Feb-01-10  suenteus po 147: <chessgames.com> Among other games I submitted via the PGN Upload Utility today was the game Nunn-Andersson, 1/2 1990. This will need to be flagged to go through because it is (sadly) a replay of a game Nunn drew 7 rounds earlier in the same tournament: Nunn vs M Gurevich, 1990 It will be bounced otherwise. As always, my great appreciation for all the assistance.

Feb-06-10  whiteshark: Moscow Open (2010) is really demanding some game updates. Thanks :D
Feb-07-10  Karpova: There are pictures of Gulishkan Nakhbayeva at wikimedia commons - link: http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/C... - one of them could be used for her player page, couldn't it?
Feb-07-10  Blunderdome: I'd like to see a forum for this year's Aeroflot Open. The games from Moscow would be nice too.
Feb-07-10  notyetagm: <CG.COM> Please create a forum for the <2010 Ukrainian U-18 Championship>, almost won by 13(!)-year old Nhyznyk.

Thanks

Feb-07-10  notyetagm: <CG.COM> And could we also have a forum for the <2009 French Championship>, a major championship that you seem to have overlooked?

Thanks

Feb-08-10  Eyal: <CG> There's a mistake in the score of F Caruana vs Nakamura, 2010 from Corus - White's 36th move should be Qc1 rather than Qd2 (it's a transmission error that was later corrected in the official pgn; it also leads to the impression that Nakamura missed a win a couple of moves later, which he actually didn't...)

Btw, you still have the duplicate in Corus B that I mentioned earlier.

Was about to do this, but do you know the current carrot/dollar exchange rate? And is the carrot-quality taken into account?

Feb-08-10  whatthefat: <chessgames.com>

I've noticed that when I use the search function to find a post, I am provided with a link of the form:

www.chessgames.com/perl/chessplayer?pid=A&kpage=-
B#replyC

where A, B and C are numbers. I understand that A is the player page number, B is the page number, and C seems to correspond to the post number on that page. The problem comes when somebody else tries to use the same link. If they don't have the same people on their ignore list, then post number C is no longer on page number B for them, rendering the link faulty. It seems to me that it should be sufficient to give only the post number, but I don't know what syntax that requires for the url.

Feb-09-10  whatthefat: Question answered, don't worry!

chessgames.com: <Whatthefat> I'm sure you figured it out, but for the benefit of others, we'll say that links with page numbers in them (e.g. kpage=13) are not guaranteed to work for other people. Not everybody sees the same page #13.

To address this issue we made a script that does the work of properly linking to posts, taking into account all of the little details like ignore lists and whether you are in top-to-bottom or bottom-to-top order. If you hover your mouse over such a link you'll see "/perl/kibitzing?kid=____&reply=____", but the instant you click on it you'll be whisked away to somebody's post.

For example, this links you directly to a comment by <patzer2>:

Carlos Torre vs M Schapiro, 1924

As it stands you are just peering into the machinery behind the scenes. It's not documented nor will it be. However, future features like "permalinks" and "bookmarks" will be possible due to this alternate linking method.

Feb-13-10  hms123: <chessgames.com> When I tried to use <search kibitzing> to search for User: Russian Grandmasters it came up empty. The function works for all the other users I tried. Any ideas? thanks.
Feb-13-10  Blunderdome: In Vallejo-Pons vs Topalov, 2010, Vallejo-Pons's rating is wrong. It appears that the names were changed (from the original incorrect pairings) but not the rating.
Feb-14-10  notyetagm: <CG.COM> Can we please have a forum for the <2010 CAPPELLE-LA-GRANDE OPEN> which started yesterday?

Feb-15-10  suenteus po 147: <chessgames.com> If you get a minute: I submitted a game from Las Palmas 1977 today, Debarnot-Garcia-Padron which should be 1-0, but in the PGN Header is listed as 0-1. This conflict usually makes the game unplayable once it's processed, so if you can set it to 1-0 that would terrific, thanks.
