WannaBe: In case I forgot, congrats to them Lady Bruins. =)) U. Mich (69-63) won, but the last spread I saw was -6.5, so if you took UConn w/ spread, you got very lucky, if you bet on them U. Mich, I feel bad; the O/U was 148.5

WannaBe: <CIO> LOL. I remember those mems... <chancho> North by Norwest, totally agree, the audiences know that the plane scene was filmed earlier and played on a screen behind. It was still drama. Same thing with the Mt. Rushmore chase scene.

WannaBe: ¡Olé! ¡Olé! this is what I see for "¡Olé! ¡Olé!" (game of the day Mar-13-2026) I also know this issue have been around for a while, and it's not that important, in IT term, it is a level 'C', cosmetic fix. But I just wish to report it again. Can CG.com unify this ...

WannaBe: <FSR> March 11 is his birthday, and usually PoD is chosen from the birth date of the player. So unless CG.com decides to change the algorithm on how PoD is decided. We will randomly get "undesired" player(s).

WannaBe: So... I'm going to pick up some lunch... heading down the freeway (405 South) I see these 2 Highway Patrol motorcycle, followed by 5 or 6 government-looking cars.

You know, the kind with dark, dark, tinted windows and licence plate that says exempt, California plates, not U.S. Federal government plates.

And then followed by another pair of Highway Patrol on motorcycles bringing up the rear...

Not sure if it's W. or Arnold, heading south to check out the fire...

WannaBe: We are now up to 1 million people displaced/evacuated.

http://www.cnn.com/2007/US/10/23/fi...

On that page, if you look a bit north of San Diego, that's where <JoeWms> is, and because of the fire to the north, he currently can't get out, and come to stay with me. If you look at Irvine, and look north a bit, that's where I am at...

Gonna go and get my marshmallows, chocolate, and some crackers...

WannaBe: According to this: http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page... I should be rooting for the Rockies... (Dodgers fan).
Oct-24-07  NakoSonorense: According to your cnn link, the Malibu fire started on Sunday at 4:50 AM. I went to SM beach that morning and saw some smoke coming from the north, but I never thought it was that serious.

Anyway, I think you should've followed those gov't cars to find out who they were transporting...

WannaBe: Errrr... To clarify, that SM beach stands for Santa Monica... Not what you'd think.
Oct-24-07  NakoSonorense: *puzzled*

Oct-24-07  JoeWms: AP: Orange County Fire Chief Chip Prather told reporters that firefighters' lives were threatened because too few crews were on the ground. He said a quick deployment of aircraft could have corralled a massive blaze near Irvine. "It is an absolute fact: Had we had more air resources, we would have been able to control this fire," he said.

WannaBe: <JoeWms> That's like someone saying if they had more money, they'd be out of debt.

California public services from prison guards down to local firemen and policemen's union have been holding the public hostages with their money demands (pay raises), but yet can't find it in their budgets for their own equipment.

How would it be, if police or sheriff chief comes on TV and say if they had more guns they'd stop crime? Find it in your budget, this is not the first time we have fire, probably not the last time we have fire.

Next time, the newspaper publishes the salary of our public employees, take a very close look at how much money they make. (Or have the Mrs. read them to you...) And ask ourselves, do they deserve to make that much money.

Here: http://dailydispatch.com/news.asp?n... city of Glendale, looking for a fire chief, salary range is $172,000 to $215,000. Depending on prior experiences.

WannaBe: This is somewhat interresting, http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20071025... the 'prestigious research institution.' as described in the article, was founded to study eugenics.

You can do a google search: http://www.google.com/search?ie=UTF... or you can read "War against the Weak" by Edwin Black (which I have a copy) http://www.amazon.com/War-Against-W...

Somewhat ironic, if you ask me.
