Aha- another recommendation thanks <Hozza>. Did you see my review of <Wild Tales>? That's your best pick so far for me.

On managers- I also think <Lake Ponchontrain> is too soft on the players. I don't think he yells at the players at half time and you have to do that sometimes.

With Korean players in particular you have to yell at them. <Song Hueng-min> needs to be kicked in the ass to produce and I don't think <Ponchontrain> is getting the job done.

For example you "can't" yell at Ronaldo, but you have to do it sometimes. That's why <Zidane> is the perfect gaffer for a <Ronaldo> whose talents are slowly ebbing now. <Zidane> has enough street cred in the clubhouse to get away with yelling at <Ronaldo>.

<The Foxes> were about to be relegated and you have to know <Nigel Pearson> was screaming at them before, during and after every match until they miraculously escaped relegation. He handed that team well in order to <Claudio Meringue Pie>, who got all the credit for winning the EPL championship with them.

But it was <Nigel Pearson> who did all the dirty work to whip that side into shape. And just because he physically assaulted an opposing player on the pitch, NOBODY talks about <Pearson> any more. This is Politically Correct historical revisionism. So what if he attacked a player on the pitch. That's funny if anything, and no worse than <Jose Merano> has done and will continue to do in the future.

But no credit to <Nigel> eh?

Too many nice guys managing <Tottenham>. <Tim Howard> was too nice too, I suspect.

Anyways I had to get that off my chest.

I'm not giving up on Spurs but they're never going to win a championship for <Ponchontrain> and you heard it here first. Just like <The Damned United> were never going to win anything under <Gall>.

On that match <United v Spurs> though did you notice the new steel in <Martial>? Like he was channeling <Alexis Sanchez>, fierce and strong on the ball and able to hold it up like a proper striker.

I think he's fighting for a permanent starting spot and I predict he will go on to a banner season this year, if he keeps up this new physicality.

On that topic, <Hazza Kane> slept walked through that match, in addition to handing the winning goal to <United> on a platter.

Even kindergarten kids know not to pass the ball square inside their own halves.

<Dom> I'm trying to parse one of your trademark elliptical posts here: <But yes, we have Chippers in <<<Erie>>> ... like the great Lennox's ... though fish is not the main thing on the menu. And they don't use newspapers.>

Ok I was mystified for a spell, but I think I've got the gist now.

In Ireland, Fish n' Chips is made out of Leprachauns, and Leprachauns no longer get their news by reading print media- they now favor the internet.

Do I win a bun brah.

<Hozza> I liked that <Verve> stuff never heard it before. On that guy walking down the street, you *can* get away with that in Korea. I am practically shoved off the sidewalk on a daily basis by 105 year old Korean women, for example.

<Hozza> right I just ordered <The Frame (2014)>, and I still have your Chinese mining movie to watch yet.

So far you're batting 1.000 on these picks so keep them coming brah. We appear to have virtually identical taste in some movies, it seems.

Dec-23-16  harrylime: Mrs <Jezzarhino>

I'm struggling talking aboot the Foxes !

I know .. I'm being selfish thinking they're a TINPOT East Midlands club who got lucky and will now be relegated to back where they belong

<Hozza> I know you have historical reasons for hating <Foxes> but really who has a kind word for <Nigel Pearson>?

Who has pulled a rabbit out of a hat the way he hauled <Foxes> from the brink of relegation?

WHY WON'T ANYONE EVEN MENTION HIS NAME now.

Because of PC bull crap and I'm sick of it. We have to give credit where it's due amirite.

I knew you would get it on old <Nigel> Hozza- you really know your football because you deeply respect the sport.

It's not a sport anyways it's more like life's blood.

Do you support or enjoy any of the EPL clubs outside the top six?

I do. I watch every minute of every <Stoke City> and <Watford> match.

<Watford> has introduced this enigmatic and exciting new Scandinavian giant <Perybgöl> or some such and he has been a huge shot in the arm for them.

I think <Watford> is on a real upward climb that will see them permanently fixed on that tough EPL ladder- they will get more money to buy more players like <Poöergyl> and keep hauling themselves up, I hope.

<Mark Hughes> most underrated gaffer in EPL for my money- and <Joe Allen> has the biggest heart in football if you ask me.

Merry Christmas to you too, <Gerry Claus> old pal.

We've gone through more than a decade of hard labor at this website eh? Reminds me of when I look at myself in the full length mirror after a shower:

<Dom> I just reminded myself of this because you used the same expression years ago- <Chess Classics, old pal>, you said to him.

Remember him? We don't get these fresh faced middle and high schoolers around anymore eh?

<Chess Classics> was solid. This website was much the poorer after he grew up enough to figure out this was a crappy place to spend all his time.

I really miss that kid. I suggested he get started early and write his memoirs about his part time job in the library. I even suggested a title:

<BLOOD IN THE STACKS>

Oh what a sign of old age to wax nostalgic eh? Buddhists tell you to forget about the past (not to mention the future) but I say "screw them" to that.

I like history. Half of the fun of life is woefully mis-remembering the past.

If everyone had been a Buddhist we would never have gotten <Neuf a la Banc Recherche les Temps Perdu> eh?
