 | | WannaBe: The Randy Wolf that pitched for the Dodgers!??! He's still in the league? Maybe Jaime Moyer will make a come back!! |
| Aug-20-15 | | Travis Bickle: Yo Phony, your Tigers are the best team in baseball! |
| Aug-20-15 | | Travis Bickle: They put a whuppin' on The Cubs & now that they're out of town my Cubbies are beating the Braves 7-0! ; P P.S. Top of the 8th... |
| Aug-20-15 | | Travis Bickle: Hey <wannabe> are the Dodgers any good? We gotta play them on the road a week from Friday... |
Aug-20-15
 | | Phony Benoni: Hey, Travis, these things happen. You just caught our bats hot at the wrobg time. Can't expect to win a lot of games giving up eight runs. So tonight, Alfredo Simon pitches a complete-game, one-hit shutout against the Rangers. The bullpen says, "Thank you! Thank you!!" |
| Aug-21-15 | | Travis Bickle: Congrats Phony! |
Aug-21-15
 | | Phony Benoni: Thanks, Travis, but I think the Cubs are still more likely to reach the postseason than the Tigers. |
Aug-21-15
 | | WannaBe: <Travis Bickle> Dodgers are Jekyll & Hyde. We'd do well and then boom, (like losing 2 at Oakland)... Right now the team is playing bad, badly, worse, worstly... |
Aug-21-15
 | | Phony Benoni: Gump Worstly? |
Aug-21-15
 | | WannaBe: On this day, 50 years ago:
http://espn.go.com/mlb/story/_/id/1... |
| Aug-21-15 | | Jim Bartle: Two guesses: Bob Hendley's one.hitter, or Juan Marichal smashing John Roseboro. |
| Aug-21-15 | | morfishine: I am a die-hard Orioles fan and have been since 1969. But I like the Mets too since I feel obligated to have a National league team to pull for if my O's are stinking |
Aug-21-15
 | | Phony Benoni: <morfishine> So what is your opinion of Ron Swoboda? |
Aug-21-15
 | | Penguincw: < morfishine: ... I feel obligated to have a National league team to pull for if my O's are stinking > I do that do! (If Blue Jays are struggling, I cheer for Dodgers and Cardinals, and other teams, in that order). In other news, 2 NL West players are vying for the cycle, while the Yankees (with their ace) are losing to Cleveland. The Jays also have their ace pitching, later today. |
Aug-21-15
 | | WannaBe: OK, after 5 and half innings, LAD@HOU no hit for them BUMs!!! (3 BBs) |
Aug-21-15
 | | WannaBe: Dodgers have 3 more outs to avoid the no-no... I have not the chance to look it up last time the Dodgers was no-no was T. Browning's perfecto? |
Aug-21-15
 | | Phony Benoni: Sunday: Verlander tosses seven shutout innings. Bullpen blows 1-0 lead, though Tigers win in extras. Tuesday: Tigers score 10.
Wednesday: Tigers score 15.
Thursday: Tigers score 4, with with one-hit shut-out. Friday: Verlander gives up one earned run in seven innings. Tigers lose, 2-0. Poor Kate Upton is running out of ways to cheer up her man. |
Aug-21-15
 | | WannaBe: Maybe Verlander can bat, help hisself out!! (Brady can't throw and catch, but a pitcher can hit!!) |
Aug-21-15
 | | WannaBe: Rollins flies out to right, 2 more outs... |
Aug-21-15
 | | WannaBe: Utley flies out to right, 1 more... |
Aug-21-15
 | | Penguincw: *bites on nails*
You know, the Dodgers go no-hit a couple of years ago as well: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aie.... Meanwhile, the other LA team is <also> losing 3-0 and being <no-hit>, into the 2nd. |
Aug-21-15
 | | WannaBe: Turner Ks, no hitter for M. Fier!! |
Aug-21-15
 | | WannaBe: Oh, yeah the combined no-no, before that was K. Merker of ATL. Dennis Martinez had his perfecto after Browing's, I remember the picture in LA Times, of Martinez crying after the game. Which leads to an interesting trivia, what makes Ron Hassey so special?? |
Aug-21-15
 | | WannaBe: We have another potential history in the making at Colorado. 6 for 6 in a nine inning regulation game. Y. Cespedes is 5-5, Conforto made the last out for NYM, which means Cespedes would be the 4th batter top of the 9th. Which brings up another name, Rennie Stennett. |
Aug-21-15
 | | Penguincw: Not to mention he has a solo home run, a 2-run home run and a grand slam. If 2 of the first 3 batters reach (and stay there), Cespedes could homer for the cycle. I think the only time that's happened was a team effort - by the Cubs recently. < 6 for 6 in a nine inning regulation game. > I remember one time playing an MLB video game, and my player went 6 for 6, all singles, in a game against Detroit (9 innings). Does that count? |
