 | | jessicafischerqueen: <Ohio>
Good evening.
No, they didn't. I haven't posted on the CG.com forum since Sept. 26, and my posts from that day are still there. What was the post in question? Who might have posted it? Why did it get deleted? However, on the topic, I fully endorse <twinlark's> post there today, 100% support for it. |

 | | jessicafischerqueen: In fact, I have an idea.
Why not rename the Wesley So page "Barangay Tagalog". Then open a new Wesley So player page- called "Wesley So." Then put a filter on it so that tagalog words cannot be posted. The privilege of posting in tagalog on Wes's page was long ago abrogated by two groups: 1. Obscene armies of sockpuppets who actually drove <Wes> right off his own player page. 2. Productive Pilipino members, who have failed- utterly- to stand up for the integrity of this site and help restrain their out of control countrymen. In some respects I regard this second group to be more shameful. Reminds me of the "Moderate Imams" who fail- utterly- to denounce Muslim extremism, though they all claim they do. They don't.
The constructive Pilipinos at this website who post constructively in both tagalog and English have been absolutely ineffective in curbing the filth on Wes's page. <Daniel Freeman's> hope that this group would help solve the problem is hopelessly naive. As more and more long standing members such as <benzol> and <twinlark>- members who have put THOUSANDS OF MAN HOURS into building up this website- are on the verge of packing it in, it's time to figure out what side your bread is buttered on. <Daniel> seems incapable of doing this. With respect to this recent (actually long ongoing) problem, at least, <Daniel> is reminding me more and more of <Jimmy Carter>. |

 | | jessicafischerqueen: <Hugin> far from it. Are you deliberately misreading my post out of some misplaced good intention, or do you just not understand what I actually wrote? The issue is the number of Pilipino members who have made a mockery of the website, and the unwillingness/inability of constructive Pilipino members to restrain their behavior. This is precisely analogous to "moderate" Muslim Imams who claim they are against Islamofascism, but actually don't speak against it to their actual congregations. As for <Jimmy Carter>, only an idiot would fail to notice his good heart and many humanitarian projects. The fact remains, however, that he was, arguably, the most ineffective US President in American history. Similarly, Daniel Freeman has a good heart and I love his website. But I argue he has dropped the ball on this Pilipino issue on the <Wesley So> page. When <Wesley So> himself agrees with my argument- and it's hardly *my* argument, <tpstar> has been warning this would happen for a long time- that is definitive proof that the problem is real. And <Wesley So> did in fact agree with my argument, his final post is on his own player page. Go back there and read it for yourself. Inform yourself before accusing me of unjustified criticism. Do your homework before you speak to me like that in my own forum. More, <Wesely So> expressed himself with a great deal more indignation and anger than did I. In fact, uncharacteristically for him, he actually used ad hominem language in his address to his so-called "supporters." In addition, one imagines Wes didn't want his mother reading or posting on a page any longer that featured posts accusing other CG.com members of "sucking the cocks of goats." Were you aware that in the past, Wes's mother regularly read and posted on his player page? If you weren't aware of this, again, do your homework. You can't type the phrase "sucking the cocks of goats" at this website. That's a violation of this website's posting guidelines. But not if Daniel can't read Tagalog, it isn't. To sum up:
There is a serious problem on the Wesley So page that has since spread to other pages. Daniel's plan to address this problem, so far, has been a weak-kneed and dismal failure. |

Oct-06-11 | | brankat: Hi Jess,
It is unfortunate the word "goat(s)" was being used in a number of quite offensive phrases at the So, So page. After all goats are smarter (together with a number of other beings), and certainly better looking than most of the people are. |

Oct-06-11 | | Hugin: Moderate Muslims/schoolars and moderate imam's came strongly out against extremenism after 9.11.2001. They condemmed the crime/terror and some of em said straight out, it was against the teaching of islam. Many of em have done so over and over again during the years..Even muslim countries have taken the side against terrorism in the war against the very same.. The notion no moderate muslim/ imam /schoolars or regular muslims does not condem terror is i am affraid a media myth. On this subject i have done my homework during many years Jessica:). Now you'r posted view on Jimmy Carter is a opinion we can agree or disagree on it and both be right...Because it depend on which side of the political landscape you stands...What views u hold and support etc etc. When it comes to Wesley So's page it's sad if he left and it's also sad if some made him leave....But to give filipinos the burden of cleaning up among other filipinos is a bit tribal view, ain't we all part of the same humanity? Perhaps there is a culture among the filipinos that makes it hard to moderate those misbehaving no matter how much they wants?. Personally i can't deal with all Norwegians wheter they are christians muslims jews or whatever if any of em misbehave. I doubt u can do the same with koreans canadians or whatever religion/nationality u belongs to or not...I am even sure u sometimes have to step carefully and sometimes say nothing no matter how much u want's?:). I was at sleep when u responded to my good intention post i was not insulting at all but very carefully pointing indirect out it was a bit to much. Well i may be wrong in parts of it but if i could not react peacefully with good intention to you'r posting i feelt was a bit out there, how do u expect filipinos can deal with the Wesley So page?. The last was rethorical but you are a bright individual, and won't have any problem understanding the points made though u may disagree. If this makes u mad at me and make u feel i am unfair i can't do anything about that. This is my views on the subject keep it or delete it put me on ignore or whatever, you'r choice. Best regards. |

 | | jessicafischerqueen: <Doggimus> well here's the long version. Ok over a year ago a subscriber sent me an email (yes- really he did- heh) requesting a video biography of <Nezh>. I hadn't even heard of him. So I looked at his games and I thought holy crap this guy is exciting. So I told the subscriber "thanks" and I would do it.
So then I got the Pishkin book and Nezh's autobiography last summer from Amazon- at that time there were several used copies of each available and I got them for around 12 dollars each I think. Now they are going for 125 bucks at Amazon but I believe <TheFocus> knows online booksellers who offer these Nezh books at reasonable prices. Anyways I was working on Pillsbury at the time, but then my copy of a Rubinstein biography arrived and I got sidetracked and spent the next five months working on that. Then I was on to another project, but I read a random story on <Rossolimo> and got caught up with it. So then I finally got back to <Nezh>. However in fact I organized my folders a few months ago and I'm working simultaneously on over a dozen video biographies. Getting books, getting photos and film clips, reading the books, playing through the games, I spend almost every free minute doing that. I also got a whole pile of new audiovisual software and it took me months and months to learn how to use it. So I'm hoping a time will come soon when it doesn't take me five months to make one 45 minute movie. Also I had a kind of odd experience on youtube awhile back that made me realize it would be a poor idea to release any biographies on players who were still alive. So I'm not going to be doing any of that, although I still compile research on them. I like my job, but if I was an eccentric millionaire I would spend all day every day researching chess history. It takes a long time. Well it takes me a long time anyways. So it's anyone's guess which master gets to the top of the cue, I'm easily distracted so I don't even know. |

 | | jessicafischerqueen: <Hugin> good grief no- I understand your follow up post, thanks for making it. We've known each other a long time, there's no reason we can't disagree, even strongly, on an issue or even many issues at the same time. Don't worry about it from my end, you're welcome at all times in my forum. I did go over to the <So> page after I posted and saw you and <hms123> trying to mend fences there- I hadn't seen that before, so it's me, apparently, who's not doing her homework. Good work you are doing on the <So> page, <hugin>, you have my respect for that. I hope your efforts bear fruit.
Best regards,
Jess |
