 | | jessicafischerqueen: <Niels>
heh.... I was wondering who was in your apartment.
Yes, that's absolutely beautiful that interior of the piano. Not a speck of dust on it either eh?
The doggy was more beautiful though. A good dog in a basket can save your life in the field... |
|
| Aug-07-13 | | N0B0DY: <technical draw: I am not <everyone>. > You might say that. <In fact I am nobody.> How dare you say that? |
|
| Aug-07-13 | | achieve: And your mom was right about mice; they love to run up and down along the strings, let alone eat at the abundance of for them edible materials.... It's a nightmare once they set up shop inside a piano. <Not a speck of dust on it, eh?> Hardly! HAHAHAHAA!
heh
But you can indeed see that it is maintained well, after all I am a piano tuner on the side so I should take care of its interior, regularly. |

 | | OhioChessFan: <Even when I do have a point that I, at least, think is valid, when I use an angry and needlessly disrespectful tone to try to make the point, any hope of the point being made is lost.> So, is it the group here you should be telling that? |

Aug-07-13
 | | WCC Editing Project: <Ohio> Not sure if you are hinting I should say something directly to Nat? I'm not going to do that. My end is over, for better or worse. In terms of direct communication between us, she got the last word in this go round, same as two years ago, and I'm leaving it at that. |
|
| Aug-07-13 | | achieve: LoesR: <MarkFinan: I wouldn't worry about it at all.. Most the people that commented are hypocrites anyways and i knew as soon as they realised it was you they'd start acting like the two faced creeps they are..>
<Jess> How long are you going to keep up that you are buying this kind of BS from stupid? We (and Dom and several others) have quite a long history of indeed protecting eachother or at least telling it like it is in a protective sense, not to let it be called - or me, us, be called - two faced creeps and hypocrites, or worse. You confirmed so yourself, and remember the times that we in fact did pull eachother out of the fire in time? End of the line right here; Finan has defiled the CG pages long enough, including my name, and if you keep entertaining him like you do, I can not but pull the plug. Advice me what other strategy is available to me, and I will consider it, but this kind of BS and basically ass kissing-insulting combo is not in any conceivable way tolerable. Shame also on guys to put you through this type of ordeal, including myself, but as of this moment this is all I got. Forced. <Aug-07-13

MarkFinan: I think its crazy enough people call NP "Beautiful"! She's half decent lookswise but i wouldn't look twice if i saw her in a bar.. And I'm another that doesn't like the way achieve puts things, he's a complete moron who kisses ass. And although id.class Jess as a friend i thought she was out of order with WGM Pogonina. I think not only does it date back to the World v Pogo spat with her idiotic husband and manager, but imo there's a little jealousy there too.. It was the most innocuous of comments that set her off, and Jess is one of the people who wants GM's posting here (as do we all) so to go off on her like that was out of line.. And i knew once people realised lotsapoppa was Jess they'd start acting all greasy and trying to explain that what they said at the time wasn't actually meant the way it came out etc..etc.. Its people pleasing and ass kissing, achieve being a prime example.. Hell, at least focus stuck to his guns!> There's your 'Mark' for ya. If anything I tend to be critical even towards my friends, but here you go. Pure lies, libel and harrassment, enough to get banned, except if he receives similar protection that angslo received. Take care. |

 | | WCC Editing Project: <Niels> I don't agree at all with what <Mark> said about you. Quite the contrary, as you point out you and I have a long history of honest, critical communication that I believe has been of great mutual benefit. Even when we are arguing, something good will generally come of it. |

| Aug-07-13 | | chessmoron: <I didn't see any new ground broken in this film.> Indeed it was formulaic. But I believe James Wan did well with the camera to create tension.
<I was wondering "why so many daughters in the family"? There was no chance to develop any of their characters because there were too many of them.> Well the real life Perron family did have that many daughters. I think the actresses that play their daughters did their jobs of being scared s*itless without being stoic. I did have problems with the character that plays the dad of Perrons. It did not do anything for me. |
|
Aug-07-13
 | | WCC Editing Project: <McLovin> yes "the Dad" he's not a very good actor IMO, and I've seen him in few films. They didn't give him much help in the screenplay either. I wasn't aware that the number of daughters was a matter of historical accuracy though- thanks for letting me know that. |
|
Aug-07-13
 | | WCC Editing Project: <Mark> with respect to me and <achieve>, we are very good friends with a long history, and we understand each other very well. I think the world of him, so in future please don't insult him in my forum, ok? |

Aug-07-13
 | | WCC Editing Project: <McLovin> since we're talking about movies again for the first time in years, I'd like to quote a movie- "I'm very happy to be working together with you again, Blondie." Do you recognize the movie? |
|
| Aug-07-13 | | chessmoron: "I'll kill them all!" |

 | | WCC Editing Project: <McLovin> hehe
Nicely done, nicely done.
Did you see <Sinister> yet? I thought that was one of the better new horrors I've seen. I really like when the narrative has a character (Ethan Hawke in this case) researching a supernatural story, which unfolds gradually throughout the film. Maybe <Rosemary's Baby> is one of the best examples of this narrative device. I also like it when the final explanation is logical and there aren't any plot holes. |
|
Aug-07-13
 | | WCC Editing Project: <McLovin> heh you are bringing back good memories. Such as my all time favorite move review ever, anywhere. Do you remember this one? <Nakosonorense>: "Screw you. I liked it." |
|
| Aug-07-13 | | Shams: <jfq> <Maybe <Rosemary's Baby> is one of the best examples of this narrative device.> One of the best and most brilliantly manipulative films ever made. I'm running low on tannis root; have any to spare? |
|
Aug-07-13
 | | WCC Editing Project: Heh... Looks like you may have picked a bad decade to give up tannis root. "brilliantly manipulative," that's an interesting phrase. It reminded me of <Pauline Kael's> pan of "The Exorcist," which she really hated. She complained that the film was so manipulative that it was mechanical and soulless. She's my favorite film critic all time, I have read every one of her books several times over. But I think she missed the boat on <The Exorcist>. I don't deny that it's manipulative, but it's also a ripping good movie. See you can tell I'm not a real film critic because I use phrases like "a ripping good movie." |
|
| Aug-07-13 | | chessmoron: No, I have not. Will watch it this Halloween with a couple of friends. <<Nakosonorense>: "Screw you. I liked it."> Ha! I remember. |
|
Aug-07-13
 | | WCC Editing Project: <McLovin> it's an excellent choice for a Halloween viewing. Halloween horror movie nights are great- be sure to have a bunch lined up, in case some of them suck. I've been trolling IMDB for years now and I think I may have seen every horror movie rated <4.0> or higher. One movie in the <4.0> range I really loved was "Yellowbrick Road." http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1398428... |
