Penguincw: < Switch: ... I remember the 2010 Caissars, when <Penguincw> was completely new and nominated <wordfunph> for Most Informed (or Best Informed, as the category was called then)... as a reward for solving easy mate-in-1 and mate-in-3 puzzles. No one else nominated him; this was before a second nomination was required. >

Hehe, I remember that (I'm surprised you do as well).

While looking back at the memory and experiencing nostalgia, I noticed this post, listing the winners:

Annie K.: <Tab> they are, just not for themselves. :)

I vote for <Tabanus> for Best Historian.

I vote for <Brace Yourself, Winter is Coming> for Best (Worst) Pun.

This pun is hilarious, though maybe not so much by itself, but because it goes with a background story. I posted that during nominations, but that's some pages back by now, so I'll repeat:

<On March 12, valued chess historian and general sourpuss Edward Winter published one of his nasty little digs about chessgames.com, making it yet again obvious that he checks on the site - and the very next day, I nearly fell off my chair laughing when I saw this pun. :D>
