Do you have any special plans or recipes for Angstgiving this year?

Nov-27-13  Travis Bickle: Hey Jess, Mazzy Star performed on tv the other night at the end of the Jimmy Fallon Show & damn I fell asleep right before she came on! : 0

"Here I come to save the day!"

Heh. Can't get enough of that.

Best of luck with the mulled squid. Be sure to first marinade in its ink for a day before braising and mulling. Serve with candied [insert indigenous tuber here] and something mashed with gravy.

I remain, as always, shaken but not stirred.

Nov-29-13  thegoodanarchist: <jessicafischerqueen: Good Heavens I just noticed that all my friends have "don't show recent kibbutzing" enabled.

Is this a bad sign?

-Worried>

Isn't that the column on the right hand side of the home page? Or are you talking about a user setting?

If you think so highly of this feature then I want to enable it to see the awesomeness for myself.

  jessicafischerqueen: My dear <anarchist>

I think you go to the "preference" section of your profile and click or unclick some box or other.

I'd tell you more but I can't be arsed to find out for myself.

I'm a very lazy girl.

I don't like the feature for selfish reasons- I like to go to the "chessforums" page and be able to read what folks are talking about.

However I think many people have the function turned off because of the <World v. The Gingerbread Man>.

Others may use the feature because they don't want nosy screwheads peeking at their recent kibbutzes. I fully support this wish for privacy, especially against screwheads.

Remind me never to go to <Rogoff> page again. It's a little dispiriting to drop by there out of morbid curiosity and see some quite offensive blasphemy sitting there at the moment.

It's meant to be humor but I think it crosses the line. Just in time for Christmas!

Anyways I like a dirty joke as much as the next girl but this particular blasphemy isn't funny on a comedic level- it's not clever, not witty, not funny at all. Plus it's blasphemous, and quite deliberately calculated to poke at some of our Christian members.

I didn't get where I am today by enjoying blasphemy.

I think it fails "The Christmas test" as <achieve> once put it. Actually he told me I failed "The Christmas test" by starting a honking argument on Christmas eve a few years ago.

I can't even remember what I did, but I remember <achieve> was right about it.

At any rate me complaining about this kind of thing is the pothead calling the kitty black, since I have a terrible record of viciously attacking people at this website.

Still, Merry Christmas, my good <anarchist>!

jessicafischerqueen: <Tim> why don't we start a "cooking show" forum?

I think it's just what this website needs.

We could put in a few "Cheese" recipes to fulfill the requirement that we have to talk about "Cheese" in our forums.

Since this is meant to be a Cheese website.

Nov-29-13  thegoodanarchist: <jessicafischerqueen: My dear <anarchist>

Good! I love clicking some box or other :)

<Others may use the feature because they don't want nosy screwheads peeking at their recent kibbutzes....>

I've noticed there are one or two of those folks poking around the internet.

<Remind me never to go to <Rogoff> page again. It's a little dispiriting to drop by there out of morbid curiosity and see some quite offensive blasphemy sitting there at the moment.>

What I find dispiriting is the lack of critical thinking that gets posted there.

I haven't been to that page in quite a while because even simple achievements, such as trying to get agreement that there is a difference between a typo and willful ignorance, seems impossible.

Nov-29-13  Boomie: <jessicafischerqueen: <Tim> why don't we start a "cooking show" forum?>

We'll call it "Cooking Without Looking"

All I want to do, ever, is just eat cheese.

As a "Nortwestern Yank" you may appreciate this because this slang derives from that area.

I vividly remember my first trip into the rest room of a bar in Bellingham because there was a gigantic graffitum scrawled on the stall

"CHEESEHEADS GO HOME."

I was pleased to learn later that Cheesheads are Canadians!

Nov-30-13  Open Defence: i always thought they were hosers...

They are brilliant- odd they are best known for the theme music for "South Park."

Hosers live back east. Here are hosers in their natural environment:

Merry Christmas <Deffi>!

Nov-30-13  Boomie: <Jess a Belle: I was pleased to learn later that Cheesheads are Canadians!>

Never heard of it. I would have guessed Green Bay Packer fans who actually show up for games wearing giant cheese wedges on their heads.

You can see why we'd want to keep these bad boys out.

What about a second course?

Not really. Packer fans are universally known as Cheeseheads.

Nov-30-13  Open Defence: Hi whoever renewed my premium membership i thank them deeply, however i have given up chess and rarely come the site anymore having taken up other pursuits, mainly music and photography while being busy raising the family (so-called grown ups included)

i would gladly support cg.com and renew my membership if i was still interested in chess but unfortunately i am not at the moment and i hope you understand.

Jess if it was you who renewed it thanks and i do hope you understand, i am posting this here in your forum as i have made most of my recent posts here before the renewal.

i have written to chessgames.com to cancel and refund and once again thank you kind person whoever you are.

Nov-30-13  Nf3em: Wow! This forum is full Bobby's games ... thanks indeed <jfq> for I don't need to spend time searching for these games/matches/etc by myself ;-)
Nov-30-13  MarkFinan: Well firstly I can report that court went well, as far as those things can go anyway! My life and time as a master criminal with mafiosa ties (As the ex cop AJ thinks haha!) are well and truly over, put it that way. Too old, too wise too sick of it all, and back to normal in January! I have to see bad things as blessings in disguise or clouds with silver linings, because I don't believe in karma as I don't do anybody real harm! I'll live, I been through a lot worse!

Anyways, I came really to post this clip from Blackadder 2 where he has to explain the phrase "great booze up!" and I just happen to think its brilliant bordering genius scene in the greatest ever British comedy... but it's the wrong url link! Lol, I'll find it again because it's classic. I love how the most evilly sarcastic man ever is placed bbetween 2 complete simpletons! It ccreates scenes of great English, slightly eccentric humour 😃

Nov-30-13  Open Defence: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=krgU...
Nov-30-13  MarkFinan: That's the right episode, it misses that clip by about a minute though.

http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=1BxFlm...

This is the genius of finding a few idiots, and sticking a very intelligent, handsome, bored, sarcastic man amongst them, haha. Btw I know how Blackadder feels above I was really up against it in something that could actually have come from the show itself! Not that I'm bitter ofccourse!!!! ;)
