WannaBe: <Trudodyr> You don't have be a programmer to be good with computers.

I've known programmers who are complete idiot when it comes to computers. (I Swear!)

The other option, that I was going to recommend, can be a little drastic, if not an over-kill.

Format your hard drive and re-install everything. But like I said, it's drastic, very time consuming. =(

Feb-02-07  YouRang: When you uninstalled playchess, did you make sure that all of the playchess folders were physically & completely removed?

Another (less likely) possiblity is that there are .INI files in your Windows folder that contain playchess settings.

Other than that, all I can think of is to use regedit to scan your registry for instances of "playchess". (But don't do anything to the registry unless you *really* know what you're doing.)

Feb-02-07  Trudodyr: <Yourang>I went to the guts of the computer-"control panel" and uninstalled it. Then I deleted all of the folders and checked to make sure it was all gone by searching all files and folders for any "playchess" or "chessbase" folders. Found none. Then I reinstalled it.
btw,I save it the computer then install.Could that be an issue? <wannabe>I would be afraid that i would mess something up.:)

WannaBe: <Trudodyr> what do you mean by "btw,I save it the computer then install." ??
Feb-02-07  Trudodyr: <Wannabe>When you go to playchess.com you click on the "download the free client software". Click on that then it gives you two options: -open the file
<or>
-save it to computer

I always choose the second choice.

WannaBe: Ah, I see, that is what I do too. by saving it, it lets my virus checker have a chance to examine the file.
Feb-02-07  Trudodyr: <Wannabe>I still don't get it,but oh well. Now I hear that <Raffael> was on yesterday and today.....sigh...
Feb-03-07  Open Defence: <Okay, guys, stop using shampoo. Girls, can I buy you, like a ton of it? =)> LMAO!! do guys have baths even?
Feb-03-07  Archives: <do guys have baths even?>

Does getting wet from the rain while running count?

If so, then yes I do bathe.

chancho: Last season the Pats beat the Steelers who then went on to win the Super Bowl, and this season the Pats beat the Bears, so... Naw! Colts win.

WannaBe: So far, I enjoyed the blockbuster commercial with the rabbit/hamster/mouse.

The Doritos was cute. Sierra Mist sucked.

Feb-04-07  chessmoron: Go Daddy is HOT HOT!!!

Feb-04-07  positionalgenius: face slap good...

OhioChessFan: GPS was lame. Pizza Poppers was good. Mr Hadley and the coke was great. Dalmatian was okay, although very derivative. Rube Goldberg Coke Machine was very good.

tpstar: You know the commercials are uninspiring when you find yourself looking forward to the Kevin Federline spot.

I thought the Coke ads were the most innovative, and the talking animals were cute. Nothing earth-shattering though. The big Super Bowl surprise? Prince still rules! ;>D

  WannaBe: My favourite ads...

1. Blockbuster with bunny/hamster/mouse
2. Wedding w/ auctioneer
3. Coke w/ Goldberg contraption.
4. NFL's own ad, with Favre at the end.
5. Bud, with the crabs/beer cooler.

WannaBe: You *may* have noticed that I didn't kibitz one bit in the second half, I was down at the watering hole watching the game.

(I figured all the good commercial are done/over with.)

Plus I had to check out what numbers I drew for the pool.

Tony Dungy. I LOVE YOU FOR NOT KICKING THE FIELD GOAL!!! I LOVE YOU MAN!

Because if you kicked the field goal, the final digits would not have been 9-7.

Guess who won the final score pool down at the watering hole? :-))

Feb-04-07  Chess Classics: Wedding w/auctioneer was the best. Blockbuster was good. Honorable mention should go to the Sierra Mist commercial with Jim Gaffigan (both of them, actually) and the one with the 2 baboons trying to hunt the bud light man in the jungle.

Regards,
CC

OhioChessFan: Didn't see the auctioneer or the crabs. Didn't like the Gaffigan combover at all. Animal commercials tend to bore me, but the baboons were inspired. The Letterman/Oprah was hilarious. The NFL/Favre was hilarious.

  WannaBe: <OhioChessFan> Go to : http://cbs.sportsline.com/nfl/posts...

and the auctioneer is under 1st quarter, Bud Light: Reception, (Lower right hand corner)

For the crab: Go to 4th quarter, look for Budweiser: King Crab.
