Jul-15-13  Travis Bickle: Hey Jess, Jinx! I played that 349 Sugar song on The Kibitzer Cafe last night. ; P

P.S. I like their sound a lot! The Cat Power tune was good also!

jessicafischerqueen: <T-bone> I never heard that Beatles track before either. I like the jangling guitar, which is coming out of my left speaker.

That means it's in STEREO!

heh

I'm going to test my "Beatles" recognition ability.

Going blind, that's <John> singing right?

  jessicafischerqueen: <McLovin> Jinx!

Just yesterday I became aware of some buzz about "The Conjuring" on IMDB.

It looks promising- I had a hard look on the web but it's not been ripped yet.

On topic of horror movies, I find the IMDB 5.4 rating of <Rob Zombie's> new movie to be A TRAVESTY.

For me, "The Lords of Salem" is by far his best film yet. He cast his daughter in the lead role too.

It's a tour de force. I especially like how he introduced an air raid siren into the sound mix- unique and terrifying.

I think Rob Zombie is the most talented horror director out there. One reason is that he's not afraid to make a bad movie. He tries new things.

His remake of "Halloween" was outstanding for the first half, but then disappointed a bit in the second half by following the story of the original too closely- almost scene by scene.

"The Lords of Salem" is the latest of his more successful experiments, and I have already watched it twice in EXTREMELY HIGH RESOLUTION.

Visually, it's gorgeous.

Jul-16-13  Travis Bickle: Hi Jess, John sings lead but Paul also sings harmony at key times in the song.

P.S. Here's is the flip side of that 45 rpm release. It's a rarity in that Paul wrote the words but the song suited Lennon's voice better. Paul also harmonizes on this track. These 2 songs were issued on a North American album release only called Beatles VI.

jessicafischerqueen: <Tim> your latest round of "name mangling" is your best yet. Concise and utterly appropriate manglings.

You should be one of the live commentators in the booth. You could give the fearless <Nigel Short-cake> a run for his money.

On that topic, I have watched every single Ali fight. Every one is on youtube and I watched them all.

Don Dumphy is great as you say- but Howard Cosell is the greatest of all, for my money. None of which I actually spent, mind.

jessicafischerqueen: <tbone> I got one right! Finally.

I know the 8 days a week song it's great. What a weird concept eh?

A two track Album.

Jul-16-13  Travis Bickle: No Jess, I confused you, it was released as a single and an album with many more songs on the LP.

  jessicafischerqueen: hehe thanks <Travis>.

The detail of your Beatles history knowledge continues to astound.

Have you ever considered starting a Beatles website, or a combination Beatles and Music history website?

There are all these ready made programs for free that you can use to make a website- like a blog for example.

If I'm not mistaken, you don't have to pay anything to get one up and running.

Remember <Deffi> has her own chess website that also features her music eh?

Jul-16-13  Travis Bickle: Nah Jess, your the 1 with the fine mind around here. I am just your resident Beatles expert. ; P

P.S. If I started up a Beatles website then I'd have to have a sit down with The Godfathers... Sir Macca & Mr. Starr. ; P

  jessicafischerqueen: <fine mind>

Thanks Travis but recent events don't bear this out.

I noticed that I have been making an unusually large amount of spelling errors at Cg.com over the last week.

I was actually just thinking- could it be because there's dried pineapple juice on my keyboard, or could it be early onset dementia?

Only time will tell...

Possibly I should clean my keyboard. Maybe I'll do it later.

Jul-16-13  Travis Bickle: <jessicafischerqueen: Heh... I bet they wouldn't try to stop you. For all we know they are reading about Beatles history in your forum already.> Hey Jess, a local friend from a pub once told me, that I know more about The Beatles than The Beatles, Bwahahahaha!!!

P.S. Did you know that in the song Paperback Writer John & George are singing backing vocals "Frère Jacques"... ; )
