Dec-08-12  TheFocus: <jessica> Thanks for deleting those old links to my <Our Boy Bobby's> collections.

I am in the process of re-creating them, only much better than before, with cross-tables and proper intros, links to videos, etc.

Your Alekhine Metacollection gave me this idea.

jessicafischerqueen: It's looking great already, fabulous and I'll remount them as you go. We can have comprehensive and historically accurate archives organized and presented for the two greatest to play the game: Bobby and Johnny Alekhine.
Dec-08-12  Boomie: <Jessieroo>

We're still hearing CG babble about women not having the stones to make it in chess.

Maybe they should check out Griselda Blanco, a drug queenpin. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grisel...

She named her youngest son Michael Corleone Blanco...heh. She really loved the Godfather.

Ironically she was killed in a motorcycle drive by shooting in Columbia a couple of months ago. This is a technique she invented when she ruled Miami during its Miami Vice days. There were no competitors during the Miamai blizzard because she had either had them killed or chased them oout of town.

Dec-08-12  Boomie: <Jessie>

"oout". I believe that's the Canadian spelling.

Phony Benoni: <jfq> Peter has not been active on the site for some months. I fear that the dreaded Real Life has caught up to him, or possibly just burnout.

We may be at the point where his unfinished collections will have to be redone from scratch. If you want to take it on, I compiled some lists that may be of use. I'll look into them after dinner.

jessicafischerqueen: <Phony Benoni> Thanks for the update. I trust and hope <Peter> is well- maybe he is getting a post-doc or a job at a university.

Your lists will be a great help, but for the moment I need to finish up the things I already started before tackling new constructions.

We will all figure this out later. Luckily, there are still lots of <Peter's> USSR Championships that are completed.

Dec-10-12  Thanh Phan: <jessicafischerqueen> Happy Holiday ^.^ hope you gain some time to enjoy during the holidays,

Have read of the conflict surrounding the book, and wished we could help somehow, best wishes

jessicafischerqueen: <Thanh> well it's a happy conflict because in fact, the Russian version isn't really a "version." It's the previously unpublished second half of the story told in the English edition.

Both the Russian and the English book are sourced from the same primary documents that were collected and saved by <Petrovs> family.

The English version has advantages too- it includes crosstables of all <Petrovs> events and also all known games he played are published.

The Russian version has none of that, it just has the rest of the missing family history, and the vast majority of it is written by his wife.

So together the two books combine to make a rich and detailed history of <Vladimirs Petrovs>, the man and the chess master.

McShane (Black) was down an exchange but blunders a rook for two pieces. So now he is down by a whole piece and immediately resigned.

Dec-10-12  Travis Bickle: Jess thanks for all the music & comments you made on Paul McCartney.

I'm going to close my forum down because there's just too many f%$#^&@ morons on this site.
