I just see an ad for PNC Bank. I know both Eric Rosen and PNC Bank, and am sure they're not the same.

Oct-10-13  Shams: <FSR> Have you ever seen them both in the same room at the same time?

FSR: <Shams> Hmm, now that you mention it . . . . Maybe Eric Rosen hops into a phone booth and changes into PNC Bank? No, that can't be; there are no phone booths anymore.

chessgames.com: <Corrections> The current count is 2,253. Keep in mind that we make great progress even when the number floats around 2000: more corrections are coming in every day.

<Abdel Irada> Yes, we do have our work cut out. Thanks for offering to help, I didn't know you were an HTML guy.

<falso contacto> Games are online--can't wait to see this epic KID.

<Stonehenge> Yes, Rosen's photo was lost somehow and I don't see a backup copy. It probably came to us via email, so I'll check there next.

Diademas: I think you have the score in Bilbao Masters wrong. They use football-score (3-1-0).

Domdaniel: D Raznikov vs K Klukin, 2013 seems to be the longest KID from the Chigorin. Epic? Maybe.

Well, don't expect too much from me; as I said, my knowledge is quite limited because I haven't had cause to work with any particularly sophisticated applications as yet. To get an idea of what I *have* worked with, you could have a look at http://www.moralintelligence.net/, examine the source and check on the CSS file linked to in the head.

If, after doing this, you think I *can* be of aid, let me know. :-)

  jessicafischerqueen: <Good morning.>

Thank you admins!

Thanks to Daniel and the CG.com librarian for getting User: jnpope 's correction slip processed for Zukertort vs Lipschutz, 1886.

Thanks to all three of you, I bet our website is the now only place on the internets that features the correct score of this game.

On 12th and 13th of October the 2013/14 season of the <Schachbundesliga> starts with the first two rounds. 277 players from 36 countries play for 16 teams in the highest German chess league.

Could you please create/open a tournament page for this event.

Oct-13-13  Octavia: <why be a pedestrian - when you can be driving a rolls royce?>

I would never support that company because they also make weapons.

You could replace the car with a bicycle - its the next step up from walking! & more environment friendly.

Whilst I'm at it: Being an ardent anarchist, I don't approve of <be treated like a king> I'm sure all the commies & socialists would agree with me.

Sorry to be penicky but I just had to let you know.

We do, your majesty.

We also note that there are now *two* pictures of (humanoid) kings on the cg homepage, complete with nasty elitist crowns. Who elected these kings anyhow?

Oct-13-13  Blunderdome: And what about those of us who'd rather be treated like queens?

SwitchingQuylthulg: I have no problem with the principle, but I'd like some clarification on which king you have in mind. Some kings weren't really treated all that well :s

Annie K.: <Dom> I only see one? Plus those four unseemly monarchs on the PotD board diagram. ;s

<Blunderdome> well, I've collected a few demonstrative examples of the Royal Treatment some years back...

Game Collection: Be Treated Like a King!

I dunno, Queens might be even worse? :)

Domdaniel: <Annie> On my version of the homepage, there's an advert for the CG store on the left ("Be treated like a King") and one for premium membership on the right -- both using the same image of a monarch.

Annie K.: <Dom> thx. :) Hmm, I'm not seeing the store advert. In fact, I haven't seen it for so long, I've even wondered a while ago if the store still existed, and how I'd go about getting there if I wanted to. Although given sufficient determination, a specific Google search for the 'chessgames.com store' would have prolly located it for me. ;)

<cg> is that because I have ads turned off? If so, you may want to be aware of the issue... Doesn't make sense to make your store hard to find, specifically for premium members, who are the ones most likely to use it.

Domdaniel: Hmm. This seems to demonstrate that seemingly trivial conversations can sometimes alight on commercially sensitive topics.

Moral: everything is permitted.

Oct-13-13

Domdaniel: <Annie> Hmm ... so it's, like, "let me not to the marriage of true minds admit impediments" ... unless, of course, they *really want* impediments ...?

Or, as the Ancient Romans used to say, "Zonam solvere ..."

  kingscrusher: Hi Chessgames.com

Being unobservant, I have only just noticed on the left:

"Anand-Carlsen World Championship
Chennai, India
Nov 6-26
The Indian Chess Federation has signed a deal with FIDE making Chennai as the venue of the 2013 World Chess Championship to take place in November. Discussion forum now open."

I was wondering if perhaps this could be "pinned" to the top left to get the discussions going even more - perhaps with a pin icon to the left of it, indicating it is a future-date-stamp. You could do this pinning with any future date-stamped events to highlight key ones coming up perhaps.

Just a thought.

Cheers, K
