jessicafischerqueen: Your over there regimen sounds salubrious! Interestingly, in Canada we save time by spelling "music and poker" as "moker." Initially we spelled it "poomus" but that sounded a little too declasse, even for us...

May-16-11  notyetagm: G Barcza vs Bronstein, 1949

Unbe-@#$%* -lievable tactical sequence by the genius Bronstein to end this game.

May-16-11  notyetagm: Game Collection: notyetagm's favorite tactics

G Barcza vs Bronstein, 1949 31 ... Nf4xd3! Qe4xQf5 Nd3xNe1!!

May-16-11  achieve: <<Niels>- I in fact used one of the finer pieces of music you introduced me to in the Rossolimo documentary, so thanks in order! I wonder if you can identify which musical piece was the one you showed me...>

<Jess> My hat is off to you and Richard; stunning video! Rossolimo Part 2 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xTVE... is a masterpiece, starting out with <Schumann>'s 'Traumerei', followed by Hoagy Carmichael's 'Stardust', and then the main dish, <WA Mozart>'s Concerto in A for piano and orchestra! That's the one, the heavenly Second Movement.

Also, a huge compliment for Richard's pronounciation of <Tim Krabbé>, absolutely on the button. So refreshing, really, to not hear Krabbé sound like 'crabby' ... 10 out of 10, Miss Fischer.

May-16-11  Travis Bickle: No Jess it's clearer and my old photo he's clapping, and in this one his arms are folded. You can also see his insignia's better! ; P

WannaBe: That, has to be the most interesting background that I have ever come across.

(Next to my own, or course. Where I was once kidnapped by a Maritian Maltese Mob, and shipped off to Shanghai-Singapore-Seattle-Sri Lanka, only to be latter saved by Batman while in Batavia upon Baton Rouge.)

I, have often fared well, as black against white, who have chosen to play the Ross. Attack, an early a6 always forces them to retreat, followed by b5 to solidify the black's queen side.

But, alas, if you ever want to do a history of me, and or my life, please view the latest 'Most Interesting Man' in the world, by Dos Equuis.

I have sold out my life story to them for a mere 12-pack of beer!!

Keep up the good work.

WannaBe: Ah, yes, now that you asked, (I don't care if you did not ask!!)

I came to the U.S. back in 1870s, after the Civil War, to work on the Iron Horse trail, I picked up chess one day while humouring some guy from New Orleans.

(He lost the wager, and still have not yet paid the prize of 12-pack of Corona, I heard his name is Morpheus in French, but people call him Morphy.)

As far as my glorious tournament accomplishments, I came in =last in the American Open in Los Angeles twice, =last in the International Chess Tournament in Vegas 3 times, and middle of the pack once in Chicago Open.

(My own section, if I had played in the under 10 years old section, I would have kicked some behinds, and won money!)

But however, thanks to <DrDum> and the other 2 superstars, we were able to win the Western U.S. Amateur for the U1400 section, this was back in the dark ages, 2007. And yes, we were under 1400 CM tall.

So, if you wish to do a 'tribute' and need more info, please contact me, and I will be more than happy to supply the narration, plus the details of my victory, (yes, lone, victory), and any other interesting thing about me that you may need for your video.

May-16-11  crawfb5: I moved the cable match article out into main article space:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anglo-...

We'll see how it fares out in the cold, cruel world of wicked-pedia, where everybody thinks they're right.

I see their article on US championships needs work, especially prior to the USCF-established tournament, but I may wait to see how things go with the cable article before plunging into major editing of existing work.

May-16-11  hms123: <jess> I just watched Rossolimo I/II and thought they were phenomenally good. You really do need to find a way to use your collective talents to make tons of money.

May-16-11  benjinathan: <You really do need to find a way to use your collective talents to make tons of money.>

Perhaps you should do similar videos about Miley Cyrus...

I am not sure there is any way for someone not named Kasparov or Calrsen to make tons of money in chess.

May-16-11  hms123: Benjinathan,

I didn't suggest chess, but that the skills could be used in another sphere. Educational films or the like might work.

May-16-11  benjinathan: Of course I was kidding on all counts. But Miley really would bring in the dough...;0.
May-16-11  hms123: Miley Cyrus is over. Selena Gomez is the goods according to my granddaughter.
May-16-11  benjinathan: <Miley Cyrus is over.> Not in my house. I guess things happen faster in your neck of the woods than they do here...I am sure my daughter will make a firm "Miley is so yesterday" declaration in the near future.
May-16-11  hms123: <benjinathan> My grand-daughter is almost 10 years old, so that probably accounts for it. Besides, isn't Canada ten years behind Nashville?
May-16-11  therealbenjinathan: My daughter is just ten but she seems so far behind the times. I guess we are ten years behind Nashville. At least. We have not even heard of Justin Bieber here yet. Of course that is because he is only 3 years old by our calendar...
May-16-11  therealbenjinathan: <jfq> great video! Congratulations.
May-16-11  benjinathan: Newsflash! Dateline Canada:

It appears it is not the whole of Canada which is ten years behind, but only me> My daughter informs me that she likes Selena Gomez much better than Miley Cyrus.

May-16-11  messachess: Jess. Long time. Why no comments on the games pages? We need someone to put down the patzers. That would be you. Jess?

  jessicafischerqueen: <messachess> hey ho!

How the heck are you these days?

I'm afraid I'm trying to "put down" my putting down days.

I'm a little tired of shoving my foot up my mouth so frequently that I'm forced to post lengthy public apologies three times a week.

I'm trying to cut down.

May-17-11  Boomie: <Besides, isn't Canada ten years behind Nashville?>

I believe Canada is 10 years North of Nashville.
