<Format>:

[player]-[player] [result] [# of MOVES]

==4 Different Scoring Methods==

Standard Moves Ranker (1st place-Over[3pts], 1st place-Under [7pts], Exact [10pts])

Bonus Ranker (3rd place-Over[1pts],2nd place-Over[2pts],3rd place-Under [5pts], 2nd place-Under [6pts]

Standard Moves/Bonus Ranker [Add all to together]

1st place Ranker [how many 1st place you have in Standard Moves Ranker]

For example:

<Note: Participants 3, 4, and 5 are predicated on nobody scoring an exact as Participant 2 did. If someone hits an exact, the closest score under and over will score the points for second place.>

Actual Game: [player]-[player] 0-1 45

Participant 1: [player]-[player] 1/2 45
Participant 2: [player]-[player] 0-1 45
Participant 3: [player]-[player] 0-1 44
Participant 4: [player]-[player] 0-1 43
Participant 5: [player]-[player] 0-1 46

Participant 1: No points even though 45 is correct. Results must be correct. If Result is wrong and moves # is correct...you get no points whatsoever

Participant 2: 10 pts rewarded for correct Result/moves #

Participant 3: 7 pts rewarded for closest under (1st-Under) to 45 moves

Participant 4: 6 pts rewarded for the 2nd closest under (2nd-Under) to 45 moves.

Participant 5: 3 pts rewarded closest OVER(1st-OVER) to 45 moves.

Again, the description of Participant 3, 4, and 5 are based on there being no exact prediction as made by Participant 2.

<IF> there is an exact or an under closest, the highest scoring over participant will be 2nd over. The second closest over will be 3rd over. The <ONLY> time there will be a first over is if there is no exact or under winner.

Moves Prediction Contest

Jan-31-22  Golden Executive: Many thanks to the crew, <chessmoron>, <ocf> and <WinKing> for another exciting contest and congratulations to all of the medal winners, especially to <lostemperor> on his double crown

See you folks next time, Norway looks great.

  OhioChessFan: **Final Recap**

The crowd was treated to a fantastic finish in our contest. <lostemperor> won 2 golds, and thanked his adoring fans by telling them, "Highlight my life of, this the is." <Winky> snuck in for 1 gold and reminded the crowd that the first round of the next contest would start 2 hours early and to plan accordingly. <Pengo> accepted his gold medal with his usual humility, and thanked <OCF>, <chessmoron>, <WinKing>, <chessgames.com>, the internet, the CEO of Tata Steel, all the tournament players and organizers, all the winners in this contest, all the other conestants in this contest, the inventor of chess, and many other people. Unfortunately, everyone fell asleep halfway through his acceptance speech and the rest is lost to history.

In other news, <jessicafischerqueen> had the inspired idea to enter her last round picks after the games were concluded. The plan was to take the results and tweak them a little bit to not be so obvious about it, and score like 100 points the last round. Unfortunately, she tried to copy the results of last year's tournament, or something, and her picks were as bad this round as they were the rest of the contest. But the creativity and will to win were greatly admired by <OCF>. <chessmoron> decided to give the Arbitrary 10 point bonus to <GE> this round, in recognition of his literally crawling to the contest to make his entries for the last 2 rounds. <juan>, who made a last ditch run to the medal stand was last seen pleading with the tournament organizers to add just <one more round> to the contest in hopes he could move up to the gold. <OCF> was last seen in the playing arena shouting insults at Vidit, who played like a total patzer the last few rounds and ruined every chance <OCF> had in every contest to win a medal.

After the excitement of this contest, the exhausted fans were left with little to look forward to and were heard grumbling that the lousy Super Bowl was all they had left to enjoy in life. Thanks to <cm> and <Winky> and all contestants!

Jan-31-22  WinKing: :) very good <OCF>. You havent lost your touch.

<ohiochessfan> is civil and polite in general and he does not post excessively in this forum unlike <george Wallace>/<big pawn> and <diceman> , so I treat <ohiochessfan> with civility and respect.

And I recommend that all of you people talk to <ocf> respectfully and in civil manner even if/when you disagree with him.

That way you guys can always say like "we want to have civil , mature conversations and that is why we treat <ocf> with respect and if <big pawn>/<george Wallace> and others stop being vile, indecent , offensive , we would extend the same courtesy to them also. Even now , most of us show remarkable self control in response to their vile , indecent , offensive posts "

Just my thoughts. Thank you. Regards 🙏🙏🙏

OhioChessFan: I appreciate that you are trying to be civil and constructive. It's easy on Rogoff to lose your cool, so your reminder is well received on my part.

< OhioChessFan: <Rbd>, I wish to remain with the points we have under discussion. I don't care if you respond to <GW>>

Great , then perhaps , we can together help increase 'goodness' in the world and this forum by having a productive/constructive conversation outside the domain of 'right/wrong' and instead try to expand/deepen our understanding through this conversation .

And therefore , I would invite <Gregor samaa Mendel> also in this conversation . I like <gsm> . He too is civil , mature , honest and sometimes when talking with him in past , I was not as mature as I would have liked .

However , encouraged by the attitude of <ohiochessfan> , I intend to expand my maturity through this conversation.

<Gregor samsa Mendel > asserts that objective moral values do not exist . I disagree . My position is - objective moral values exist but personal god is not needed for omv to exist.

It is late here . I am going to sleep now and tomorrow , I intend to repost the debate so far , for the benefit of <gsm

Mar-13-22  Rdb: Part 2

Also , Encouraged by the response of <ohiochessfan> , I commit that from today onward I would be civil towards <big pawn>/<george Wallace>, <diceman> , <Keyser soze> , <gezafan> - at least as long as they are civil towards me .

Heil jesus - my hero , my god.

Mar-16-22  Rdb: <perfidious: <Bureaucrat> stated no more or less than the truth, come to <ohiochessfan>>

Well , may be <ohiochessfan> is right in a way . We will see.

We need to understand <objective moral values> deeply.

And we need to inculcate teachings of Jesus - especially impersonal love of Jesus .

We going to have this conversation soon - hopefully.

Mar-16-22  Rdb: <OhioChessFan: No comment, <CIO> about my being called <@#$#@? > and <you @#$#@>?>

<  nok: Routinely calling your political opponents @#$#@ and now you complain?

>

So , how do we end this destructive cycle ?

<George Wallace>/<big pawn> is hopeless.

But we can try to have a constructive conversation with <ohiochessfan>

Can we try to understand each other instead of abusing each other ? Calling <ohiochessfan> the kind of names that <bureaucrat> is calling - is that not violence ?

I have invited <bureaucrat> to understand <objective moral values> umpteen times but he is not interested. Perhaps , like <al wazir> he too has me on ignore now.

<Bureaucrat> , if you want to end war , first eliminate violence that you have within you and expand/deepen your understanding instead.

Apr-12-22  chessmoron: On April 6th, my wife gave birth to a son during the Shanghai lockdown. We were incredibly lucky to have a maternity hospital to take care of us for 4 days. Now we are in post-partum care center for 44 days care and baby care education.

Apr-12-22  chessmoron: 20 inches but he'll grow since his legs and feet is developing rapidly than any newborn. The doctor told is that his leg and feet development looks like he's in 2 months old already.
