| May-24-12 | | tolengoy: This kind of action by CG would replicate itself again in various forms and instances. It's stance to keep off (i.e. wash its hands in the election fraud in the Caissar awards) was an effort of maintaining the status quo to support the illegal action of the riggers. It's banishment of long time loyal kibitzer <nanobrain> was an failed exercise of the equal protection clause and a non-observance of due process. Proof is that prior to <nanobrain>'s ban, a group of stalkers were warned before they were banned and automatically reinstated 7 days after. There was no warning in <nanobrain>'s case (lack of due process) and he was asked to send an email if he wants reinstatement. This was not the case for the members of the troop who were automatically reinstated without the need of an email. In effect, this is a blatant display of non observance of equal protection clause provided for in the bill of rights in the constitution of every freedom loving kibitzer. |

| May-24-12 | | tolengoy: CG needs to erase this blot of tint off its pristine record. Justice demands <nanobrain>'s ban be called off...and he be allowed to post once again. |

I wish you'd stop doing this. Like many others, I've put requests to CG.com that have experienced delays in response, so you're not alone and nor have you been picked on IMO. They're doing their best but not even they can give everyone what they ask for all the time. As for bans, I don't recall a suspension that hasn't been well earned by the recipient responsible and you've surely noticed there have been a lot more than just nanobrain - who, let's face it, worked hard to earn his ban. If anything admin have tended to err on the side of forgiveness when there has been plenty of justification to be merciless. Other sites like Chess Bomb and Game Knot have a one-strike-and-you-re-out policy that some members have advocated for this site. I for one hope it never ever comes to that as one of the attractions of this site is its uniquely easy going admin headed up by Daniel Freeman. |

I believe one of the notables wrote something like, "Nowhere is patience more a virtue than in chess." <May-18-12 hms123> Thank you for taking the time for the detailed help on searching. |

I keep waiting for power to go to their heads but they refuse to drink the chalice. <I for one hope it never ever comes to a [one-strike-and-you-re-out policy]> Somewhere between one and forty is a nice middle ground. |

| May-26-12 | | ahmadov: Hello <cg.com>. Have you thought of organizing a correspondence match between Pogonina and Shahade on your web site at the occasion of the end of the Anand-Gelfand match? That would be quite interesting. |

 | | chessgames.com: Going in reverse order: <ahmadov> <Have you thought of organizing a correspondence match between Pogonina and Shahade on your web site> Honestly, no. I'm not sure what either of the WGMs would think about it, nor what our audience would. Plus, not to put down Jennifer, but isn't Pogonina a full 150 points higher than her? |

 | | chessgames.com: <DrNyet: I'd like to suggest the addition of a section on the Help page(s) for searching kibitzing. If it exists and I missed it, I apologize.> First, you are 100% right. Second, don't listen to people who tell you that you're "nagging" or somehow being a nuisance. We do have users like that, but you're not one of them. |

 | | chessgames.com: Next, to the person who came here to tell us which user is really the sockpuppet of which other user:
That kind of accusation is strictly forbidden on this forum. If you want to alert us to sockpuppets you can use email or the Whistle function, but frankly you're probably wasting your time, because we're in the position to actually know the truth already and you probably won't tell us anything we don't already now. The reason why we forbid sockpuppet accusations is that if we didn't, history has proved that this forum would erupt into a flurry of accusations. So it's not that we don't believe you, or we don't care, we just can't talk about it here. |

 | | chessgames.com: Next point of order: <tolengoy> calls for the immediate restoration of the kibitzing privileges of <nanobrain>. First a summary of the facts. Nanobrain broke a posting policy. (We won't say which one(s)--that's between us and nanobrain.) Now when nanobrain attempts to post, he gets a terse message saying that he was determined to have violated posting policies and needs to contact chess@chessgames.com. Now here is how this can be resolved:
1. Nanobrain needs to send an email to chess@chessgames.com that says words to the effect of "I see that I'm on probation and I would like my posting privileges restored." 2. Then we write a letter back quote the offending material (or at least part of it) to make it perfectly clear what the problem is. Then we ask him to promise to avoid breaking our rules in the future. 3. He writes us back, says "I promise to abide by your posting policies!" or words to those effect. He can phrase it in his own language. It doesn't have to be an apology, just a promise that he understands our rules and will do his best to comply. 4. Then we remove the probation.
To date, step #1 has not been completed, so he remains on probation. It would take him 60 seconds to get the process underway. One might think that asking a user to send an email promising to abide by the rules is not much to ask for. However tolengoy argues, with a gossimer thread of logic, that this is in fact entirely unfair. Why? Because earlier this year we placed 7 members on an exceptional one-week probation to solve a "flame war" and these people were NOT required to send emails at the end of the week. We treat some users differently than other users, and violated the "equal protection clause" found in the 14th amendment to the US Constitution. Tolengoy has such a tortured argument I don't think he even believes in it, since this is my final statement on the subject I feel compelled to deflate it for the sake of thoroughness. Here's the crux: Chessgames took "exceptional measures" on 7 members because Daniel Freeman perceived what was effectively a state of emergency. Daniel made up a solution out of thin air. If this was not merely a website but an actual nation, this would be the behavior of a dictator. Perhaps a benevolent dictator, but a dictator nonetheless. But guess what, tolengoy? Chessgames isn't a nation. We don't have a Constitution. The 14th amendment applies to the Congress and US Legislatures but it doesn't apply to us. And if Daniel wants to solve problems like a benevolent dictator, that's his business. And don't bother replying tolengoy, I'm not in the mood to argue with you and I'll likely delete your replies. And I can do that, being a dictator. |

| May-26-12 | | Pyke: According to the schedule of the Anand - Gelfand match http://moscow2012.fide.com/en/sched... there's another rest day before game 12. So it only starts the day after tomorrow. |

| May-27-12 | | Benzol: <chessgames> Do you pay attention to moves that were played after a flag-fall? I ask this because I have a game to upload where this situation occurred. |

Plus, not to put down Jennifer, but isn't Pogonina a full 150 points higher than her?> Well, unfortunately, I also do not know what they would think about this. However, since it would be a friendly game and since this world championship match is also played between players with some good rating differences, I do not think this would be a big problem for the girls too. But anyway, I thought that it could be just an idea you could offer to the ladies. |
