| Oct-16-16 | | Travis Bickle: That's baseball. ; P |

Oct-16-16
 | | saffuna: Yes. He forced the Dodger catcher into a mistake. |
|
| Oct-16-16 | | Travis Bickle: Kerhaw is a phenomenal pitcher, but can he be dominating on short rest plus that relief stint he did in the last game of the Washington series? |
|
Oct-16-16
 | | WannaBe: <Travis Bickle> If, <IF>, Kershaw goes 5 innings today, or 6. With Monday off, he can pitch game 5 back in LA, (If there's game 5). And with another travel day, he can come back pitch game 7 on 2 days rest. Possibly another 5 innings. If, if, if, if... And D. Roberts will put in Joe Blanton to server up another gopher ball. Ugh!! =)) |

 | | saffuna: <Kerhaw is a phenomenal pitcher, but can he be dominating on short rest plus that relief stint he did in the last game of the Washington series?> We'll know pretty soon.
That last curve he threw to beat the Nationals was hellacious. Close to unhittable. |

 | | WannaBe: Stop the game. Stop the game. Game over. Mercy rule! |

Oct-16-16
 | | WannaBe: Kershaw did not face Cubs this year during the regular season, during 2015 season, he went 1-1 vs Cubs. Won at home, lost on the road, but I'm sure that lineup was 2015 is completely different than 2016 version. |

Oct-16-16
 | | Penguincw: That was scary. After Kershaw told Roberts he wanted to face Baez, Baez almost took Kershaw deep, but luckily his 7th inning woes wouldn't haunt him this time. Nice to see Kershaw pitching efficiently on short rest. |
|
Oct-16-16
 | | WannaBe: Time to pull Kershaw:
<Doug Padilla
ESPN Staff Writer
Clayton Kershaw's postseason ERA is 3.06 in the first six innings and 28.93 thereafter, according to ESPN Stats & Info. His seventh inning in Chicago begins now.> |
|
Oct-16-16
 | | WannaBe: 1-1 series! |
|
Oct-16-16
 | | Penguincw: Cubs shutout at home in the postseason for the first time since 1918 World Series (vs. Boston). Babe Ruth was the WP that game. Dodgers underdog in this series, but in fairness, they were underdogs to win the NL West as soon as Kershaw went out, and they ended up winning it. Maybe they'll do so here as well. ---
I see Dodgers will go with Hill for Game 3. Since the Dodgers won today, I guess that means Urias will go for Game 4 (don't have to worry about bringing Maeda back on short rest or something). |
|
Oct-17-16
 | | saffuna: That looper that Baez turned into a double play in the 6th. Infield fly or not? I say yes. |

|
| Oct-17-16 | | Travis Bickle: Yo Phony, I hope your feeling right as rain! Here's a drink to your health, Nasdrovia! P.S. Phony we lost 1-0 to Dem Dodgers.. Rizzo the Cubs first bagman hit a Ruthian shot just right of the foul pole.. It could of been, would have been, should have been 1-1! They might still be playing... http://www.nbc.com/sites/nbcunbc/fi... I guess we'll have to get em tomorrow! ; P |
|
Oct-17-16
 | | saffuna: Cubs lost to the Dodgers' ace. No big deal. Up to five games left, and Kershaw will only pitch one of them. Cubs have given up FOUR runs in two games, snf onr of those a windblown home run. Brilliant pitching. And they still have Arrieta and Lackey coming up in games three and four. I wouldn't worry so much. |
|
Oct-17-16
 | | saffuna: Just tuned in. What happened to the Cleveland starter. |
|
Oct-17-16
 | | saffuna: This umpire is calling the high strike according to the rulebook. Who does he think he is? |
|
Oct-17-16
 | | Penguincw: < saffuna: That looper that Baez turned into a double play in the 6th. Infield fly or not? I say yes. > One thing I don't like about the Infield Fly Rule is that the batter is automatically out. This isn't always good (ex. 2012 NL WC game). I think a modification to this rule should be that the batter is not automatically out, BUT, should the ball be dropped, the fielders are only allowed to make a maximum of 1 forceout, with all the other runners allowed to advance to the next base. Not sure how it would work out, but I think this way is fairer. ---
< P.S. Phony we lost 1-0 to Dem Dodgers.. > Hmm, your home team are the Cubs, <WannaBe>'s are the Dodgers, mine are the Jays. Indians anyone (<Ohio>?)? |
|
Oct-17-16
 | | saffuna: <infield fly> That could make sense. It's surprising how often the players do not understand the rule. Lots of mistakes. |
|
Oct-18-16
 | | WannaBe: Thank you ESPN:
<ESPN Stats and Information The Indians have not trailed in any of their last five postseason games, one shy of the major-league record for consecutive postseason games without being behind, according to Elias Sports Bureau research. Three teams had a six-game postseason streak like that: the 1989 Athletics, 2004 Red Sox and 2012 Giants. All three of those teams won the World Series.> Elias forgot to mention this:
2012 Giants/Detroit 4-0
2004 BoSox/StL 4-0
1989 Oakland/Giants 4-0
Oh, that 2004 BoSox team's manager? Some guy, Terry Francona. You're welcome. =)) |
