WannaBe: <OhioChessFan> I did a really quick look up on google, http://www.google.com/#sclient=psy&... because I do not know your PC's maker (Dell, HP, Mac, etc.) not was I was ascertain if you had a power strip connected, (I am imagining you did, because your PC still works.)

There are still a few unknowns/variables that I wish to know about before any solution can be obtained.

This is my current recommendation, send me your phone number, and the best time to call you on Sunday, June 12th, I have plenty of spare time before 7:00 PM Eastern.

I am able to walk you through and ask questions as you are at your computer, and be able to gather as much information and get a solution as soon as possible. I will be able to do all the search/look up from my end, while we try to diagnose and solve this issue.

If you have lost my address, it is kstc_jyu at yahoo.com

I usually check my e-mail around 2 PM Eastern time.

WannaBe: I, am, going to start a new category, with the help of ESPN's online web-site.

It will be called <Believe it or not category!!>*

On this day, June 13th, 2003, Roger Clemens recorded his 4,000th strikeout, <AND> his 300th win, in the same game!

Unfortunately, the Hall of Fame refused to accept him as a member, because according to section XXIVCMD, sub clause IIVXDMLDVC, which states, that no person, with an extra ear growing out of their forehead shall be admitted into the 'Hall', unless, or until, Jackie Robinson also grows an appendage in the same locale.

*Thank goodness that Ripleys is no longer with us, otherwise I just might get sued. Also, this category, is not and will not be a daily posting, (too much work) I will post something when it 'humours' me. (says the wabbit, with a bit of nasal highfluting, egotistical, royalty-bred ala in-your-face via Lebron James arched eye-brow look.)

1. Are you also downloading something else at the same time? e.g. youtube watching, and also downloading a movie in the background?

3. Does it happen after your computer have been running for a while? Are other process/programs eating up your RAM?

4. What is your connection speed? DSL? Cable? Fios? Do you share the connection with anyone else in the house? at work? Are they downloading something big that you are not aware of?

  WannaBe: on the right track.

Somehow I clicked post before I finished typing...

Jun-21-11  Travis Bickle: <WannaBe: [Travis Bickle] A couple of things...

1. Are you also downloading something else at the same time? e.g. youtube watching, and also downloading a movie in the background?>

No just playing a song from youtube will stop usually after a minute or so, (the red dot that moves on the grid below the video catches the red line tracking that starts out ahead of it.

<WannaBe: 2. What is your CPU/RAM capacities? Anything under 1 Gigs may cause issues.>

Here is my system specs, AMD Phenom II Processor. ATI Radeon HD graphics with 512 MB dedicated graphics memory. 8 GB DDR3 memory Windows Vista 64 bit.

<WannaBe: 3. Does it happen after your computer have been running for a while? Are other process/programs eating up your RAM?>

I don't think it has to do with how long computer is running. (Although when I play Tiger Woods Golf game I notice after awhile into the game the fan comes on).

It seems that maybe something at times is slowing my computer down when I get a message saying, a program appears to be running slow on your system, or something to that effect.

<WannaBe: 4. What is your connection speed? DSL? Cable? Fios? Do you share the connection with anyone else in the house? at work? Are they downloading something big that you are not aware of?>

I have DSL. This is the only computer in my home. No downloading being done unless a hacker has control of it. I regularly run Malwarebytes/Anti Malware, Spybot Search & Destroy programs and the latest Norton anti virus, which I run at least once a month.

WannaBe: <Travis Bickle> Okay, I noticed one thing, this may or may not be related, but it does relate to an answer that I gave to <NakoSonores> via e-mail, when he asked me a very similiar question...

<I don't think it has to do with how long computer is running. (Although when I play Tiger Woods Golf game I notice after awhile into the game the fan comes on).

It seems that maybe something at times is slowing my computer down when I get a message saying, a program appears to be running slow on your system, or something to that effect.>

Is your system a laptop or a desktop, <Nako> have a laptop, and it has been stopping/crashing on him, and he asked me about cooling pads.

I e-mail him my 'solution' that is, put an empty cigarette pack under each side of his laptop's fans, and give the laptop an extra 1/2 to 3/4 inch of 'breathing' room.

Voila, he e-mail me back, the crashing symptoms seems to be gone, but not scientifically proven yet, so far, the solution have worked, (albeit, he is using some rubber erasers to prop up his laptop...)

Nevertheless,

If, if you are using a laptop, and the airway is blocked, or, if your laptop have been on for a while, it will heat up, (hence, people want to sell you a cooling pad!)

I notice, after 2 hours of playing civilization, my computer gets rather 'sluggish'...

This is because as my civilization and others grow, more RAMs are required to keep track the progess of the game.

On the first tee/hole, the game probably don't require that much memory, but as you progress, and as the graphics gets more and more involved, (Sometimes, and often times, the garbage/memory cleanup are sucky, at best, if not, none at all)

This will cause slow down, as your computer have to start swapping/caching things to the hard drive.

The other question, that I failed to ask, is, if you look at your HD activity light, is it going nuts, constantly on, non-stop...

This is a sure sign, your RAMs are running out, and your CPU are writing your hard drive, with a bunch of temp files.

Jun-21-11  Travis Bickle: My computer is a desktop hewlett packard.

I'll have to look at that as I havent before.

P.S. I use CCleaner for garbage on my system and also have a Registry cleaner. I just linked a few songs and everything was fine maybe youtube had a bad day, (I hope)! ; P

Thanks for the help!

WannaBe: I, personally love to screw with people's brain, or just plain messing with them.

One of my favourite thing to do, is in the grocery store, in the vegetable section, when they sprinkle water on the veggies, they play this little 'thunder' music, like it's going to rain.

So I always look up, and hold my hand out like I am expecting rain, and I put on this funny disgusted look on my face, like, 'rain, now?!' look.

This video, made me laugh so hard, it reminded me of 'Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil', with the invisible dog, and just the way they are messing with people!

WannaBe: John Mackey passed away today, I had the fortune of meeting him numerous times, he liked to hang out at Yankee Doodles in Long Beach, drink a glass of white wine.

I have a photo taken with him when he wore his Super Bowl and Hall of Fame ring.

There was also a special done by ESPN about 6 or 7 years back when John fell ill. It was very worth watching, if you have a chance to view it.

RIP

WannaBe: The match between Brazil and US earlier today (or yesterday) is probably one of the most exciting soccer match I have ever seen. (And one of the worst, when it comes to officiating... Personal opinion on both fronts.)

I am very much looking forward to the semi-finals, USA-France, and the earlier game, Japan-Sweden.

I think, and predict, that USA will face a rematch with Sweden in the final... (Keeping my fingers and toes crossed! =)

WannaBe: Very tongue in cheek, http://espn.go.com/sports/soccer/ne...

My personal favourite comments at the 76th minute of the WWC between USA and Brazil, as best as I can remember it:

Julie Foudy: "USA have 24 minutes to (blah blah blah blah)"

Ian Darke: "Actually, it is 14 minutes, it's back to the class room for you in the morning, Julie."

JF: (laughs)

I love this Ian chap, very, very, very humourous, you have to pay attention to what he is (not) saying, and such dry, dry, and wry sense of humour.

God, I love that. =)
