| Apr-18-20 | | Big Pawn: The search, kibitz, profile and help buttons are all moved over to the left. So are the other links. |
Apr-18-20
 | | OhioChessFan: The user name and avatar in the left corner of their profile box is ugly as a mud fence. |

 | | WannaBe: <Big Pawn> Same here. <OCF> Agreed... But I would describe it as Taz Devil. =)) Another issue, "Preview Kibitz", the bottom links' font are larger than normal, it is like the HTML page is missing </font> command. And how about getting those capitalization unified?? I posted about that month ago. It's not that hard to fix this. I can do it in 2 minutes. (If I have the login ID/password to the files on server). |
| Apr-19-20 | | Alien Math: On the front page the <Black to play Carlsen vs Wang Yue> game isn't centered as it was before, it's to the left.
A minor issue it just seems awkward on some pages |
| Apr-19-20 | | thegoodanarchist: Why are so many website features Left Justified today?? I don't like it. Please change it back to how it was for 20 years - centered. |
Apr-19-20
 | | Diademas: Loads of hiccups on PC, tablet and phone alike. Houston, do we have a problem? |
Apr-19-20
 | | WannaBe: CG.com have finally admitted they are left leaning. =)) |
Apr-19-20
 | | chancho: It's like a Poltergeist has taken over the site... |
| Apr-19-20 | | thegoodanarchist: We already knew it, <WB> |
Apr-19-20
 | | MSteen: Just adding my 2 cents: Playing over games is incredibly jumpy and annoying. The pieces leap out to beyond where they should be, and then rocket back to the correct position.
Since 99% of the usefulness of this site is playing over classic and current games, this glitch has rendered the site practically useless. Please fix. |

 | | Annie K.: Ah, we're featuring some unintentional formatting today, as a byproduct of some layout work. Everything will be returned to normal soon, don't worry. :) Olga's misbehaving at the moment too, please switch to pgn4web meanwhile, until we straighten her out. |
Apr-19-20
 | | jnpope: <<Annie K.:> Ah, we're featuring some unintentional formatting today...> Good to know. I thought I may have screwed something up with my Greasemonkey removal of the Simple Search from the website... far too many times has Simple Search turned into Stupid Search for me. So *poof* it is no more and life goes on. ;-) |
Apr-19-20
 | | Annie K.: OK, both the site layout and Olga should be back to normal now. If anything still looks wacky to you, please try refreshing the page (hard refresh, Shift+F5). Visiting a game page you haven't been to recently can also help to reload Olga properly. <jnpope> the Advanced Search is the more powerful tool for the serious researcher, but the EZ Search has its uses too. :) |
Apr-19-20
 | | WannaBe: Now the font on top "Members, Laboratory..." etc (the customizable quick link bar) font is bigger. |
Apr-19-20
 | | Annie K.: We just tried it out, but I didn't like it, so it's going back to the usual size. |
Apr-19-20
 | | WannaBe: Great... now the links on the bottom are tiny... it's that <font -2> command line. May not be exact command/line for HTML. Been a long time since I did HTML programming... |
Apr-19-20
 | | chancho: The Olga Viewer... still acting like Mexican Jumping beans. |
Apr-19-20
 | | Annie K.: <WannaBe> as I said, we are working on layout improvements. There's no need to report every change you notice here, unless it's actually a problem. :) <chancho> have you tried playing through a game on a page you haven't visited recently? |
Apr-19-20
 | | chancho: <Annie> I tried your suggestion. Went to a game I haven't seen: G Walker vs Szen, 1837 and Olga still behaves oddly. I tried Pgn4web and that is working.
Maybe my laptop is acting up? |
Apr-19-20
 | | chancho: Ha!
I went to another game and switched back to Olga and it's working. Thanks! |
Apr-19-20
 | | keypusher: Olga isn't working right for me on any page. Can't input alternative moves. |
Apr-20-20
 | | Annie K.: <keypusher> please try everything suggested here. If none of it works, you will have to flush your cache to get rid of the stored problematic version. |
Apr-20-20
 | | al wazir: The latest software changes are buggy.
Olga needs to be reinstalled. Most moves take place in two steps: the piece being moved zips forward as far as it can go, then jumps to the destination square. The jerks back and forth are distracting. I'm not going to play out any games till it's fixed. And the instruction in the comment box to "Enter your comment here" is superfluous. |
Apr-20-20
 | | al wazir: I just now saw <Annie K.>'s comment. I cleared my cache and that didn't help. Go back to the previous version of the software that you changed for no obvious reason. "If it ain't broke, don't fix it." And it takes forever to load a new page at the <Kenneth S Rogoff> forum. So PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE archive the posts through at least January 1, 2019. (The archive currently runs only up to 9/1/17. It hasn't been updated since Daniel died.) |
