chessgames.com: <FSR> OK, thanks. That means there are two of them now: Dimitry Gurevich and Dimitry Gurevich.

FSR: <chessgames.com> It is <Dmitry>, not "Dimitry." Geez.

chessgames.com: I'm sorry, got it now. So now we have Dmitry Gurevich and Dimitry Gurevich. Is the second entry wrong as well? Could the 1990 game be Dmitry's?

FSR: <chessgames.com> The 1990 game, D Gurevich vs A Ford, 1990, very likely belongs to Dmitry Gurevich, particularly since the database contains another game that he played in the tournament, D Gurevich vs D Eckert, 1990. As you evidently realized, Chekhover vs D Gurevich, 1954 can't be him since Dmitry was born in 1956.
Dec-09-17  zanzibar: RUSbase has two Gurevich games from 1954, including the Chekhover game.

Both are given simply as <Gurevich>.

I would follow this example, unless someone has an affirmative source.

Dec-09-17  zanzibar: Does anybody have Di Felice, CR 1951-1955 ~p362+ might have Gurevich's name.

I can't see the relevant pages on preview.

chessgames.com: Chessgames is only a few hours away from being 16 years old. In celebration we dug up all of the "birthday logos" that we could find. Interesting to see the evolution of the cake into what now looks like a fire hazard.

The 11th annual Chessgames Present Hunt Clues Page will begin to spit out 64 prizes sometime tomorrow. We're not saying when tomorrow, but it will be tomorrow. Good luck!

Dec-10-17  Alien Math: <chessgames> while tweeting on twitter for feedback about AlphaZero i encountered <Chess Club Live @ChessClubLive> who had the following notes,

<Are you referring to this stats on the 1,300 games played between AlphaZero and @stockfishchess?> and

<ah ok we analysed all 1300 games broken down by opening and AlphaZero actually loses to Stockfish in some opening especially when AlphaZero has the black pieces> maybe you could barter with them on twitter to see how to obtain some extra pgn from the AlphaZero vs Stockfish encounters

Dec-10-17  paavoh: Happy birthday Chessgames, and I wish many more to come!

chessgames.com: <you could barter with them on twitter to see how to obtain some extra pgn from the AlphaZero vs Stockfish encounters> That's a good idea. There would be no reason why Google should be unfriendly to the chess community, especially if they have data which is of great interest to us. That would just be bad PR.
