 | | WannaBe: <LIFE Master AJ> Sorry, upon further review, the ruling is 177 pts. I did not want to misled anyone. http://www.uschess.org/msa/MbrDtlTn... |

| Jul-24-06 | | chessmoron: <WannaBe> Nice improvement since NOVEMBER 5-6: CHESSPALACE (CA). I felt sorry for you losing 285 ELO points, but a nice gain after that. Good Job. |
| Jul-24-06 | | brankat: <WannaBe> From Your weekly revised profile: <Something about me:
USCF member, should spend more time studying games than kibitzin'.> You need to listen to Yourself more often :-) |
| Jul-25-06 | | LIFE Master AJ: 177 points ... in one tournament ... is simply fantastic!!! Good job, keep it up. :) PS
I think you must be a ton better than your rating, from your general chess comments, I would have thought you were at least 1600-1800 (or even better). Let me know if/when you hit a plateau, (I did, I think we all do.); I can offer some good ideas to get over/through these. |

| Jul-25-06 | | Open Defence: 177 points.. good show Wabbit

 | | WannaBe: What I hate:
In a game today, against <you vs. yourself> there was an exchange sequence. I calculated it, sat and looked at it, it was sound, it was good, even exchange, everything comes out copacetic. I push a (white) pawn, pxp Nxp, NxN NxN, BxN BxB, QxB QxQ, RxQ So things are great!! What followed was Nc3 forking my 2 rooks. =( Need to calculate/see the board one step further. |
| Jul-30-06 | | JoeWms: <WannaBe> "Copacetic!" Gee, I love it when you talk dirty. |

 | | WannaBe: Why is that, on my (renewed) USCF membership card, that it says member since 1005?! I'm not THAT OLD!!! |
Aug-02-06
 | | WannaBe: Never mind, just realized it means Oct, '05. Not 1005. How silly of me. |
| Aug-03-06 | | Rocafella: <Wannabe> That was a senior moment. They are the type of things you think, not post =) |

 | | WannaBe: Just finished watching another re-run episode of Star Trek the Next Generation on G4, in this episode, one of Wesley Crusher's science experiment escapes (nano-tech robots) and causes computer malfunction. The interesting thing is, during one computer malfunction, it was saying chess moves, in descriptive notation. Guess it will be in 'fashion' again in the future. =) Speaking of which, I once read on Wiki on the creator of the Algebraic notation, but I failed to remember what year it was 'created' or when the decriptive notation start to go out of fashion... Also, during my game 5 of the National Open, my opponent was writing down the moves in descriptive notation. I thought it was interesting. |
| Aug-04-06 | | chessmoron: Sorry to interrupt you beloved Star Trek, I was hoping you would join my prediction contest on basketball (World Championship style) |
| Aug-04-06 | | suenteus po 147: <WannaBe: The interesting thing is, during one computer malfunction, it was saying chess moves, in descriptive notation. Guess it will be in 'fashion' again in the future. =)> Descriptive notation becomes the standard again when 3D Chess is adopted as the standard chess game on Earth, and later the Federation. While many attempts in the successive centuries were made to convert to an algebraic 3D notation, it never caught on as a vocal means of communicating the moves. |

| Aug-04-06 | | homedepotov: How did Kirk ever manage to beat Spock at 3D Chess? In the "Charlie X" episode from the original series Charlie tries to duplicate Kirk's feat and can't and ends up so pissed off he melts the pieces with his psychokinetic powers. |
Aug-04-06
 | | WannaBe: <homedepotov: How did Kirk...> Kirk pulled the Kobayashi Maru on Spock too! =) |
| Aug-04-06 | | suenteus po 147: <WannaBe> Are you saying James Tiberius Kirk is a <cheater>? |
