Dec-11-10  whiteshark: Two months ago I asked you about creating a page for the then starting <German Bundesliga>, Season 2010/2011. I asked a few times more, and except a lame answer that you are bizzy, nothing happened. So thanks for persistently ignoring. I'm really <okotta> now.

chessgames.com: Here you go: Bundesliga (2010)

It says 2010 but of course it's really 2010-2011. I think we processed all of the rounds, but it's easy to miss games with formats like this. If we overlooked some games please let us know. Thanks.

Dec-11-10  whiteshark: Thanks a bunch!

Dec-12-10  Waitaka: Dear CG.com, for a while now I use my iPhone to succesful navigate and kibitz on my forum and on the challange forum. A little odd, with the iPhone I am not able to type any text on any game page. I can type here, or at anyone forum, but when I am on a game page, I click on the comment area, my virtual keyboard shows up, but I am not able to type any letter.

As I use an old iPhone, a 3G, I was not worried, specially because of the small screen and keyboard.

But now I got an iPad, and the problem is exactly the same. Any tip, or this is a known bug?

Dec-12-10  Benzol: chessgames would it be possible for you to process a number of outstanding uploaded games so that Game Collection: Isaac Boleslavsky - Selected Games can be completed?

COMMENT: The photo is a bent spoon, which is the staple trick of mentalist Yuri Geller. This game is <Yuri>-Geller. Just to be kind, we included the ECO etched on the spoon.

This is perhaps a good GOTD, but I can't think of a good pun: Jelen vs M Dietze, 1936

  kingscrusher: Hi Chessgames.com

Small point - when viewing games, I find it interesting a default perspective of White at the bottom is taken it seems for all games. I don't do this for chess videos - I take the winners perspective to be at the bottom. I think this adds a little more fun to be shown from the winner's perspective.

So for example:

Ljubojevic vs Kasparov, 1992

I would show Kasparov at the bottom from Black's perspective.

Maybe this is already an option for "Default to winners perspecitve" somewhere - if so, sorry. But otherwise maybe it could be an interesting interface option to consider.

Stonehenge: <CG> Two players that can be removed from the DB:

Jose M Pardo-Robles, has only 1 game in the DB and both the date and event are incorrect. Since his current rating is only 1871 I think you can safely delete this game.

His opponent Jacinto Gil-Sierra doesn't have a rating at all. He has only 2 games here and both games have the event wrong. Please delete this rubbish.

chessgames.com: <Stonehenge> Somebody submitted a correction slip on that game changing the date, the event, and both player names. I imagine the person who submitted the correction slip is the one who submitted it to begin with. When a game is that screwed up we just delete it and hope to get a real copy in the future.

To add more info, I tryed to change the viewer to none/text only, but the issue stayed the same.

chessgames.com: That's a known bug with iPhones and iPads. There is fortunately a workaround: just press the "kibitz" button and go straight to the preview page; from there you can type your message.

Peligroso Patzer: The standings currently posted for the Russian Superfinals through six rounds on this page: http://www.chessgames.com/perl/ches... have Svidler with only 5 games played and Zvjaginsev with 7 games played. Something needs to be corrected.

Peligroso Patzer: There appear to be two copies of this game:E Tomashevsky vs V Zvjaginsev, 2010 in the database, which would explain why the chessgames.com standings reflect 7 games played by Zvjaginsev through 6 rounds in the Russian Superfinals.

When I use the pulldown menu to search for games by <Stein> I get this:

<Player: Stein

Sorry, no games.
You may wish to visit the home page and try a different search.>

Then when I search (also using the pulldown menu) for <Stein v. Keres> I get this:

<Player: Stein
Player search: KERES

Sorry, no games.
You may wish to visit the home page and try a different search.>

But when I search for <Stein> by typing his name in the box, the games appear.

This must have something to do with having lots of <Steins> in the database.
