It seemed to run much more smoothly than other years and also seemed more open and inclusive. Only one last thing remains. I'd like to invent a "Public Vote" caissar for services to the caissars over the last four years. And my nomination and vote goes to ... <WannaBe>. |

As Winston Churchill said: "It has been said that democracy is the worst form of government except all the others that have been tried." We can probably never eliminate tribal voting, and I don't think we should try. If someone receives an award that their friends engineered for them, then so be it. There will always be that nagging doubt that they didn't really deserve or earn the award. Maybe they will notice that, maybe they won't. But the rest of us can let is pass with a little wry smile. |
