<Format>:

[player]-[player] [result] [# of MOVES]

==4 Different Scoring Methods==

Standard Moves Ranker (1st place-Over[3pts], 1st place-Under [7pts], Exact [10pts])

Bonus Ranker (3rd place-Over[1pts],2nd place-Over[2pts],3rd place-Under [5pts], 2nd place-Under [6pts]

Standard Moves/Bonus Ranker [Add all to together]

1st place Ranker [how many 1st place you have in Standard Moves Ranker]

For example:

<Note: Participants 3, 4, and 5 are predicated on nobody scoring an exact as Participant 2 did. If someone hits an exact, the closest score under and over will score the points for second place.>

Actual Game: [player]-[player] 0-1 45

Participant 1: [player]-[player] 1/2 45
Participant 2: [player]-[player] 0-1 45
Participant 3: [player]-[player] 0-1 44
Participant 4: [player]-[player] 0-1 43
Participant 5: [player]-[player] 0-1 46

Participant 1: No points even though 45 is correct. Results must be correct. If Result is wrong and moves # is correct...you get no points whatsoever

Participant 2: 10 pts rewarded for correct Result/moves #

Participant 3: 7 pts rewarded for closest under (1st-Under) to 45 moves

Participant 4: 6 pts rewarded for the 2nd closest under (2nd-Under) to 45 moves.

Participant 5: 3 pts rewarded closest OVER(1st-OVER) to 45 moves.

Again, the description of Participant 3, 4, and 5 are based on there being no exact prediction as made by Participant 2.

<IF> there is an exact or an under closest, the highest scoring over participant will be 2nd over. The second closest over will be 3rd over. The <ONLY> time there will be a first over is if there is no exact or under winner.

OhioChessFan: **Rounds 1 and 2 Recap**

We're off and running in the World's Most Exciting Prediction Contest. 11 of the premier prognosticators are doing battle for cyber fame and fortune. After 2 rounds, <whiteshark> has charged to the lead in 3 Rankers. He has been trying hard to be declared the President of the Magnus Carlsen Current and Future World Champion Forever Fan Club, and hopes to prevail in that after prevailing in this contest. <GE> leads in 1 Ranker, after a brilliant attempt to sabotage the contest. He created a countdown clock that ran to zero like 8 hours before the tournament started, hoping everyone would be confused and give up in despair! That's the kind of Whatever It Takes to Win mindset so often lacking here. Also leading in 1 Ranker is <WinKing>. There's a vicious rumor going around he purposely inflates his own scores on his forum page, and hopes <chessmoron> simply copies and pastes them to this page without checking. A truly admirable strategy, if true.

In other news, <offramp> decided to play the whole contest this time after his strange plan last time to only play the last round. <Messiah> managed to confuse <chessmoron> with his insulting nicknames for the players. He'd be well advised not to create one for <chessmoron> himself, as you don't mess with someone 7' 6". <paavoh> is making excuses already, claiming he's traveling and hardly has time to look at the contest. If that's true, he clearly needs to get his priorities right.<Firouzjias>, obviously Ali Firouzja in disguise, entered his picks at the last second as he decided that it's more praiseworthy to win this contest than the Sinquefield Cup itself. He decided to declare himself the President of the <WinKing> Fan Club after <Winky> gave him some extra points he didn't have coming or something. It's possible <Winky> has bet on Firouzja in the tournament itself, and hopes to create an optimistic mindset. We'll see if Firouzja splitting his time between this contest and that hurts his concentration any. <juan> upset Hans Niemann by openly suggesting he'd lose like every round. After his second round victory over Mamedyarov, Niemann smirked at <juan> as he left the playing hall.

This is a short tournament, so every point counts. You can be sure our competitors will be looking for every possible advantage, whether ethical or not, whether legal or not. 7 rounds to go in our thrilling contest.

As I did for <Tata Steel 2022> when Daniil Dubov was out of the competition. Rules: Person (s) finishes with the most correct <RESULT> will be awarded 10 points. If there's more than 1 who scores most correct, points will be divided evenly (yes, to the decimals, even). <<For example: 5 person scores the most correct result, each participants gets 2 points apiece.>>

This will affect you standings at <Moves Ranker>, <Moves+Bonus Ranker> and <Moves Ranker (# of 1st place UNDER/OVER)>.

Penguincw: I think the 10 point bonus should be saved 'til the end because it'll get confusing.

However, it's good to mention who is leading for that bonus after each round.
