WannaBe: In case I forgot, congrats to them Lady Bruins. =)) U. Mich (69-63) won, but the last spread I saw was -6.5, so if you took UConn w/ spread, you got very lucky, if you bet on them U. Mich, I feel bad; the O/U was 148.5

WannaBe: <CIO> LOL. I remember those mems... <chancho> North by Norwest, totally agree, the audiences know that the plane scene was filmed earlier and played on a screen behind. It was still drama. Same thing with the Mt. Rushmore chase scene.

WannaBe: ¡Olé! ¡Olé! this is what I see for "¡Olé! ¡Olé!" (game of the day Mar-13-2026) I also know this issue have been around for a while, and it's not that important, in IT term, it is a level 'C', cosmetic fix. But I just wish to report it again. Can CG.com unify this ...

WannaBe: <hitman84> also, wuaudt.exe and waudt1.exe are real programs, they are the windows automatic update executables.

At times, they will run and check to see if new patches/fixes are available from Microsoft.

Do not delete those, you can try to delete the wuaudt10.exe, but the virus will only return if you don't have the protection against it.

Also, juding from what I read from symantec, it does change your registry, and leave other undesirables on your system.

WannaBe: Dang it! The release of the latest Martin Cruz Smith Novel (Arkady Renko Mystery) have been pushed back 2 month! =(

It was suppose to have come out this week! Waaaaaaa!

Apr-05-07  Knightlord: Hi Wannabe, I accidently removed Realplayer from my computer. Is there any chance I can get it back? I have an original Windows xp home cd. I installed it again but I got the same settings/preferences (sorry I'm not good at technical English)

WannaBe: <Knightlord: ... I installed it again but I got the same settings/preference...>

Are you saying you want to restore the software preference to what you had, before you removed the RealPlayer?

Apr-05-07  Knightlord: Well it's already a long time ago (more than half a year ago) so that's maybe a problem isn't it?

WannaBe: <Knightlord> When a software gets removed, any previous users' preference or settings are 'generally' also deleted.

If you re-install the software, and in your case it's been 6+ month, the only way to get the RealPlayer back to the way you like it, is to re-configure it again. =(

Apr-05-07  chessmoron: <Knightlord> Why don't you install Windows Media Player? http://www.microsoft.com/windows/wi...

Choose Player 11 in select version. RealPlayer is old school IMO.

Apr-05-07  Knightlord: OK, I get it, I was already afraid so. Well maybe I'll just do that anyway, thanks!
Apr-05-07  Knightlord: Hi Borat! Yes I have Media Player, so RealPlayer is old school? OK, I didn't know that, thanks. Sorry I'm a caveman with computers (and with women as well :-0)
Apr-05-07  NakoSonorense: Hey wannabe... do you work with C++?
Apr-05-07
Premium Chessgames Member
WannaBe: <NakoSonorense> Not really, I work mostly with Java/XML right now.

You talking about just regular C++ (Borland? Do they still exist? WindRiver Systems, etc...) Or Microsoft's Visual Studio? (.NET or the earlier version?)

Or just a general computer programming language question? =)

Apr-05-07  NakoSonorense: Well, I'm taking a course on computer programming in which we will be using C++ with M. Visual Studio and I wanted to ask you if you are familiar with it just in case I have a quick question. =p

WannaBe: <NakoSonorense> I think programming language/concepts (as a whole) I feel comfortable answering. I just don't know the in(s)/out(s) of the Visual Studio's various options.

(Besides the option to compile in debug/release mode, maybe a few other bells and whistles...)

I do have Visual Studio 6.0 on my computer, (.NET is 7.0, I believe) so, if you know which version you will be using, let me know.

Apr-05-07  Artar1: <WannaBe: Yar, crap, looks like we lost <OhioChessFan> =(>

What happened to OhioChessFan? Did he leave chessgames.com? Thanks!

WannaBe: <Artar1> I believe he did, from his profile, and I believe it's because of the deletion of his posts on the Pesci page.
Apr-06-07  ganstaman: C++ is the devil. Learn python, it's the best language out there. But I guess you don't really have a choice when you work for the Devil or take a class in Devil worship.
Apr-06-07  Artar1: I'm really sorry to hear this. Ohio is a great guy. Is there any way to entice him back?
Apr-06-07  Archives: < I believe he did, from his profile, and I believe it's because of the deletion of his posts on the Pesci page.>

What was wrong with his posts?

Apr-06-07  Eyal: <I believe he did, from his profile, and I believe it's because of the deletion of his posts on the Pesci page.>

Perhaps you mean the Piscopo page?

Mar-19-07 (chessgames.com chessforum) <OhioChessFan: Chessgames.com, could you explain your decision to remove all posts from the Piscopo page?>

<chessgames.com: <OhioChessFan> We received a complaint from somebody who believed it was disrespectful to Pierluigi Piscopo, and we concurred. If I understood what was going on correctly, several people were using the page to relay jokes told by comedian Joe Piscopo. Of course that's off topic, but the complaintant rightfully pointed out an obvious aggravating factor: Joe Piscopo's humor derives largely from poking fun at Italian stereotypes, and perhaps Pierluigi, being Italian, finds that humor in especially poor taste. There are many player pages where harmless off-topic fun is tolerated (T Music, Beer, etc.) but these are exceptional cases and not a general rule. Unlike "T Music", Pierluigi Piscopo is a relatively strong and well known player.

Please understand, we're not upset with anybody, and no harm was done, but in this case we had to side with the Whistle-blower.>

WannaBe: <STYNTZ> to copy/paste a game to a computer engine...

Just highlight the (section) of the PGN. (e.g. put your mouse right before the header of the game's PGN) then hold down the left button of the mouse, and drag the mouse to the end of the PGN.

Then select (from the menu bar) Edit->Copy.

Then launch your Deep Fritz (you can launch your Fritz first, then highlight/copy, doesn't matter...) and select from Fritz's menu bar Edit->Paste->Game

I hope this helps, if you need more info, please let me know.
