Jan-17-15  chesstoplay: I vote for <Magnus Carlsen> player of the year.

I vote for <The World vs Naiditsch, 2014> for Game of the Year.

TY again for all the work on this year's Caissars!

Jan-17-15  rogge: No way I'm going to vote for a computer game, too nerdy :)

I vote for Topalov vs F Vallejo Pons, 2014 for Game of the Year.

Check It Out: I vote for <Magnus Carlsen> for player of the year.

Carlsen continues to amaze. In addition to becoming the world champion in rapid and blitz, thus holding all three titles simultaneously, he defended his classical title against a tougher Anand.

Annie K.: I vote for Topalov vs F Vallejo Pons, 2014 for Game of the Year, and <Magnus Carlsen> for Player of the Year -

- with all due respect to Caruana's one fantastic tournament, Carlsen still consistently keeps the rest of the chess world in his pocket.

(Is that the rest of the chess world in your pocket, or...?) ;p

Jan-17-15  hms123: I vote for <Carlsen> for Player of the Year. <Annie> said it all (and then some).

I vote for <The World vs. Naiditsch>. I still marvel at this position:

Naiditch played <24...c6>

and his position collapsed soon after.

FSR: Damn it! I was just about to unleash my army of sockpuppets to vote for Caruana, but now it is too late! <Sob> Just kidding. If I have counted correctly, it looks like Carlsen has won it in a squeaker.

  The Caissars: The envelope please...

The winner of the 2014 Chessgames Player of the Year Caissar goes to none other than ...

Magnus Carlsen !!!

The winner (by a wide margin) of the 2014 Best Game of the Year Caissar goes to ...

Topalov vs F Vallejo Pons, 2014

THANK YOU ALL for participating in the annual Caissars celebration at Chessgames.com. We'll see you all in early 2016 to do it again!

Jan-18-15  Abdel Irada: <The Caissars>: Could you list all of the award winners for the record?

Voting has been a bit chaotic this year, and it would be great to see them all in one post.

Jan-18-15  morfishine: What about the Closing Ceremony?

SwitchingQuylthulg: Thanks to the admins (and <Annie>, who did a brilliant job keeping track of the nominations), and congratulations to all the winners!

<The Caissars> Any idea when an official HTML page listing all the winners from this and previous years will go up?

If I may, next year, can there be additional categories, such as best forum name. :)

HeMateMe: thanks <chessgames> and memebers for running a nice election.
Jan-18-15  Abdel Irada: I also repeat a suggestion I saw earlier:

Have two or more Best Post awards for different kinds of posts.

Jan-19-15  hoodrobin: <...And now 2015 can really begin!>

I mean, after the Closing Ceremony.

:-)

Jan-19-15  falso contacto: Next year. Didn't see this until now.
c6ness was disrespectful anyway. As far as I understand English.
