| Aug-29-22 | | optimal play: I think <OhioChessFan> makes a valid point regarding the need for clarification of Pawn's banishment. Whilst I appreciate Chessgames may not want to disclose specific details regarding an alleged hacking, I think the members are entitled to more information about this matter. Was Pawn really attempting to compromise the security of Chessgames or was he banned simply for constantly shooting off his big fat mouth and rubbing everyone the wrong way? |
|
| Aug-29-22 | | stone free or die: <OCF> and <opie> - I've pointed out <bippy>'s corrosive behavior against <CG> before. Done in plain view. Are you surprised that he got caught hacking <CG>? He openly threatened to do so just days before. Again, in plain view. Did <CG> ever offer public comment on other banishments? (E.g. AJ's?). If not, why should <bippy> get special treatment? But yes, I agree, he does have a big fat mouth, and rubs everybody the wrong way. |

| Aug-29-22 | | optimal play: <stone free or die: <OCF> and <opie> - I've pointed out <bippy>'s corrosive behavior against <CG> before. Done in plain view.> What do you mean by <corrosive behavior>? Constantly shooting off your big fat mouth is not necessarily corrosive behaviour. <Are you surprised that he got caught hacking <CG>?> Yes, I would not have thought he would stoop to hacking this site. <He openly threatened to do so just days before. Again, in plain view.> I didn't see that post.
<Did <CG> ever offer public comment on other banishments? (E.g. AJ's?). If not, why should <bippy> get special treatment?> I don't want to drag up AJ's banishment since he has just now returned to the site, but I don't consider a proper explanation to the members as being <special treatment> to Pawn. |

 | | Willber G: Is this still the forum to report technical issues? chessgames.com chessforum (kibitz #39242) (It's three days now.) |
|
Aug-29-22
 | | Check It Out: <Willber G> I had a similar issue not long ago. It turned out to be computer specific. My tech-savvy wife did some updates and the chess engine resumed its work. Sorry I can't be more detailed. |

Do a search. (Oh, you can't.)
<Aug-07-22 George Wallace:
Now about sock accounts, well, they might be necessary now that tyranny and censorship is back in power here at <CG>.I have a contractor from Bangladesh who screwed up a job I put him on. He wants to get more gigs from me, but he's in the dog house. I wouldn't even have to pay him anything, not a dime, for him to use a VPN and create 1000 accounts over the next year, every day, a few here and there. All I have to do is make it an addon to the next job and he'll do it for free. Different IP addresses every time (down to the Class C IP), different locations, different emails - very easy. Just sayin', it will take me ZERO time to adjust if I have to, or if I want to.> |

 | | Knightf7mate: Will there be any special notices on the 50th anniversary’s of Fischer’s World Chess Championship on September 2nd? |
|
Aug-29-22
 | | MissScarlett: Unlikely, given the anniversary is September 1st. According to <FTB>, we've already missed the boat: <Any so-called chess website that ignores the 50th anniversary of the <Fischer - Spassky 1972 World Chess Championship> isn't much of a chess website at all. It reeks like the haze of perfidious stink eye.> What he was expecting by way of commemoration, he didn't say. A special edition mug? |

Aug-29-22
 | | MissScarlett: <Different IP addresses every time (down to the Class C IP), different locations, different emails - very easy.> An army of socks does not equate, in my mind, at least, with hacking/attacking the servers - which is how <steve> characterised the problem. <Miss Susan>, you can't just move on without further explanation. |
|
| Aug-29-22 | | stone free or die: <OhioChessFan: I'm very disappointed in you <Susan>.> Of course you are. So am I.
You, because she finally wised up. Me, because it took her so long. . |
|
| Aug-29-22 | | stone free or die: <<Missy> <Miss Susan>, you can't just move on without further explanation.> Sez who?
"I'm disappointed in you Missy". |
|
| Aug-29-22 | | stone free or die: chessgames.com chessforum (kibitz #39271) with it's explicit and gratuitous mention of patron(s) seems borderline trolling to me. One can just answer <Knightf7mate>'s question without the side-swipes. |
|
| Aug-29-22 | | stone free or die: <<KS> Dont be a hypocrite...What about <YOUR> army of socks , pal? > Dear Mr. Sore,
Please don't answer me as "pal". I'm not your pal. Never have been, never will be.
Regards.
Mr. Z (aka stone free of die) |
|
| Aug-29-22 | | stone free or die: <opt> your post has some questions which might be better handled over on <Rogoff>, as we'd have to get into the weeds (or kudzu, as the case may be). But one clear example of "corrosive behavior", which I believe you have familiarity - is <Big Pawn>'s clear trollish and flagrant masquerading as elite liberal poster <George Wallace>. This was clearly a juvenile abuse of a (true) sock account, purely for corrosive purposes. |
|
Aug-29-22
 | | OhioChessFan: <Missy> I appreciate your measured tone throughout this. And I agree a very high % of the time with what you're saying. Really, you're mostly saying what I am already thinking. |
|
| Aug-29-22 | | nok: <You, because she finally wised up. Me, because it took her so long.> This. It's quite incredible it took ten years to ban <george>.
By his own admission, he was only here to stir up drama. |

I am with <ohiochessfan> on this one. I too agree with a lot of what <miss Scarlett> saying , though not 100 percent As things are getting chaotic , i would humbly suggest that <miss Scarlett> , instead of talking on this subject in this forum further , should talk to <Susan freeman> and admins through email , if he must and if something new comes out of that email communication , he may share with <ocf> and others in this forum. Thank you for listening. Regards |
