The Caissars: Thank you for participating in the 2019 Caissars! We apologize for the very delayed start, which probably contributed to the difficulty of selecting deserving candidates, and will do our best to run the Caissars at the beginning of January in the future. <And now here are ...

The Caissars: You folks have won two Caissars this year: "Most Productive" and "Best Historian(s)". Congraulations; the CG community does not overlook your valiant contributions.

Jan-12-15  Abdel Irada: <FairyPromotion: OK, maybe I'll sound stupid, but. . .

<YouRang: However, the avatar is a picture of "Lurch" (of Addams Family fame), and any resemblance he has with me is mere coincidence.>

I genuinely believed that your avatar was actually an "evil" caricaturization of Bobby Fischer. Am I the only one who thought that? :-I>

That I don't know, although I thought Lurch was pretty recognizable.

Jan-12-15  Abdel Irada: —I vote for <Phony Benoni> for Funniest Poster.

(It's not just one post, although this year's winner was a great example. <PB> has a long history of posting a summary of the solution to each puzzle in the form of a witty comment before most of us even get to the page.

Even if the puzzle is so-so, I know I can count on <PB> to find a fresh angle on it.

Now, if I could only isolate what gives him this ability, maybe I could steal some. :-S)

—I vote for <Annie K> for Most Constructive.

(Go wherever you want on <cg.com> [except the <Kenneth Rogoff> forum], and you'll find her fingerprints all over what makes the page worth reading.

Oh, yes, and last year I wouldn't have been a premium member were it not for her generosity. Not that this influences my vote or anything ....)

Phony Benoni: A little late, bug I want to express my gratitude for the Best Post Caissar. When it made the Memorable Quotes list I thought it had reached its ultimate glory, never dreaming of this.

I actually used the line once before, back in 1976, following a typical game in which I swindled my way to victory. Unfortunately, the tournament was held in that portion of the Southern United States known as the Bible Belt, and I was immediately subjected to a stern sermon on monotheism.

I'm glad it got a better reception this time.

  The Caissars: The envelope please...

The winner of the 2015 Funniest Poster award goes to <technical draw> beating out that wascally wabbit by a nose.

The winner of the 2015 Most Constructive Member goes to <wordfunph>

Congratulations to them both.

Note that today is a break from voting, the festivities continue tomorrow, January 14th.

Jan-13-15  Abdel Irada: <Phony Benoni>: You may want to de-"bug" your most recent post. :-D

Jan-13-15  Abdel Irada: <The winner of the 2015 Funniest Poster award goes to <technical draw> beating out that wascally wabbit by a nose.>

Ahem! "Wascawwy."

(If you doubt me, just set your Google search language to "Fudd" and see for yourself.)

Jan-13-15  morfishine: Rest Day? I guess voting can be exhausting
Jan-13-15  technical draw: Thanks to all who voted for me for funniest kibitzer. My output was lighter than usual last year but I guess less is better. Also congratulations to all winners and to Annie K for running a good show (along with the chess bookie game).
Jan-13-15  wordfunph: my sincere special thanks to <SwitchingQuylthulg> <HeMateMe> <rogge> <hms123> <chesstoplay> <FairyPromotion>!

congrats to all other winners and mil gracias to <The Caissars> :)

from the Philippines to the world, mabuhay po kayo (more power to all of you)!

Jan-13-15  Abdel Irada: <morfishine: Rest Day? I guess voting can be exhausting>

Either that, or <cg.com> has a virulent case of triskaidekaphobia.

Jan-13-15  bubuli55: Congratz! wordfunph
Jan-13-15  Abdel Irada: Say, <bubuli55>, why didn't you vote?

Your ballot's worth just as much as anyone else's, you know.

chancho: I vote <Phony Benoni> for Best Profile.

I vote <csmath> Best Analyst

Jan-14-15  Abdel Irada: *I vote for <Domdaniel> for Best Profile.*

(This is highly subjective, but read it and decide for yourself.

But then, I like words — as you can easily tell by reading my own profile — and <Domdaniel> chooses and arranges his in ways that I particularly enjoy.)

*I vote for <Once> for Best Analyst.*

(He isn't the *strongest* analyst, and often references "the silicon monster" in his solution posts, but he's far and away the best at finding novel ways to present his solutions in the form of stories that often stay with you long after you forget the game he's analyzing.)

Jan-14-15  shivasuri4: I vote for <Domdaniel> for Best Profile.

I vote for <Phony Benoni> for Best Analysis.

Penguincw: I vote <YouRang> for Best Profile.

I will abstain from voting for Best Analysis, since I don't really pay attention to that. ;)

Jan-14-15  FairyPromotion: I vote for <Domdaniel> for Best Profile.

I vote for <csmath> for Best Analysis.

Jan-14-15  Baron Harkonnen: I vote <csmath> for best analysis.
