The only thing more confusing than the Sinquefield Cup is this contest. Apparently <chessmoron> has invoked the little known "If Carlsen Withdraws <chessmoron> Can Give 10 Points to Whoever He Wants Rule". Nobody understands it but everyone is afraid to challenge the 7' 6" <chessmoron> about the matter. The leaderboard is the expected mess. 4 different contestants are leading the various Rankers. <Whiteshark> leads the way with the lead in 2 Rankers. <GE> <Winking> and <paavoh> lead in 1 each. In other news, Niemann now has a permanent smirk every time he looks at <juan>. <Messiah> was seen doing a celebratory song and dance outside the playing hall when Carlsen lost, and was utterly ecstatic when he withdrew. <Pengo> tried to clarify the Infamous 10 Point Rule, and as expected, made it even more confusing to everyone. Nobody knows who's winning the contest, really, although <chessmoron> promises to tell us at the end. Until then, we'll have to guess, really, who's leading. Our remaining contestants must soldier on and continue to seek fame and fortune. 5 rounds to go in our exciting contest. |

| | Penguincw: On a side note, I just realized that the 10 point bonus is given out after <each> round, not at the end. Yeah that's overkill. (less overkill if it's merely a one-time 10 point bonus) I'd rather the bonus not exist at all. Just my opinion. I'll continue participating regardless. |
