Apr-14-09:<jessicafischerqueen> <569 Pages- Now Officially the Most Overweight Forum in CG.com History>

I'd just like to say something to my friends-

I first came to this website looking for <Bobby Fischer> games to play through.

I found it through <Wikipedia>.

So all summer I happily played through <Bobby's> games- and eventually the games of many others.

I saw <Kibbutzes> all over the place, but it didn't even occur to me that I was allowed to make them too.

Eventually, during the <Elista World Series of Poker, starring Topalov v. Kramnik>, I decided I wanted to say something too.

So I "registered" and immediately met <Daniel Pi>, who I regret to say I have alienated forever, and for no good reason I can think of. But I also met <Niels> and <Chessmoron>, and soon after <Brankat>.

What wonderful chess company they offered me!

Then I met lots more wonderful people and decided to buy my own house.

<Branko> and <Domdaniel> had been letting me sleep on their floor, which was very nice of them.

Soon, I was playing 300 games of Correspondence Chess in my Profile and almost had a nervous breakdown, and decided never to do that again.

After that, I posted the word "Quack" more than 75,000 times in a row just to "beef up the page count."

This would turn out to be my most valuable contribution, in my judgement, to the <CG.com> community.

Then I started a SPAM WAR with <Branko> and <Chessmoron> that that was so vicious that <CG.com> actually eliminated the <Most Popular Forum> category from their Statistics Page.

Actually that was probably the least valuable thing I've done at this website.

After that, I can't really remember much of what happened.

I think I may have typed the word "Quack" a few hundred thousand more times in a row.

I like typing "Quack."

Oh yes now I remember.

I met the most wonderful group of chess penpals in the world. We have been laughing and loving and quarrelling and studying chess together for years.

Friends, old and new. What a great, great website this is.

I've been suspended twice and threatened on numerous occasions by the <long suffering administrators>.

I'd just like to thank <Daniel Freeman> in particular for the unwarranted amount of patience he has shown with me.

Cripe.

Anyways, I play chess whenever I get the chance, and I can't play in a Club because I live in a forest in rural Korea.

But I never feel alone because of all of you.

THANK YOU SO MUCH!!

<Niels, Wilson, Brankat, Domdaniel, Eyal, Deffi, Twinlark, Bill, Woody, Howard, Tim, mack, Samikid, Bishop of Blunder, MannBee, chessclassics, slomarko, nakosonorense, Joe Wms, Laskereshevsky, The Alchemist, ziggurat, zebra, veigaman, squares, Plato, Elixir of Life, Technical Draw, Square Dance, hitman, talisman, What the Fat, and special thanks to <<<Ragh>>> for putting up with my temper tantrums and being such a true blue pal of infinite patience>

And wonderful new friends <blacksburg, Travis, notyetagm, chancho, crawfb5, madly deeply, Hoot Robin, malthrope the magnificent, capatal, KlankenKlunkenFroggenFarben, Tyler, Pyke, Stony, and if I left anyone out deepest apologies>.

I love this website and I love all of you too. Especially <Eyal and Niels and Dom, who have been the most "intimate" of my friends here>

Quack!!

Oct-25-12  Alien Math: The Google as you claimed also talked about, provides complete support towards <data processing>, cute term that explains what they use data for.

Continual informed usage for their Ads, an yes it should be removed along with any extra programs, as google <suggests you install>, for better or obviously for worst, unless you support imperialistic data farmers that only wish to supply nations with info to use against their followers who install such.

Best wishes toward your continual assault against the Google, their terms are unconditional and enslaving, offerings of luck towards the winds, and a penny

Oct-25-12  playground player: <Jessicafischerqueen> Got my quarterly sales figures today. What adjective shall I use? Horrible; pathetic; miserable; anemic; bloody lousy... How to choose among so many?

And that's with uniformly good reviews! Where would I be if I'd gotten bad reviews? (I didn't get where I am today by getting bad reviews.)

I could've told them, up front, that if the author is any good as an author, he's just about sure to stink as a publicity agent. But of course publishers want to save money by not hiring a real publicity agent.

Oh, well. Years ago it was my big-shot New York publisher: the first printing of my first novel sold out real fast, and when the distributors asked for more, the publisher said sorry, we don't do second printings--it ain't allowed for in our formula.

Oct-25-12  WBP: Hey, <Jess> : A note from the underground: I know you're very involved with very worthy projects (Alekhine, Capablanca), and I have enjoyed following the progress to some degree through these pages (even if I don't comment). But I wanted to alert you--and everyone else--of an exciting new book: Wlater Browne's The Stress of Chess...and Its Infinite Finesse. I just now received it, and it looks terrific! 101 fully annotated games, lots and lots of commentary, biography, and reminiscene, photographs (including one of him playing Sinatra in Vegas. I have always loved the way he plays and look forward to devouring this book with much pleasure.

jessicafischerqueen: <Lee> keep the faith- the good thing about your books, as opposed to websites or electronic chess documentaries, is that they aren't going to just "disappear" some day.

Also, the people who have bought and read them will forever be in your debt.

I have similar feelings though. Thanks to the enhanced youtube statistics feature, I can now see exactly how many people watch my videos to the end.

NOT MANY, it turns out....

sigh

Oct-25-12  Travis Bickle: Hello Jess! ; P

Here's a Beatles song I don't think you've heard before from Beatles 65 in The U.S. and I think released on Beatles For Sale in The U.K. It is probably my least favorite song by them as it sounds a bit odd. But it's not all bad because afterall it is The Beatles. ; P

Oct-26-12  Travis Bickle: Hey Jess, here's a great song that flew way below the radar from Paul McCartney's early days with Wings.

The Note You Never Wrote - Paul McCartney & Wings (featuring Denny Laine on lead vocal.) http://youtu.be/4iedR4qrfCs

jessicafischerqueen: <Tdog> Actually I like "Mr. Moonlight" a great deal, and I never heard it before. It has a bossa nova beat, which I think works excellent in a pop song. Also, I like when the vocal is strained to the limit, husky from tobacco use.

<Denny Laine> Never heard that one before, and amazing how much he sounds like John or Paul?!

Was he copying them do you think? Great song also, at any rate.

Oct-27-12  playground player: <Jessicafischerqueen> That was an extraordinarily nice thing you said about my books. Thank you!

I am sorry to report that my brother-in-law's co-author on the Jersey Devil books, Jim McCloy, has died after a very long illness. He'd been on borrowed time for years. I think the thing that kept him going was that he was always looking forward to his next bit of work--he didn't really have time to be sick: so much to write, so little time in which to do it. Death had a hard time catching up to him.

Oct-27-12  Travis Bickle: The more you listen to Mr Moonlight the more it grows on ya. ; P

On the song 'The Note You Never wrote' from The 1976 album 'Wings at the Speed of Sound', McCartney tried to appease the critics who said in reviews of some earlier records that his band Wings was just session players to Paul. So McCartney asked his fellow musicians Denny Laine & Jimmy McCulloch to contribute to the album with some songs.

When I first heard this song I thought it was McCartney and then halfway through realized it was not him. Denny Laine sounds at times like John Lennon and imo mostly like Paul, I think because Paul is harmonizing in the song. Whether Denny Laine intentionally tried to sound like John & Paul's style I don't know, but it seems that way to me.
