Jan-20-16  Golden Executive: I see <SwitchingQuylthulg> and <juan31> voted for <Golden Executive> for the Best Profile Award, but there is an error in the official Caissar's list:

<The Caissars

Welcome to << The Caissars >> It is an annual tradition of Chessgames to begin the year looking back at the previous. We're celebrating 2016 as we salute 2015, and offer these 14 categories available for awards:

[...]

<7. BEST PROFILE>

Nominees: User: AJ of Alaska, User: Golden Executive, User: Karposian, User: MarkFinan, User: parisattack, User: visayanbraindoctor>

<Golden Executive> was nominated just once, therefore he is not eligible for the voting phase according with this:

♘ NOMINATION RULES ♘

From January 8-14 we receive nominations for all categories. You may nominate up to 3 users (games, etc.) for any single category. <To qualify for the main voting phase, a user (game, etc.) must have at least two nominations.> You may not nominate yourself.

Jan-20-16  zanzibar: BTW- I may be the only one, but I get the distinct impression that <MarkFinan> likes football, a lot!

According to The Caissars chessforum you did have two nominations.

I think the term 'nominee' and 'candidate' got mixed up or confused or whatever...

Annie K.: <Golden Executive> is right, he was only nominated by one person (Penguincw) in the Best Profile category.

He certainly gets credit points for integrity though! :)

Jan-20-16  Golden Executive: <WannaBe: According to The Caissars chessforum you did have two nominations.>

They have miscounted. Fortunately, looking how the voting is going on, seems like it is not a big deal.

I vote for <visayanbraindoctor> for Best Profile.

I vote for <cro777> for Best Analysis.

<Annie K.> Your comment about me getting credit points for integrity is completely out of line. Speaking about integrity of a person is a very delicate thing. I demand you an explanation.

And I don't mind losing to that guy with the pure chess profile but mine is about the greatest footballer to ever descend from the heavens. Messi! Wait till he's gone and you're all asking where the "next Messi is?". They won't be one, he's not human and is a creation of some alien gods.

<zanzibar: BTW- I may be the only one, but I get the distinct impression that <MarkFinan> likes football, a lot!>

Just a bit Zanzy.

And whilst I'm here.. Should people who only created their handle on Xmas day even be allowed to vote? 6 days to form an opinion on all the kibitzers?

I remember the 2010 Caissars, when <Penguincw> was completely new and nominated <wordfunph> for Most Informed (or Best Informed, as the category was called then)... as a reward for solving easy mate-in-1 and mate-in-3 puzzles. No one else nominated him; this was before a second nomination was required.

What happened on voting day? People from all corners of the site voted for <wordfunph>, and he won the award in a landslide. I'm not sure what the moral of the story is, but I like stories.

Jan-21-16  cro777: Thanks to everyone who voted for me for the <best analysis> award.

Chess engines are getting better at a faster rate. Maybe one day computers will be so strong that they will solve chess. But, as IM Daniel Rensch pointed out, computers play to SOLVE, we play for the LOVE of the game.

<Annie K.> I misunderstood your post, please ignore what I said about that.

I'm working on an engine that be able to LOVE the game. Unfortunately, the processing time it spends on loving will severely degrade it's solving performance.

I'm looking for investors. Anyone interested? ;-)
