May-04-15  Travis Bickle: Hey Jessica, a few years ago I asked a jovial question of who would win Batman or Superman if they were to do battle! Well... Now it will become a reality!! Sort of... ; P

Good heavens...

Didn't you also predict who would win in <Bruce Lee> vs <Godzilla>?

I seem to remember you made a bunch of various predictions of this kind.

May-04-15  Zugzwangovich: <jessicafischerqueen> Keres provided further support for the notion that the 1970 Masters vs Grandmasters Match in Sochi was held 13 Oct-2 Nov rather than 14 Aug-2 Sept. In the May '71 issue of Chess Life & Review he wrote "of a mixed tournament of masters and grandmasters, which was held in Sochi last October."
May-04-15  Zugzwangovich: Just now read your earlier post <Might you please post the page numbers, and the publication details of your edition?> Sure, Jess, will do. The book is "Korchnoi's 400 Best Games", copyright 1978 by Viktor Korchnoi, R.G. Wade, and L.S. Blackstock. Published by Arco Publishing Company, Inc. 219 Park Avenue South, New York, N.Y. 10003. The dates, other details, and crosstable for the event appear on page 178.

OhioChessFan: Man against man, Superman wins in a rout vs. Batman. However, as a great American hero, Superman is bound by a strict moral code and I can't imagine him doing anything remotely unfair to win. Batman has a dark side, and I would not be surprised to see him use some nefarious means to win a fight against Superman. In a close call, Batman wins when he has Robin hit Superman on the back of a head with a Bat Blackjack.

Heh...

I recommend the new indie horror <It Follows>.

Most impressive and the best soundtrack I've heard since John Carpenter.

<Hozza> Aha!

That's quite interesting. Is the 007 bus route only from the books, or does it appear in any of the movies?

Some bright news on your <Aston Villa>, as you probably know.

Not only do they have every chance to win the <FA Cup> final, they are in form and will surely escape relegation.

They looked great in their last game. Highlights were young <Grealish>, who looks to have secured a permanent starting position, and two goals by the red hot Belgian international <Christian Chewbacca>.

<Spurs> seem to have already put on their sandals for the beach season.

On other news, <Juventus> knocked <Real Madrid> out of the UEFA Champions semifinal.

Now it will be <Juventus v Barcelona> in the final. I will cheer for Juventus and watch Barca win.

Thanks for that song- it is really pleasant, and even comforting in some way.

It's very different from the Norwegian Death Metal you are rumored to enjoy.

  harrylime: ok ..

DCFC meltdown at the end of our season with the 'Brolly' being linked to Newcastle seemingly undermining team spirit and "losing" the dressing room ....No full stops .. I don't do full stops so gather your breath ! lol

Eden Hazard is player of the year here ...

The Villa will stay up now .. Sherwood has made a phenomenal difference... who knows? Villa might beat the Arse in the cup final .... Jack Grealish's dad , a mega Villa fan, wore his son's sweaty shirt the day after beating Liverpool and did radio interviews in it lol ... I was listening lol

Pochettino is saying a 'clear out' at Spurs for next season ... well finishing 6th is a failure so guess he's gotta say that !

Harry kane is being linked with the red mancs .... as indeed is Gareth Bale...

I've got my own reasons for despising Juve (FIAT FC ) so come on Barca in the final !

<Eden Hozzard>

I was putting search terms into youtube such as "football, soccer, history, documentary" and such.

How can anyone not love Brian Cluff?

In a similar vein, I also found a long documentary about <Trevor Francis> and the mystery of "Sheffield Wednesday."

This documentary is not nearly as good, but mainly for one flaw- too often, instead of historical narration, cheesy pop songs are played whilst we watch the football action:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dab...

It was amazing to see Trevor Francis, the "player manager" put himself in as a substitute and score a goal!

<Hozza> I watched tons of Real Madrid games recently, and I question whether <Bale> is worth the price tag? Although I don't know the price. He seems snake bitten. Two games ago he hit the crossbar- twice, hit the post once. They took him off early in that game, which I thought was a mistake. He may just be having an extended period of bad luck, and of course he's coming off a quite serious injury that he already tried to come back too early for.

<Bayern's> Robben Hood also came back too early and promptly re-injured himself. I also saw tons of Bayern games recently, including a game where Barca came to Munich and got slaughtered. In that game, both Robben and Ribbery were huge, and Messi was just coming back (too early) from injury.

Bayern missed those two players something fierce in their semifinal loss to Barca.

It pains me to say, but it would be better for <Hurricane's> career if he shipped to ManU. Good for ManU too, whose end of season form has been disgraceful.

Plus they need a center forward. <Van Percy> looks past his prime, though he might get new legs on a new team.

<Falco> has been rubbish and he came with a hefty price tag too.

<Rooney> may still be the best natural center forward in the league, but I think management wants him supporting the attack from the midfield.

He looked grim last weekend going out early with leg muscle problems. He looked to be in a fair bit of pain.

I'll be very curious to see the England lineup in their next start.
