< chessgames.com: On the subject of attributions:

We've seen some very nice historical tournaments now with the little writing [between brackets] at the bottom of the page, like a footnote.

We think that is a very good practice. Not only does it recognize those who invested their time into making the page, it also serves as a good reference if we ever need to go back and double check something, or ask the creator in order research a question.>

Nov-18-12  notyetagm: I Krush vs Huang Qian, 2012

<HeMateMe: I wonder why black won this game. As the middle game ended, they each had four pawns, same side of the board, symmetrical set up. Seems drawable. <<<But, Krush makes a move that makes one of her pawns backward, and the house caves in.>>>>

It wasn't just the <BACKWARD PAWN> that doomed Krush, it was the <OFFSIDE ROOK>.

What exactly is the White rook doing on h3??? If that White h3-rook was on b1 or d1, then White would be fine.

To me this game is a perfect example of Dr. Tarrasch's saying <"IF ONE PIECE IS BAD, THEN THE WHOLE POSITION IS BAD">. It's almost as if White is playing down by a rook.

Nov-19-12  Travis Bickle: Jess here's The Beatles making a comedy record that was on the flip side of the single of Let It Be. Brian Jones of The Rolling Stones plays some brief saxophone on this. Paul says it's his favorite Beatles song, I guess from a nostalgia point of view. I love the line by Lennon... "Hello & welcome to Slaggers." A sleazy nightclub. ; P

An easy missed win by White today.

<The game between Nadezhda Kosintseva (Russia) and Anna Ushenina (Ukraine) was extremely nervous and full of action. The players castled to the opposite sides of the board and began preparing for mutual attacks. At some point Ushenina, being under time pressure, made several inferior moves, and her position became much worse. <<<Kosintseva even had a chance to win in one move, but missed the winning continuation.>>> After the control the game ended in a draw by repetition, despite White still being a pawn up.>

jessicafischerqueen: <Travis> "You Know my Name" what class, everything they did turned to gold eh?

I think one reason that maybe isn't talked about so much is because of how intelligent the fab four were.

They would have been successes in any field, I have no doubt.

I like the "mini-opera" format of this number as well, reminds me of the Who's "A Quick One" which is also intended to be comical.
