 | | Susan Freeman: Yes his games should be up. I agree |
|
Aug-24-22
 | | MissScarlett: If the posting guidelines are properly enforced, I don't see why the man himself shouldn't be reinstated. I suppose only a small fraction of his 14,000 posts could have been deemed objectionable. It may well be that he was more sinned against than sinning. |

 | | Susan Freeman: <Z> if I remember correctly I think play zone was an appendage of OLga. I am due for a chat with OLga man anyway. Will ask. |
|
Aug-24-22
 | | Susan Freeman: <Miss> did you see what was deleted? Do you have access to his dossier |
|
Aug-24-22
 | | Susan Freeman: I see a post of mine was deleted. Good job, staff. Good job |
|
Aug-24-22
 | | MissScarlett: Is <Olga Man> aware of of the non-recognition of null moves issue? Pawn and two moves (P + 2) odds games don't show properly, e.g., G Perigal vs La Bourdonnais, 1840 |
|
Aug-24-22
 | | MissScarlett: < <Miss> did you see what was deleted?> No.
<Do you have access to his dossier> No. |
|
Aug-24-22
 | | MissScarlett: <I see a post of mine was deleted. Good job, staff. Good job> What lofty spirit is this? <fredthebear> and <Messiah>, look up! |
|
Aug-24-22
 | | MissScarlett: A Goldsby game is duly set for <GOTD>; make it happen. |
|
| Aug-25-22 | | Cassandro: Kind of silly to have the GOTD a game that you cannot kibitz on. The ban on this Goldsby fellow's games does not seem to have been lifted yet. Nice pun, though. |
|
Aug-25-22
 | | perfidious: All of <fred>'s socks will doubtless attribute the deletion of <Susan>'s post to me; after all, I have superhuman powers. (rolls eyes) |
|
| Aug-25-22 | | Cassandro: Oh, I see that the GOTD has now finally been opened for kibitzing. Well done, <CG>. |

 | | MissScarlett: <Chess.com is excited to announce that we have submitted an offer for Play Magnus Group (PMG) to join Chess.com. Magnus Carlsen and the management at Play Magnus are enthusiastic and have accepted the offer. We expect that it will take about 6-8 weeks for this process to finalize. Until that time, Chess.com and Play Magnus will remain independent companies.> https://www.chess.com/news/view/che... <Lichess.org
@lichess
We're not going anywhere.
Free chess, for everyone, forever.> https://twitter.com/lichess/status/... Does <cg.com> have a position? |
|
Aug-25-22
 | | Susan Freeman: That is very exciting news.
I wish Eric all the best.
CG does not have a position since That Unnamed person ruined everything, just because he could.
chess.com is in a league of its own. Rumour has it that Kim Kardashian approached him for chess lessons. Just a bit if Hollywood gossip. |
|
Aug-25-22
 | | Susan Freeman: AJ Goldsby is offended that we post his games and he is banned from this site. He says it is hypocritical. I see nothing so terrible in his dossier. I have seen worse |
|
Aug-25-22
 | | MissScarlett: So you're leaning toward reinstatement? |
|
Aug-25-22
 | | ghost5: Daniel had the patience of a saint, but even a saint's patience has limits. |
|
Aug-25-22
 | | jessicafischerqueen:
<MissScarlett> lol well yes and no... What <Jim> said, for starters, and there's plenty more than that. I suppose "MissScarlett" didn't start till AJ left, but "you" certainly started years before when AJ was flourishing. What a big fat liar you are! |
|
Aug-25-22
 | | jessicafischerqueen:
Hmm the posts I responded to have already been deleted- for what, I can't imagine. <Susan> your new "censorship by a 1000 fools" is a big bust eh? Don't you know the Indian story about the blind men figuring out together what an elephant looks like? By having one (1) person enforce the posting guidelines, a task <Daniel> gave to his partner, there was consistency. Also, your fetishization of the word "denigrate" into a code word for "admins cannot be criticized" is anathema to the way <Daniel> ran this website. He never deleted a post because it "hurt his feelings" eh. Under your present "plan", there is only chaos which increases, not decreases, the noise, not to mention the unpleasantness. |
|
Aug-25-22
 | | jessicafischerqueen:
<Susan> why not just copy the chess fora that do not suffer from this rude chaos? Chess.com, and the ECF forum for example. No trouble of this sort there- ever. IS IT A MYSTERY? Probably not. More like ill-considered policy on your part. Why not copy the winners? |
|
Aug-25-22
 | | Susan Freeman: <Miss> yes reinstatement. For now |
|
Aug-25-22
 | | Susan Freeman: <Jess> nothing has been deleted per the moderators. |
|
Aug-25-22
 | | MissScarlett: <What a big fat liar you are!> <No vitriolic or systematic personal attacks against other members.> |
|
Aug-25-22
 | | MissScarlett: <<Miss> yes reinstatement. For now> I've thrown together a few words:
<
The quality of mercy is not strain'd.
It droppeth as the gentle rain from heaven
Upon the place beneath. It is twice blest:
It blesseth him that gives, and him that takes.
'Tis mightiest in the mightiest; it becomes
The throned monarch better than his crown.
His scepter shows the force of temporal power,
The attribute to awe and majesty,
Wherein doth sit the dread and fear of kings;
But mercy is above this sceptered sway;
It is enthroned in the heart of kings;
It is an attribute to God himself;
And earthly power doth then show likest God's
When mercy seasons justice.> |
|
| Aug-25-22 | | Shangri La: <Under your present "plan", there is only chaos which increases, not decreases, the noise, not to mention the unpleasantness.> So true. The system of silence snowballs the problem louder and louder and there is no resolution to anyone's satisfaction.
Nobody walked a mile in the moccasins of the penalized users who were free to post as others do and then jilted with no explanation. You're killing off your own business by angering clients. Not consistently and fairly enforcing the guidelines just grew exponentially; it's too big a problem for one person to handle. Profanity, lewdness, insults, racism, more insults, racially slurs -- are you kidding, still more insults, etc. etc. Moderators breaking the guidelines. Old friends are obviously given a free pass. New users have no grievance process? What a mess. Those ARE problems, are they not? If the matter is a problem, then fix the problem. If the matter is not a problem... leave it be. I'm a real person who just wanted to participate without being harassed by the imposter Z, mad moderators, buddies of mad moderators, and the committee to re-elect Donnie Fauci Biden. I made ordinary posts, but penalties turned me into a complainer and now I've been completely alienated. RESTRICTED KIBITZING!! If you are sick of hearing that, can you imagine how I must feel? Just as bad as the never-ending restrictions was the shear lack of help. Nobody cared. Nobody felt my indignation. Nobody wanted to answer my questions. No reason, no help, just penalties and silence. "Stop crying" is not a problem-solver. It's a COMPLETE MODERATOR COP OUT to say the user broke the guidelines; "Stop breaking the guidelines." It's just moderator privilege and members know it. Lying about deleted posts like it never happened, like he never had anything to do with it at all but his post on the same page gives him away? C'mon, man up. There are plenty of deleted posts this month. Poof! To be heard, to be listened to is a gift, even if the listener does not agree. The listener does not have to agree -- but listen sincerely. One must acknowledge what is said, otherwise it was not heard in the view of the aggrieved. Take the time to listen to another; acknowledge their point-of-view. That doesn't mean you agreed. The same problems will keep popping up again and again and again; it will be a different person, a different time, but the same place: HERE. Do ya'll really wanna spend 12-15 hours a day here dealing with the same old re-occurring problems in six months, sixteen months, thirty-six months? You need a system of operation that is fair and does not involve human discretion because humans cannot agree on much of anything. Giving someone the right to make choices for another is not going to turn out well. Even the best person gets worn out. Auto-pilot is inflexible, but it is consistent, and fair to all. Instead of catering to an important few seeking more power to control others, be good to all the peons in low places and see if that doesn't blossom. Fix your problems from the ground up, not the top down. There must be defined limits for all, not some but ALL. I'm not really the naughty person I've been labeled. Thanks for reading. This will help you if you let it. Don't hate me. I tried to help find a solution. Shangri La is not here. It sucks to feel like George. |
