 | | HeMateMe: If that recurring 'pun' shows up again on the home page I'm giving up chess. |
Apr-21-22 | | diceman: <SHA-256 Fingerprint> If they're tracking fingerprints, CG employees should wear gloves! :) |
Apr-21-22
 | | Susan Freeman: <Diceman> just as an FYI. I have no fingerprints. Too much hand washing in nursing. Sooo. If you ever need a job done. Lol
Seriously. It has been a problem in airports. Especially in China. |
Apr-21-22
 | | Dionysius1: I hope it doesn't cause you pain. Pineapple packers have no fingerprints either. Look and Learn Annual circa 1967. |
Apr-21-22 | | George Wallace: <Susan Freeman: <z> I believe I asked you before and you declined. I need a front end coder in the near future and Steve could use some help. I remember seeing the SSL email and then it was gone. Caisso is in charge of the emails and I help when I can. Especially if it concerns billing. You’d be surprised how many people charge twice. Out demographics are becoming younger and younger. I need an NDA signed by you and your CV. And what you require for salary. TIA> Rule of thumb: never hire a front-end coder who still lives in his parent's basement. <susan>, I know you speak with the owner of chess.com from time to time, if I recall correctly. Have you ever considered asking him if he can recommend any qualified front-end coders? Perhaps he, or the people working for him, can recommend someone to fill the position once and for all? |

Apr-21-22
 | | perfidious: Be interesting to know how it is that one poster hereabout understands <zed>'s living situation, or why he adores such baseless speculation which, in any case, is immaterial to how someone does their job. |
Apr-21-22 | | Z free or die: <Susan Freeman: <Z>. I think I misunderstood. You want to buy CG?> Not necessarily, but I certainly think I would do the better job of running it. . |
Apr-21-22 | | Z free or die: <<Caisso is in charge of the emails>> Again, see my Bistro complaints about process - it isn't confined to just the details of Victorian player names. |
Apr-21-22 | | Z free or die: Susan, I think you have it somewhat backwards... You need to send your CV to me!
FWIW - I already submitted a partial CV of my work: Biographer Bistro (kibitz #24557) I forgot many items, a few of which I'll include here: • The <CG Country Codes> was originally done by me. To some extent the biographers were already using them, but they weren't documented, and it wasn't clear which ones to standardize upon. <Daniel> used 2-letter codes in his player list: https://www.chessgames.com/playerli...
but we needed the more obvious 3-letter codes:
Chessgames Country Codes
I actually downloaded the full player list from FIDE to extract the CC's, adding those from OlimpBase for historical purposes. I wish <CG> would automate this process on an annual basis. • <Use of <CG> id's for submissions, lookup, and PGN> I convinced <Daniel> of the need for precision submission of PGN, utilizing pid's to avoid clashes with duplicate names. He then added the feature to <Search> lookups as well, and included the ID's in the zipfile downloads of PGN games. It's unfortunate that more biographers don't consistently use this feature to avoid even recent mishaps (again, process). • <TI submissions> Yes, despite the doubts <Tab> had that I might never manage to do so, I actually did contribute a couple of matches which got voted in (thanks to all the biographers for keeping me sharp, and improving the submissions). The tournament and match review over at the Bistro is a process I admired, and wish was utilized more these days. Yes, the process (there's that word again!) was too strict at times, and we unnecessarily alienated contributors - but the aim was a good one, and if we could just find the "sweet spot" we could tame a little of the chaos. . |
Apr-21-22 | | Z free or die: I guess I could add UTF-8 and Security Certificate debugging - but those skills weren't needed from me under the old regime. |
Apr-21-22
 | | Susan Freeman: <Z> are you nimble at coding?
And send me a personal email with your salary requirements.
Suekgpc@hotmail.com is a good one |
Apr-21-22
 | | Susan Freeman: <Z> and your references please. 😊 |
Apr-22-22 | | George Wallace: < Susan Freeman: <Z> and your references please. 😊> LOL!
Doubt you’ll get a professional set of references. These script kiddies just good with coding and visit coding forum all day from Mom’s basement. Don’t expect to see a list of real jobs lols.
Well, I could be wrong…I guess.
Kids today have this extended adolescence that lasts well into their 30s. Living at home, playing video games, not working regular hours… Also <Zanzibar> is anti free speech. He’s an ANTIFA cancel culture commie. He wears a pink pussyhat. |
Apr-22-22
 | | perfidious: The commentary on hyper-extended adolescence is being delivered by someone well into middle age, who thus indulges himself. |
Apr-22-22
 | | HeMateMe: If one posts here non-stop but is still too cheap to buy a membership, such person might not even be living in someone's basement. He might be living at the Bus Depot, using public restrooms as his bathrooms, to freshen up. |

Apr-22-22
 | | MissScarlett: A page for the <Oslo Esports Cup> would be good: https://chess24.com/en/watch/live-t... |
Apr-22-22 | | Z free or die: <Susan> I'm not looking for a job, I'm looking to save <CG>. |
Apr-22-22 | | Z free or die: <Susan> - since you use this forum to solicit job applications I would like to point out an obvious obligation a responsible and law abiding employer is under - to provide a harassment free workplace. Not to mention the obligation to specifically not allow libelous and untrue falsehoods in posts that could adversely affect applicants. I'd like to see if <Susan>'s experience here at <CG> has allowed her to evolve. Basically, a post such as this has no business on the <chessgames> forum: chessgames.com chessforum (kibitz #37821) In fact, I'm also disappointed with <JFQ>'s lack of improbation - she's normally so concerned with the sanctity of forums like the <Bistro> and <Chessgames>. |
Apr-22-22 | | Z free or die: <Missy> - Stay calm, and carry on! |
Apr-22-22 | | Z free or die: Again, speaking of process:
James Cunningham Fraser (kibitz #48) stevemcd87 chessforum (kibitz #1101) Do these look like reasonable <CG> processes? . |
Apr-22-22 | | George Wallace: <Z free or die: <Susan> I'm not looking for a job, I'm looking to save <CG>.> LOLS! LOLS!
I told you!
He doesn’t have the references, but he fantasizes about galloping to the rescue with his pink pussyhat on, holding virtual antifa rallies and taking a BASEBALL BAT to free speech. CG doesn’t need saving. Just because there are challenges doesn’t mean it needs saving. Every website or job has challenges. They never ever go away. That’s why it’s called WORK! 100% LOOOOLS! |
Apr-22-22 | | George Wallace: < Z free or die: <Susan> - since you use this forum to solicit job applications I would like to point out an obvious obligation a responsible and law abiding employer is under - to provide a harassment free workplace.> See that, <Susan>? Trouble just waiting to happen. I could see it a mile away. Hire someone like that and you’ll be in court over petty pussyhat stuff. It’s the whole woke, antifa, cancel culture generation. They know no other way. These are the kids who always won a trophy even for losing. When they enter the real world and they don’t get a trophy, it’s time to take their employers to court! |
Apr-22-22 | | George Wallace: <provide a harassment free workplace.> LOLS!
Your workspace is in your parent’s basement.
Heh heh, he thinks it’s on the internet! If he was working at a real job in an office, what would he do if someone disagreed with him online? Sue the office? Use the ignore button and BOOM! Just like that, you’re in a harassment free SAFE SPACE. And quit trying to hide behind <JFQ’s> skirt. This is a FREE SPEECH ZONE! |
Apr-22-22
 | | FSR: I forgot the source field for that David Smerdon-NN game I just submitted. It is https://www.chess.com/library/colle... An immortal. |
Apr-22-22 | | nok: <Z: In fact, I'm also disappointed with <JFQ>'s lack of improbation - she's normally so concerned with the sanctity of forums like the <Bistro> and <Chessgames>.> Have you ever seen <jfq> oppose hate speech? When I called <scazo> out on his sexist comments, <jfq> attacked <me> for it. |
