 | | offramp: I think that the <Quote of the Day> should be moved higher up the page. It could go just above the Recent Kibitzing box, or under Opening of the Day. At the moment it seems a bit isolated. |

| Feb-19-17 | | Paarhufer: When I find games from simuls in newspapers, I often make such searches: http://www.chessgames.com/perl/ches... In former times my first glance went into the column Event/Locale, and some city or country information was quite useful. Now I see only this "Simul, 103b" stuff, and I have to go through the player names or openings. Would it be possible to display the content of the site tag instead? Some people spent a lot of time with these tags (thanks!) and so they are quite informative. |

 | | OhioChessFan: Just curious how strongly you vetted kibitzer names in 2008. User: GM Arencibia The next edit of the Wiki article, I wouldn't mind including him in the list of GM's who have kibitzed here, if you can verify the identity. |
|
| Feb-19-17 | | WinKing: That one might be legit <OCF>. Just a gut feeling. Should be verified though. Would be nice to include GM Arencibia to the list of visiting GM's @ <chessgames>. |

 | | chessgames.com: <Paarhufer> <Now I see only this "Simul, 103b" stuff> Yes, that's a consequence of us accepting PGN where we can get it, even when it's not perfect. The good news is that we're working on a way for Chessgames volunteer editors (the regulars of the Biographer Bistro) to clean up some of the messy event-tags. <User: GM Arencibia> Never noticed that until today. Offhand I would guess it's legitimate, the IP geolocation makes sense, even the email address is very convincing looking. We tend not to investigate such things unless the player posts semi-frequently. Also see User: Walter Arencibia (same person by IP/email.) We'll give him our normal GM-lifetime-membership; maybe he'll come back. |

 | | chessgames.com: Oh wait, as it turns out there are actually 9 year old notes on his account: <Really him. Gave a 1-year membership Mar 9th 2008> I wouldn't have written that if I didn't exchange emails or something of that nature. Now he's lifetime. |
