects really. My arm was a little sore is all.

I currently am not online. Just some casual games with friends. Maybe I'll try lichess when I retire.

Phony Benoni: That doesn't bother me nearly as much as getting no comments on the game itself. I may no longer have the "common touch" when it comes to puns, but dang it, I still try to pick interesting games.
Apr-29-21  thegoodanarchist: < OhioChessFan: Well, I thought I knew something about puns, but I guess not. I thought today's was outstanding but it was completely ignored. Not the first time that's happened.>

I was ignoring the game, not the pun. I have no interest in looking at games between two nobodies.

Apr-29-21  diceman: <OhioChessFan: Well, I thought I knew something about puns, but I guess not. I thought today's was outstanding but it was completely ignored. Not the first time that's happened.>

The only place you can see who wrote the pun, is on the homepage, when the game is announced?

..or is there a list somewhere?

Apr-29-21

OhioChessFan: Only on the homepage. That was a <Sargon> or <Annie> innovation, and I strongly approve.
May-02-21  thegoodanarchist: And again today: I have no interest in looking at games between two nobodies.
