 | | al wazir: In the Batumi Olympiad games, Caruana vs. Anand is posted twice. |
|
| Sep-29-18 | | zanzibar: Thanks <Susan> for the update info. I sympathize how difficult it must still be... When I get a first draft of a bio outline ready I'll leave a note on your forum. I do have a few photos of him from both his HS and college days which I think all would very much enjoy. . |

 | | Susan Freeman: We can collaborate if you want. I will do the screen play tomorrow. The legalities of this is almost overwhelming. |
|
| Sep-29-18 | | zanzibar: Hi Susan,
I'd be happy to collaborate. Usually I put material on my blog as a rough draft, that can then be freely adapted/incorporated on <CG>. I have a few other projects in the pipeline, including the ongoing Olympiad, though - so it might be a little while till I pick it up again. Anytime the legal system is involved in one's life it's overwhelming, that's been my general impression. . |

 | | Susan Freeman: I am legal owner of Chessgames now and it is being filed with the state Crime scene is closed. No foul play. Toxicology just came back. No problem.
I was in North Alaska on a cruise riding ATVs in the woods, when I got back to the ship I got the call from Danny's hysterical live in girl friend and the detective. They did CPR but it was too late. He never made it to the hospital. I asked for all photos of the scene. He had a peaceful look on his face, and he did not suffer, of that I am sure. All organs were in good shape. No coronary artery disease. Only conclusion was that he had a sudden cardiac arrest. He often slept at his computer and basically worked around the clock. His girlfriend came home from work and thought he was sleeping at his computer as usual. She went to kiss him, and he was cold. I am personally familiar with wacky heart rhythms because I had a virus which affected my heart beat. I have an internal defibrillator/pacemaker which kicks in when I am pushing 5K on the treadmill. Danny had no health problems. He never got sick, not even a cold. He never even had a filling in his teeth, ever. Perfect teeth, beautiful smile. So there you have it. I don't think he knew what hit him. I personally thought it was an embolism, but I was wrong. He did not suffer. Today is his birthday. RIP Sonny. |

| Sep-30-18 | | JimNorCal: Thanks for sharing. It's human nature to wonder, to ask, even though it's none of our business.
Thanks. |

 | | Susan Freeman: I hope you all understand I was not free to comment until the detective closes the case. It is not legal to comment. Tox report took longer than expected |

| Sep-30-18 | | Tiggler: <I think <Focus> has the right to ask about the COD>. I agree. He also has the right to remain silent. |

 | | Susan Freeman: Big Pawn is not banned. End of story guys. |
|
| Sep-30-18 | | TheFocus: <Susan Freeman> Thank you for sharing with us the cause of death. Heart problems run in my family, so I know how sudden death can be. As I am sure that you have seen, a LOT of people here cared about your son. I am sorry that you lost your son. May you have comfort and peace. |

 | | Susan Freeman: Thank you Focus Like I implied. There are worse ways to die. My grandfather died of a sudden death right on Capitol Blvd 2 blocks from his flat. In fact he was walking back from the cardiologist. Each day we have is a blessing. |

 | | Susan Freeman: Hey Zanzibar. Where'd you get those pictures? I have nothing from college. very few from high school. |
|
| Sep-30-18 | | Count Wedgemore: Dear Susan Freeman. Take comfort in the fact that your son died while doing one of the things he loved most: working at his computer with this wonderful site that he created, which has given, and will continue to give, so much joy to thousands of chessplayers and chessfans around the world. I wish you all the best. |
|
| Sep-30-18 | | zanzibar: Hi <Susan> - thank you for all your posts, and for allowing us to share the loss and grief. Life isn't always fair.
As for the pictures - I found a few in various yearbooks, using Ancestry.com for guidance. When I found the official obit from <Baldwin Funeral Home> I knew Demetrius Cross was Daniel Freeman and went from there. . |

| Sep-30-18 | | cormier: i completely agree with <Count Wedgemore> last post here ... |

| Oct-01-18 | | Boomie: <Chessgames.com> The download from the Olympiad seems to be lagging. For example, Giri has played 7 games but we only have 4. |

| Oct-01-18 | | john barleycorn: <Boomie: ... For example, Giri has played 7 games but we only have 4.> A box of Kleenex is on its way, I suppose. |
