  MissScarlett: Talking of which....

I'm getting a <403 Forbidden> message again trying to update a collection.

Oct-09-22  stone free or die: Speaking of trolling...

Is <MissScarlett> trolling us all by co-opting of <HarryLime>'s McCartney avatar?!?!

(Just kidding, kinda)

  MissScarlett: I wouldn't dare - it's well known that <Hazz>, along with Jan-Krzysztof Duda, are <Miss Susan>'s blue-eyed boys.
Oct-09-22  stone free or die: (Aliases are one thing, but I have to say pinching someone else's icon is quite confusing - at least for the first couple of months.

[E.g. I eventually got used to <Tab>'s swipe of <Focus>'s scream avatar])

They probably still are.

But not really relevant to the CG support forum.

fredthebear: I am not trolling delusive. I resent the allegation coming from such an unethical person. It is true that I do not like delusive or such distortionists, but that is not trolling.

When delusive copies information from another credible source, it could be worthwhile. Unfortunately, many delusive posts are non-sense and all too often blatantly dishonest. When off-the-charts wrong, exaggerating, deceiving or insulting others, and/or whopper lying, delusive is going to hear about it. Such behavior certainly deserves no reward from chessgames, nor my silence.

After chessgames allows delusive's pal to deport me, delusive will find a different member target, and another, and another. Delusive will always be whining and crying from a sock puppet account about a paying member, wanting the truth-telling opposition censored, silenced, removed. This is what delusive lives for -- warped verbal conflict to gain negative attention, not the chess action.

MissScarlett: Once again I propose a match between troller and delusive. The winner to play <Hazz> for the <cg.com> title.
Oct-11-22  stone free or die: The posts speak for themselves, both of 'em!

(And who promoted the Prince of Wince to King?!)

Oct-12-22  thegoodanarchist: <FSR> has been such a consistent contributor over the years that I wanted to honor him with a GOTD:

F Rhine vs D Sprenkle, 1981

MissScarlett: Time to replace User: suenteus po 147 in running Game Collection: Game of the Day 2022. Anyone want to take it on? One minute a day shouldn't be too great a responsibility.
Oct-12-22  stone free or die: <<Missy> Time to replace User: suenteus po 147 >

With the amount of time <Missy> spends checking up on wayward contributors and posting solicitations for replacements won't you save time to just add this one minute to the task of pun shepherding?

Again - why can't this be automated?

Also, even if you have a fellow contributor - having a single point of failure with no backup is just asking for trouble. People have bad days, crises of one kind or another, and unfortunately, are occasionally hit by buses.

MissScarlett: There is an automated list of <GOTD>s - well, I assume it's automated - but it's a rolling one, going back just over a year. I look forward to the day when we can dispense with humanity entirely.

MissScarlett: I'm struggling to tell these games apart:

K Commons vs Denker, 1976

and a recent interloper: K Commons vs Denker, 1976

If memory serves, I was told that duplicates would get picked up if they shared the same year. These do, so please explain.

Just be sure to settle all your debts before you check out.

RE: K Commons vs Denker, 1976 vs K Commons vs Denker, 1976

If <CG> is doing a textual comparison of the movelists to determine duplicates, then these two games are not identical - contrary to the opinion of at least one member of humanity.

MissScarlett: The spaces between the move numbers and the moves?

<1.e4> vs <1. e4>?

Oct-13-22  stone free or die: <Missy> the world is not enough, this is all I want to sharing you:

HeMateMe: Is there an error in the CG.com database regarding the female player Megan Lee? She is doing well at the present USA closed women's championship, placed tenth last year. Lee has been a tournament player for the past nine years yet there are only 30 of her games in the data base here.
