The Firesign Theater is required hearing for discerning humorists. And for folks like us, too. This is their first album. Earphones are required. These are radio guys and they used stereo extensively to great effect. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2I2P... |

 | | jessicafischerqueen: <Tbone> Thanks for that interesting video of Bob's "Rainy Day Broads"= it's quite fascinating to look at the little vinyl record actually playing. I am listening to Paperback Writer right now- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=taAD... but I can't hear the FRERE JACQUES? Is it on anther version of the track, or do I have sand in my ears? |

 | | jessicafischerqueen: <Take a Leko> heh... Vintage <BOMBED> you gave me all those Fireplace links three years ago and I did listen to them. They are wacky as you say, but dated in my view. A few too many Borscht Belt inspired groaners for me. This isn't necessarily a pan, as I also find Monty Python episodes dated. Still funny though, maybe I heard the skits too many times. |

 | | jessicafischerqueen: <Ohio> Yes I was actually physically shocked to see <BIG BIO> come to life so suddenly. When I log onto cg.com, I don't necessarily think I'm going to be watching <Frankenstein>. BIG BIO may also be known as SPEEDY BIO.
I took a look and he seems to have loaded up enough work to keep you <Ohioizing> for the next few years. You two really are the Dynamic Duo of biographers. |

 | | jessicafischerqueen: <Hanh> those two links you gave me are tantalizing. How do we work the "visual piano tutorial"? Can we create virtual music with a program that uses the color bars? Also that Russky film looks like a gripping drama. I'd have to find English subtitles in order to watch it though. |

"Everybody must get stoned" fits with the previous post. If I'm not mistaken you are suggesting I may be tripping? If so, what a relief. I thought I might be going mental. |

| Jul-19-13 | | Travis Bickle: <jessicafischerqueen: ...I am listening to Paperback Writer right now- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=taAD... but I can't hear the FRERE JACQUES?> Jess I just listened & heard it on the link you provided. Put on headphones and listen to the song, at 1:02 - 1:12 & again at 1:20 - 1:30 of the song you will hear Lennon & Harrison in really high pitched voices singing it.P.S. EMU was sent earlier... |

Sorry about the Firesign Department of Redundancy Department. I blame the mad cow. Allow me to make amends by suggesting the fine Morse prequel "Endeavor". The first few offerings have been cracking good mysteries. Boomie at the Boobie again... |

 | | jessicafischerqueen: <Stim heat>
No worries, I had a look at this "Enpalaver" and decided to download the entire first season based solely on your recommendation. Looks promising. Your TV picks continue to be gold, particularly on the British side. |
|
| Jul-19-13 | | Boomie: <Jessie>
Usually the Brit TV versions are superior but the recent explosion of Sherlock Holmes series shows the Yanks can surpass them on occassion. The latest Brit version of Holmes was just ridiculous. In the final episode both Moriarty and Holmes commit suicide. Sociopaths like Moriarty never ever commit suicide. And a narcissist like Holmes giving the full measure to save friends? Not gonna happen. The real Homesy would find another way. However the wildly popular American version with Loosie Loo is quite good. Apparently the only connection to Home Boy and Watson is the brand. But at least it is a fun watch. Of course, none of these can match the quality of the 80's version. Jeremy Brat will always be remembered as the real Homey. |

 | | jessicafischerqueen: Yes, I downloaded all the <Bratwurst> and watched it five years ago. Did you know the French pronounce "Holmes" as "Euuuuuuuuulm"? |
|
| Jul-19-13 | | Boomie: Did you ever download Cadfael? Arguably the finest detective show ever to appear on the small stage. Derek and the Dominoes Jacoby is achingly perfect in that role. I mentioned it a few years back when it was impossible to find on the U Tuber. |
|
Jul-19-13
 | | jessicafischerqueen: It is, however possible to torrent it, which I did some time ago. I have been enjoying tasty <Cadbury Products> ever since. <Jacob Two Two> is also fine in <I, Robot> which some mistakenly think is a Will Smith movie. It's actually about ancient Rome and very good. <John it Hurts so Good> plays <Caligula>. |
