| Feb-06-11 | | Travis Bickle: Buddy Holly greatly influenced Lennon & McCartney to the point of naming their band The Beatles similar to The Crickets.
Here's a Buddy Holly song The Beatles covered in 1964, before they started recording only their own songs. Words Of Love

I'm starting to feel somewhat better.
I'm still coughing but not like a few days ago.
Thanks for asking. |

 | | jessicafischerqueen: <krmr> wow I really hated that video- terrible almost beyond belief. I hate Disco, with a few exceptions. I like the <Blondie> disco song "Heart of Glass" for example. However, I can't stress this enough- please don't censor yourself when dropping selections in my forum. You never know when I might love the next one. You have already put me on to many, many artists I would never have heard from, and more to come I'm certain. Whenever I see a new link from you, I get excited- because with you, it's impossible to predict what you're going to hear. tks mstr

I'm going to borrow some of your unique humor (I doubt I can do your humor justice) by saying: Here's Ozzie and Harriet and ten of their uncles: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UXAa... |

| Feb-06-11 | | TheFocus: <wwall> <TheFocus> <Any way to list even the minor mistakes in Endgame? Edward Winter said he (we) sent several pages to Brady, but they were not included in the final copy. I have found a few minor errors, usually about a chess tournament, what place Fischer ended up, and perhaps some chronological errors.> Although Brady has done a good book. There are quite a few mistakes and highly questionable statements that have no support. I am sure there are some that I have overlooked. I will present them on Monday.
I would love to see what Winter has to say on this matter. |

| Feb-07-11 | | Travis Bickle: Hey Jess I just watched on cable again a great film starring Robert DeNiro. It's a little thin on plot but more than makes up for it with non-stop action. Robert D plays an ex-CIA mercenary called Ronin. Non spoiling clip

| Feb-07-11 | | Bdellovibrio: <jess>
I am a beginning student of the Korean language, and I have noted that you are living there. If you don't mind my asking, do you know of any good online resources to aid in learning the language? 감사합니다! |
|
| Feb-07-11 | | Bdellovibrio: I'll check back here for a response, as I don't have a forum up at the moment. |
|
Feb-08-11
 | | jessicafischerqueen: <Bdellovirbrio> why did you shut your forum? I'm afraid I don't know of any online Korean language resources- I can't read a single letter of it myself. However, I have a semi-functional speaking vocabulary which I got in "real life" from students and local shopkeers. Are you going to become a Korean person?
If you are a man over 40, you should practice being the most selfish person on earth. Due to lingering Confucian social "values" here, 40 year old men are allowed to do what they want- inclduing drink on the job and kick policemen in the nuts. One of them just went in to the Teacher's lounge and locked the door behind him- incredible. I was going in there to read something, but no one's getting in now. I feel like killing him.
It's a fallacy that Koreans "work all the time."
Men over 40 spend most of their energy thinking up new ways to do sod-all. Many of them are able to sleep soundly whilst standing upright in front of students with their eyes open. |
