The kibitzing here, in spite of being chock full of a number of chess related features, lacks the ability to post a PGN string in the general case. The main two problems are the ones you named, the dual meaning of the {braces} as well as the way we automatically interpret anything that remotely looks like FEN. The notion of a [PGN] ... [/PGN] type feature has come up before, especially with an eye towards being able to automatically view the game being posted. Ideally the [PGN]...[/PGN] tags themselves would be superfluous as it's fairly easy to recognize when a chunk of text is in the PGN format. I can't give you an ETA on when Chessgames can have that feature but I'll say it definitely is on our short-list of desirable features.
