| Nov-18-11 | | NakoSonorense: There are way too many college sports. No way to follow them all. I don't even know where UCLA plays baseball. I'm sure it's not at Drake or any other fields on campus. |
Nov-18-11
 | | WannaBe: They play at Jackie Robinson Stadium. On the other side of the 405 freeway. =) |
Nov-18-11
 | | WannaBe: Pre-season #16 UCLA Bball is 0-2, after home losses to Loyola Marymount (CA) and Middle Tennessee State Univ. (by 20 points, 20 freakin' points!) Maybe we'll qualify for the Division III NIT. Coach Wooden must be cryin'. |
Nov-18-11
 | | WannaBe: We will start issue #4 Monday, with break for Thanksgiving, if necessary. Hopefully we'll have it wrapped up around early December, and notify Mr. Freeman to put Caissar into Winter Newsletter. |
| Nov-21-11 | | hms123: <Issue 4> (which I assume is the use of English) I think that the award needs to be for contributions that are made in English. I am aware of posters who may post primarily in another language but whose contributions to the POTD, ChessBookForum, Live Games, Team Games, etc. are in English. They would certainly be eligible for an award, even if the bulk of their posts on their home forum are in another language. My reason is a simple one: I would like to recognize those contributions that have the widest potential availability to the users of the site. If someone sees the results of the Caissar awards and wants to read the analysis, or the writing, or what it means to be constructive or helpful on the site, then that user should be able to follow up by reading the posts made by the winner of a category. In addition, I don't want to get in the business of having an award for the best Spanish post, or Norwegian post, or German-post, or Dutch post, etc. That way lies madness. |
Nov-21-11
 | | WannaBe: Anybody? Anyone else? =) This was, I believe, <THE> top/hot discussion during the Caissar earlier this year. |
| Nov-21-11 | | hms123: <Wannabe> I win!! Unless someone else steps up. Maybe I am just too reasonable. |
Nov-22-11
 | | WannaBe: We'll leave it open at least until 30th, then I will notify Mr. Freeman to put Caissar into the Winter Newsletter. I know there is the Humpy-Hou Championship, and Tal tournament, maybe people are busy, and can't voice their stuff. |
Nov-22-11
 | | OhioChessFan: I will grudgingly share my opinion, trying to suppress my It-Just-Doesn't-Matter-Reflex. I think this is an English language site and the winning posts should be in English. I don't envy the poor rabbit that has to announce that, but if the same thing happens again this year, the Caissars are toast. |
Nov-22-11
 | | WannaBe: <OhioChessFan> That would really open a can of worms... =) |
| Nov-24-11 | | technical draw: Thanks for the welcome back <WannaBe>. Not 100% yet but (hopefully) getting there. |
Nov-25-11
 | | WannaBe: USA! USA! USA! USA!
http://sports.yahoo.com/soccer/blog... World Cup 2080 Champions! (Hey, you gotta start somewhere...) |
Nov-26-11
 | | WannaBe: We're the Pac-12 South Champs, we're the Pac-12 South Champs*!! *Thanks to NCAA sanction on USC. If Oregon beats Oregon St. today, UCLA goes to Eugene, if not, we go to Palo Altos! I'd still make UCLA a 3-touchdown underdog against either team. |
Nov-26-11
 | | WannaBe: Not a good start for the Bruins, and we have to go to Eugene and play Oregon?! How about we abdicate and let ASU go? |
Nov-26-11
 | | WannaBe: Ouch, 14-0... We got stuffed on 4 and goal from the 1, they drove 99 yards for TD... =( Fire Rick! |
Nov-26-11
 | | WannaBe: Ouch, ouch, ouch, it's so embarassing, SC went for 2 after scoring their 3rd touchdown... 22-0. Can't wait to play Oregon. Fire Rick! |
Nov-26-11
 | | WannaBe: Okay, half-way through the second QTR, game over. Fire Rick! |
Nov-27-11
 | | OhioChessFan: 50-0 and it wasn't as close as the score might indicate. I think they'll be more than a 3 TD underdog. |
| Nov-27-11 | | hangingenprise: holy double ouch and iodine batman, good thing the sisters of mercy were
there to help on the field.
do ah, isn't this a flag football game? overheard one bruin "football"
player to another.
eugene, this will be very painful to watch, but it only last for 60 minutes and you can always cover your eyes.
it will only |
| Nov-27-11 | | hangingenprise: <wannabe> i hope that you are not still hearing the usc fight song
as backgroud music. |
| Nov-27-11 | | hangingenprise: keep rick campaign: usc needs a good scrimmage game to keep them sharp. |
Nov-27-11
 | | WannaBe: <hangingenprise> Yeah, that ringing in my ears hasn't stopped since 2nd QTR last night... Think I got my bells rung. <OhioChessFan> Okay, 24 pts then! =) |
Nov-27-11
 | | WannaBe: UCLA 6-6 over-all, will play at Eugene, Oregon for the inaugural Pac-12 Championship game, Friday Dec. 2nd 8PM Eastern. That is good, Friday night, everyone is out on the town, movies, bars, up scale dinner at fancy restaurants with table clothes, vauldville shows, drive-ins, nickelodeons. Less people will witness this fiascal of a 'football game'. My recommendation?! Go watch Twilight the movie, or go to your local museum, anything but watch this game. Fire Rick!! |
| Nov-27-11 | | NakoSonorense: O ye of little faith! |
Nov-27-11
 | | WannaBe: <NakoSonorense> My friend, I am not of little faith, I am a realist! =) You got my message about job board at my company? |
